Showdown With Iran

Published by at 10:34 am under All General Discussions,Iran

A nuclear armed Iran is not something the world can literally live with. If you look at my posts on Iranian nukes, you find that as far back as 2005 I felt the signs where there for There have been a lot of indications “on the ground” that the West is preparing to deal with Iran and the nuclear desires. There have been an increased number of naval vessels in the area. The talk of an Iraq ‘surge’ of troops could accomplish removing pressure from a very major source of the fighting in Iraq – Iranian backed forces and material. And Ralph Peters notes another obvious indication that time is running out on Irans dangerous game:

WORD that Adm. William Fallon will move laterally from our Pacific Command to take charge of Central Command – responsible for the Middle East – while two ground wars rage in the region baffled the media.

Why put a swabbie in charge of grunt operations?

There’s a one-word answer: Iran.

ASSIGNING a Navy avia tor and combat veteran to oversee our military operations in the Persian Gulf makes perfect sense when seen as a preparatory step for striking Iran’s nuclear-weapons facilities – if that becomes necessary.

While the Air Force would deliver the heaviest tonnage of ordnance in a campaign to frustrate Tehran’s quest for nukes, the toughest strategic missions would fall to our Navy. Iran would seek to retaliate asymmetrically by attacking oil platforms and tankers, closing the Strait of Hormuz – and trying to hit oil infrastructure in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf emirates.

Only the U.S. Navy – hopefully, with Royal Navy and Aussie vessels underway beside us – could keep the oil flowing to a thirsty world.

Makes a lot of sense. Iran’s leaders are not just unstable, they seem prepared to martyr their entire country for the cause of Islam. Ahmedinejad has delusions of being in touch with the last prophet before Armeggedon. He has promised the end of Israel and the West. Iran’s armies include an army of terrorists who could disperse nuclear weapons to any point on the earth. Our intelligence states clearly that Iran is more of a threat than Saddam’s Iraq allied with Al Qaeda. Iran’s leaders must be taken at thier word that they plans to bring on the class of civilizations which will leave Islamo Fascists to rule the world. He is not kidding and neither are the Mad Mullahs.

This is a repeat of the Iraq situation on steroids. Warnings and diplomatic offers have been pushed for years now. The WMD capability is there and so are the ties to an army of terrorists throught the region. And like Iraq, a very simple and easy solution awaits Iran’s acceptance, while that nation instead threatens everyone they can think of. Time is running out on Iran and the Islamo Fascists. And if they do not reverse course, which they won’t, waiting for them to finish arming themselves so they can attack us is not an option. No government can allow a cear threat to their people to grow. Iran is a clear and present and groing danger. They say so themselves.

Hmmmmmm. We’ve lived with the former Soviet Union – the original Evil Empire (now Russia) having nukes for 50+ years. We survived the communist Peoples Republic of China having nukes for – say – 40 years. The North Koreans now have nukes – and Bush has done doodly-squat about it – but – and its a big BUT – now, with a broken military, a global economy, and 1.8 billion Muslims in the world – AJ wants to initiate another unwarranted pre-emptive war with a nation 4x bigger than Iraq – a nation that could probably cut off oil movement in the Persian gulf – and who’s virtual military won a recent war game exercise before the brass pulled the plug on the disaster.

Can you post us your address so we can look you up when oil hits $150 a gallon and we are in a world-wide depression that makes the one in the 30’s look like a Sunday-school picnic?

I’m not even going to ask what conesplif thinks the difference between the Soviet Union, China and Iran are. Even if he understands the difference he would have to admit the difference makes a difference. And that isn’t part of his agenda.

  3. conesplif says:

I’m not even going to ask what conesplif thinks the difference between the Soviet Union, China and Iran are.

Uh – the difference between Iran and the Soviet Union is that the Soviet Union doesn’t exist any more. And I even gave you a clue on that one, Sue.

  4. Sue says:

If that is the difference you see, then you really don’t have a clue. Which goes to show, never give the benefit of doubt to someone who has already shown themselves to be clueless. And of course I realize you can and will use that last sentence against me. 😀

  5. Sue says:

How do I post a 😀 here without it looking like –>? Maybe this will work… **grin**.

  6. Sue says:

Ahh…it worked. Now if my short-term memory doesn’t fail me, I will remember at AJ’s to use ** instead of my normal ::

    It Economics I Tell You.

It is currently well understood that Israel has over 200 nuclear weapons. Iran has no nuclear weapons and even the best lies puts their first one some years away.
Iran dose not want nukes they really serve no use, only the deaf have not heard of MAD Mutual Assured Destruction.
Ahmadinejad has said many times that “The grate Satan(US) and Israel will be destroyed in the same way the soviet union was”. I have done, as much research as humanly possible and I could not find any reference to the day America nuked the Russians only economic stuff.
Iran has indeed put it self in an economic position to destroy the American economy. Its strong alliances with oil rich countries like Venezuela and its socialist friends in the Non Aligned Movement NAM and SOC including China have got America on the run and American economic destruction is on its way.

How much money dose America give Israel a day?

How much money dose America owe China?

The inconvenient truth is only the second amendment will stop this war and there’s no chance of that.

The humble socialists are more prepared than any of the Capitalist Imperialist Aggressors (CIA) think.

    Thanks for your time.

Misanthropic wondered why Americans were so arrogant that they had forgotten it is the meek that inherit the earth.

    Conesplif,

Why must you be such a harrasser. It sure is funny that you have been posting here recently and sound alot like “Ken” that was removed from the threads. Quite a coincidence indeed.

