Mark Sheppard at American Thinker produces the perfect historic guide to Climategate. Everyone needs to save this link. I would like to have seen more on the raw temp data verses the cooked alarmist data when it comes to the 1940’s blip being hidden, but this is excellent work.

Those of us whose profession’s include development of quality, safe code could tell right off that the CRU code leaked to the public was itself a hack job of incompetence. I mentioned the difference between sound code and ‘PhD level’ code here and here. The best insight into the mess is the HARRY_READ_ME file, which […]

Climategate is not going away. As I noted in my previous post this is not about emails where so called scientists suborning the peer-review process and scientific method while colluding to side step legal freedom of information requests. No, the problems discovered in Climategate are in the code and data and uncertainties. When professionals who […]

Well, well, well – it seems the UN IPCC has realized Climategate is serious and could ruin the reputations of thousands of scientists, politicians and journalists who fell down on their responsibility to verify the claims of data cookers at CRU, Penn State, NASA GIS and possibly elsewhere (UCAR/NCAR comes to mind). Dr Rajendra Pachauri, […]

One has to wonder why Phil Jones was so dumb back in August and to try and hide the CRU raw temp records with the excuse they were lost in the 1980’s. That is such bunk it is crazy – but we all now know how far he would go to avoid making his data […]

Mark Steyn has a wonderful way of distilling an issue down to its hard core. He does so again today on the mythology of man-made global warming, using HARRY_READ_ME has his foil: Yet perhaps the most important revelation is not the collusion, the bullying, the politicization and the evidence-planting, but the fact that, even if […]

The NY Times is the largest liberal rag in the US. The folks there like to think of themselves as balanced journalists, which is just like watching a wino claim they can hold their liquor. So it is not surprising to see them praise the current administration for continuing and expanding successful policies put in […]

As folks know I am a COLB denier. I don’t run with the birthers and spent many hours debunking their insanity. And I have little respect for those who have latched onto this nonsense. The birthers are not as bad as the truthers, but definitely worse than the AGW alarmists (at least there was some […]

OK this is a fascinating email showing dissension among the ranks of the CRU-IPCC club. Apparently a tree-ring study was produced in 2001 (Esper, et al – sometimes referred to as “ECS”) which challenged Mann’s Hockey stick. This study showed a much higher MWP, which sent Dr Mann and his touchy ego into full meltdown. […]

As a corollary to my previous post I must note what will also not be addressed at the WH jobs summit today – all those fictional jobs ‘created or saved’: The Obama administration claims that its $787 billion economic stimulus program has “created or saved” 640,329 jobs across the country, with more to come. That breathtaking […]
