The “Traditional” Turnout Model Is Turning On Obama

Published by at 1:50 pm under 2008 Elections,All General Discussions

McCain wants to change DC, Obama wants to change America!

Here’s the key to this presidential election – turnout!

Has Governor Palin ignited a quietly determined grass roots anti-DC wave? If you look at her crowds she gets on the stump the answer is ‘yes‘ – they rival Obama’s. If you look at the viewership for her debate with Joe What’s-his-name the answer is a definitive ‘yes‘ (her debate holds the all time record for viewers if you factor in PBS and/or C-SPAN audiences). Are conservatives fired up at the idea of stopping the socialist Obama from creating an all liberal DC the answer is ‘yes‘.

Is America ready to reject The Chosen One of the DC Political Industrial Complex? With support for Congress and the media at all time lows and 90% of the country of the firm opinion the country is on the wrong track, the answer is ‘hell yes’!

And now Gallup has proof that this is very much a possible, and maybe even probable, outcome of the election. They have done this nation a huge favor by posting two turnout models for their polls. One where there is no ground swell for Palin, or against DC and their Anointed One, which has Obama +8%. And they have a second ‘traditional’ turnout model where both sides come fully to engage in this all important election. And THAT model shows an ever shrinking lead for The One:

Under the traditional model Obama’s lead is now down to +3% and falling (it was at +7% just a few days ago). So the answer to Obama is simple – get out and vote and take 5 friends with you!

McCain wants to change DC, Obama wants to change America!

I’ve got a fevah…and the only prescription is more Sarah!

Turnout, turnout, turnout. You are absolutely correct. This race will hinge on that one basic effort. Debates are important. Speeches are important. But in the end the only thing that matters is who does the better job at getting supporters to show up and translate their support into votes.

  3. Aitch748 says:

Damn the polls — full speed ahead (to the voting booths)!

  4. bush_is_best says:

I agree – turnout is the key. That is why, here in California, we are joining the legions of other loyal supporters, in scouring the lower income areas, the minority areas, giving seniors rides to the polls, going door-to-door in some cases (in most cases a more coordinated, higher-yield strategy)… large groups are even going into neighboring Nevada… getting people to the polls, even if its only a few per person, every vote counts… and all those votes are going for OBAMA.

  5. bush_is_best says:

junkman – sorry to hear about your fevah… fortunately for you, when Obama is president, that prescription you desire will be alot more affordable… hope you feel better soon!

  6. Aitch748 says:

Of course, that prescription, being so much cheaper, is liable to be of much lower quality…

  7. bush_is_best says:

Perhaps. To what degree we don’t know, guess we’ll have to leave that up to the FDA. If he can’t afford the good stuff, well at least the option is out there for him where before it wasn’t. And if he can afford it, and wants to spring for the good stuff, like Rush Limbaugh, then he has the option to do that as well.

    Bush_is_Best,

That is a brave little face you keep trying to put on. If you are so confident why are you wasting time here???

    ROTFLMAO!

  9. ejbentz says:

I’m curious b_i_b, how is it that you know that “all those votes are going for OBAMA”? Do they tell you? Do you go in the booth with them? Do you cast the vote for them? How does that work?

  10. bush_is_best says:

Ah… different reasons, down time at work, trying to educate myself on how the other side thinks, entertainment, etc…

I’m confident, yes, but not supremely confident because we’ve been surprised before and are well aware of the stark divide in this country, so frankly I’m a little nervous. I’m nervous because its been proven, the results are plain as day, that the population has the very real ability to elect a conservative leader that turns out to be, well, less than ideal, to put it mildly.

And here in California, the sentiment is so overwhelmingly Pro-Obama, that only talking with people that agree with you is perhaps the true ‘waste of time’.

Does that answer your question about my ‘brave little face’?

  11. bush_is_best says:

Ejbentz – Of course, there is no way to truly know how everyone is going to vote. My statments on “all votes for obama” are merely an observation of the tendencies of the people in my immediate vicinity. They reflect our goals, and our optimism. You understand that right?

So, to answer your questions one by one, here you go:

Yes, they tell me. We tend to seek out areas that would be Pro-Obama, and yet might have low voter turnout based on factors like inability to get to voting stations. When I ask, so far, most people tell me they are voting for Obama.

No. I am not allowed to go into the booth with anybody.

No. I do not cast a vote for anyone else other than myself.

