Protect Moderates From Mad Madam Pelosi
For all those who thought they were going to get more choice in health care as a result of the liberal nightmare now being proposed in Congress you can forget about it. Here is how it is going to really play out.
The Democrats have created an environment were premiums will go way up, pushing employers to dump their health care plans and force employees to go into the ‘market’. This aspect of Mad Madam Pelosi’s (“We Won The Elections Tuesday”) liberal health care plan is already clear to a vast majority of voters.
Seventy-two percent (72%) of voters nationwide say passage of the proposed health care plan could lead companies to drop private health insurance coverage for their employees. Forty-eight percent (48%) say it’s very likely.
After the employers dump their employees the cheapest plan available will be the government rationed health care option – where your value to society will be weighed to determine the amount of care you will receive. In fact, after the insurance companies close up shop the ‘public option’ may be the only choice left.
So say you now prefer to pay as you go or limit the services to lower your premiums? You won’t have that option when you live in Mad Madam Pelosi’s world. In that world you have no choice but to do as the Imperial Speaker demands:
Today, Ranking Member of the House Ways and Means Committee Dave Camp (R-MI) released a letter from the non-partisan Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) confirming that the failure to comply with the individual mandate to buy health insurance contained in the Pelosi health care bill (H.R. 3962, as amended) could land people in jail. The JCT letter makes clear that Americans who do not maintain “acceptable health insurance coverage†and who choose not to pay the bill’s new individual mandate tax (generally 2.5% of income), are subject to numerous civil and criminal penalties, including criminal fines of up to $250,000 and imprisonment of up to five years.
In response to the JCT letter, Camp said: “This is the ultimate example of the Democrats’ command-and-control style of governing – buy what we tell you or go to jail.
Some quick math here: if you make $100,000 that would be $2,500 per individual. Assuming a family of four that would be $10,000. make what you want of these numbers, my guess is they would have to skyrocket to cover everyone – especially with the baby boomers heading into their golden years (‘golden’ because of how expensive health care is for the elderly).
All those fake commercials the Democrats have been running about ‘choice’ are lies. Lies to the American people. Not only are the zealots in DC not listening to We The People, they don’t care. They intend to force us to listen the them – or we will be arrested and thrown in jail.
It is time to throw the bums out for sure, but it is also time for some leaders in Washington to stand tall and for Americans to recognize them and support them when they do. The elections for congress are a year away, the votes on health care are now.
I propose we all pledge to support any moderate democrat or republican who stands tall and opposes passage of this liberal nightmare. I know there are some power hungry few who think we should let this abomination through to teach people a lesson and gain seats, but clearly most people know the problem and there is time to influence people to reasonable positions on other issues later.
If a moderate helps stop this disaster (along with Cap & Trade) I would hope America would give them another chance in 2010 and not support any opposition candidates (from inside or outside their respective parties). We can afford to give people who stand up for America one extra 2 year term in the House. Small price to pay to stop the madness.
The example here is Joe Lieberman, who stood tall in his support for succeeding in Iraq. The people of his state rejected the fringes on both sides and kept him in office. They have never regretted that choice. So I am completely comfortable with this kind of alliance.
We need to pledge to protect those in congress who protect this nation from the mad liberals running the Democrat Party right now. That means, if Warner (D) or Webb (D) stand up and oppose this mess right now – along with Cap & Trade – I will vote for them next time around.
And of course, if they do not stand tall I will do everything in my power to give the the Creigh Deeds experience.
Update: 7 freshman congressman have stepped forward in opposition to Pelosi-care. We have are first suite of brave American Democrats to applaud and support.
Update: Here is the list of democrats already opposing Mad Madam Pelosi. Again, they deserve the nation’s thanks on this attempted take over of 17% of our economy. We only need 8 more defections (Yes, the 7 listed above are already on the list).

Sec. 224 (p. 118) provides that 18 months after the bill becomes law, the Secretary of Health and Human Services will decide what a “qualified plan” covers and how much you’ll be legally required to pay for it. That’s like a banker telling you to sign the loan agreement now, then filling in the interest rate and repayment terms 18 months later.

Sec. 303 (pp. 167-168) makes it clear that, although the “qualified plan” is not yet designed, it will be of the “one size fits all” variety. The bill claims to offer choice—basic, enhanced and premium levels—but the benefits are the same. Only the co-pays and deductibles differ. You will have to enroll in the same plan, whether the government is paying for it or you and your employer are footing the bill.
This is like a used car salesman saying pay me now and we show you the make, model mileage and features later. Who is dumb enough to vote for this? BTW, these aspects of the plan will be hung around everyone candidate’s neck for all eternity. Do you know how many veteran democrats are in peril? It is not just the freshman or those in McCain districts. In VA there are veteran Dems in Obama districts that are easy targets right now.
Their main hope is they stand up in opposition to the madness in DC.

Sec. 1302 (pp. 672-692) moves Medicare from a fee-for-service payment system, in which patients choose which doctors to see and doctors are paid for each service they provide, toward what’s called a “medical home.”
The medical home is this decade’s version of HMO-restrictions on care. A primary-care provider manages access to costly specialists and diagnostic tests for a flat monthly fee. The bill specifies that patients may have to settle for a nurse practitioner rather than a physician as the primary-care provider. Medical homes begin with demonstration projects, but the HHS secretary is authorized to “disseminate this approach rapidly on a national basis.”
Adds a whole new meaning to the term ‘old folks home’. Medical homes, where they ration your health care.
What do you call it if the government writes a plan that all people are required to buy? The government sets the price that the plan will cost each individual based on their ability to pay? The government requires individual insurance companies to carry only one plan and dictates the cost of the plan, ie the government vertically nationalizes all insurance companies? What system of government do you call it that controls 16% of our economy with an iron fist?
This is the government that President Obama idolizes, wants, has thought about through his life’s work. This is a government that crushes her people, strips them of dignity and choices, imagination and this is a governments that turns her people into zombies, drooling followers by mandate.
Obama is the man who sat in Rev. Wright’s church who damned America, capitalism, individualism. The man who surrounds himself with Marxist, and socialists. This is the man that will dictate the value of your life, your work, your unique being. Remember this is the same man who would abort a baby because
he would not want to punish anyone with a mistake.
Americans are not zombies! Rush, Beck and Hannity may not have been very diplomatic about their ranting, but they saw something very scary long before I did. What Obama wants is as un-American as any piece of legislation that has ever been contemplated. It must be stopped, it must not be passed out of the Senate, even if it is passed out of the House.
I cannot believe that there is one single living breathing person with a brain that would vote for this bill.