The more people we can get to vote for Obama, the less of a chance we have of ending up with another embarrassing president. We attempt to do that legally, and within the guidelines of whats feasible and fair. That’s how it works.

    Too confusing?

in my city, I have not met a SINGLE person who is not 100% pro-Sarah and anti-Obama.

Will the MSM and ACORN be allowed to steal this election with bogus polls?

Nancy Reagan is reported to be in the Hospital. Our prayers are with her, but also when the American People think of how the Obama campaign racist smears have hurt Nancy and all good people, is it possible the public will wake up!! !!!!!!

If Obama was not ahead in the so-called “polls”, the Dow would be over 15, 000 and Nancy and so many others would still be well.

Obama and his MSM Jonestown cultists are KILLING our Nation!!!!

WAKE UP AMERICA! Readers here are awake, but how can we get others to see!!!!!

I am mad and frustrated and angry!!!!!!

  13. thekid21now says:

bush is best is dreaming if he thinks the dimmocrat party has fooled my America.

When Sarah Palin holds Trig up on November 4, and prays to Our God in grateful Thanks for what will be a McCain Landslide, b-i-b will be eating the garbage he spews.

  14. bush_is_best says:

    AJ and friends –

What do you make of this claim that the Dow would be over 15000 if the poll results were different? That would be some kind of record, would it not? My 401K would sure like that…

…and that Nancy Reagan’s current situation is caused by a combination of Obama campaign tactics, poll results and the jonestown cultists from the late 70’s? somehow I thought she fell, went into the hospital a week later with soreness, was diagnosed with a fractured pelvis, and was reported to be in ‘good spirits’ … she’s 87 right?… is that common among women her age?

Perhaps he’s right though, seems fitting, and yeah, the MSM… I think I saw something to that effect on FOX news actually, sounds like a BIG development… must be true…

  15. bush_is_best says:

    The kid strikes again!

Hopefully this Bush economic situation has not relegated me to eating garbage by that point…

…and if the triumphant VP of this nation, holding an special needs infant in the air, praying aloud to ‘Our God’ in grateful thanks isn’t a sign that we have progressed as a society… then I don’t know what is… perhaps I should swap my blue card for a red one and drink the punch afterall…

    this is a ‘debate’ site…right?

  16. Terrye says:

Who is this bush is best person?

    Go away you little troll.

As for the Bush economy, Barack Obama refused to support legislation that would have dealt with the subprime problems. That is right, the Democrats created the situation and Obama refused to support legislation and then tries to cover his butt by yammering that he wrote a letter.

Yeah right. Bush tried as far back as 2003 to get corrupt Democrats to deal with this, but they protected their friends like Raines and Johnson over at Fannie Mae and Country Wide. They pushed legislation to make it almost impossible for lenders to not give out those loans.

    Crooks and liars.

BTW, how many of your friends who are out there doing the get out the vote thing are drug addicts and felons working for ACORN?

  17. Terrye says:

    ejbentz:

In all likelihood bib here tells that if they don’t vote for Obama they don’t get the whiskey or crack or whatever the hell it is he and his friends are using to buy votes.

  18. Terrye says:

ACtually I bet if you looked at this troll’s IP you would discover he is one of the other trolls who used to frequent the site and have left in a huff, back under an assumed identity.

  19. bush_is_best says:

More poignant questions from the right… fun… OK, more straight answers.

Number of my friends working for ACORN = 0
    Number of Felons = 0
Number of Drug Addicts = 0

Buying votes with “whiskey or crack”? Sorry none of the above.

C’mon people – treat others how you would want to be treated yourself.

Never been here before, (checking my IP address, now that’s funny) just trying to have a debate, and throw a little sarcasm and logic from the left. Nobody here has the balls to play by the rules. Which are: lay out the info as it is, ALL OF IT, even if some of it is counterproductive to your goal.

Are democrats partially responsible for failing to avoid this crisis? Of course they are… and we will try to learn from our mistakes…

See, now that wasn’t so hard.

Now. There is a chance that you may lose this election. Of course fraud and voter ignorance might be a large part if it. Especially with all my friends and their whiskey and crack… but, there is also a current administration, and a powerful opponent running a good campaign that is ALSO a part of it. Please address the later for once.

  20. bush_is_best says:

btw, if the 3 of us lefties were not here… you would have nobody to ‘debate’ with, on this here ‘high flying debate’ site… and you want me to leave? sounds chickensh*t…