I would recommend you lighten up a bit and take a chill pill. We are not the enemy, Al Qaeda and the radical islamists and those that support them are. If you think for one minute in their world vision, if they take over like the Nazi’s wanted, they would let you run amok with the gums, you are mistaken. Guys like you would be at the front of the line for your beheading because you will alwways antagonize and complain.

AJ, you might want to consider the fact that “conesplif” is Ken. I realize they posted on the same thread right before Ken got the boot, at least I think they were, but Ken could have made a wordpress account.

  9. Mark78 says:

    Conespliff,
The Soviets wanted to live, the Iranian LEADERS are suicidal and CRAVE war. It’s a huge difference.

  10. cochino says:

Ken’s back! Couldn’t stay away, could you?

  11. cochino says:

    Sue,
Conespliff (Ken) isn’t worth replying to. I posted on this site for the first time in a long time yesterday because I thought he was gone. He’s just here to tweek you. All of AJ’s posts become about him and people responding to him. He knows he’s just throwing out crap to tick off the “fascists” and “imperialists” at this site. I exposed him for the idiot-fraud he is a few weeks ago. His aim is to annoy you. It makes him feel superior.

  12. cochino says:

One final point. What Conespliff (Ken) does here is easy to do. The regular posters on this site could, in theory, go to many of the leftwing blogs and pull the same stuff. In practice, it could never happen because they would block you out at the first sign you were just being a jerk (like Conspliff/Ken). The only difference is that AJ is extreeeeemely tolerant of this type of thing. So, Conespliff (Ken) can play his little games and feel superior.

  13. Sue says:

Had I known it was ‘ken’ I wouldn’t have responded. Thanks for letting me know.

  14. For Enforcement says:

Cochino, “The regular posters on this site could, in theory, go to many of the leftwing blogs and pull the same stuff. In practice, it could never happen because they would block you out at the first sign you were just being a jerk”

You are absolutely correct. I went to Kos once and the first time I posted, I disagreed with them on something. The very first time, I was blocked out, and I wasn’t even trying to be obnoxious(like Ken) , I just disagreed with them. Within 5 minutes, I had created a new account and posted again. That particular post, I sucked up to them and got all kinds of compliments about my “point of view”. Little do they know, LOL.

I have never used any other name on this site.

  15. cochino says:

I was blocked out of Freerepublic! My very first post! I said I thought Rush Limbaugh was being a baby or some such thing (I actually enjoy Rush’s show, by the way). It was totally innocuous. My post never even appeared and I was blocked out. I tried to contact the webmaster a few times because I thought it must be some kind of mistake. I never heard back.

  16. crosspatch says:

President Dinner Jacket of Iran’s game is pretty clear at this point. It consists of emotional button pushing … comments such as “we will again humilliate you”, etc. He is attempting to precipitate an attack on Iran by the US/Israel. He honestly believes this will, in turn, precipitate the return of the 12th imam (and Jesus, actually). He can not strike Israel unprovoked, only as a response to an attack so he is attempting to precipitate an attack to provide him the justification for attacking Israel with nuclear weapons. He appears prepared to martyr the population of his country in order to, as he sees it, fulfill some quranic prophesy.

He is a religious fanatic with a nuke. There is nothing more dangerous because there is no deterrent. What are you going to do, threaten ti kill him? A religious fanatic isn’t afraid of that. The only deterrent that would be effective is to convince him that his plan would send him and his people to hell. The only way to do THAT is ti make sure we do NOT ever provide him with the justification he seeks to attack. If we play our cards carefully and neutralize his provocations without escallation, we could possibly manage to run Iran to ruin.

Iran has only a limited window of time. Their oil infrastructure si crumbling from lack of investment. Their production levels are dropping, the price of oil is also falling … some $30 a barrel already in 2006. His revenues are decreasing while his domestic demand for refined petroleum products is increasing. He is due to be a net oil importer by 2012 or so. At that point his net cash flow changes from accumulation to expenditure . So he has no money to continue funding Hezbollah in Lebanon and meddle in Iraq and the people begin to demand he spend the money at home.

So … if the Iraqis are effective in nipping the influence of the Iranian backed shiite militias (such as Mookie’s bunch) and the Lebanese are effective in stemming Hezbollah and if we can tighten sanctions around Iran without a direct attack, Dinner Jacket really doesn’t have any options but to perhaps step up the provocations. That game is risky because it is important to his game that any attack on Iran must seem to be “unprovoked” or at least way out of line with any provocation. If he escallates the provocation, he risks something going wrong and justifying an attack on Iran which at that point his game falls apart as he becomes “the bad guy”. In his mind, Iran is the “good guy” against a world dominated by an evil Israel and the 12th imam and Jesus will return and unite and wipe Israel off the face of the earth. Saddest thing is, I don’t believe he is willing to wait to see the 12th imam and Jesus appear because he believes it is only his actions that will precipitate their return. So we have a fanatic with a nuke who believes he must use it to precipitate the return of the 12th imam and Jesus … and his faith is so great that he doesn’t care if his country is incinerated as a result. We have not seen such madness in this world since Hitler’s “master race”.

You bet, Ralph Peters is excellent, today.

BUSH IS CALLING IN THE NAVY!

That’s long term strategy. And, we’ve owned the sea since we tackled the Barberry Pirates.

It also means Bush doesn’t need the idiots in congress “to halp him out.” He’s got it all in hand.

And, the media, wrong as usual, is also an arab and european, tool. Not just for the house idiots (pelosi’s crew), anymore.

    And, this can take time.

It doesn’t have to “play out” in a short period. Unlike, what Tommy Franks did. This one also involves a somewhat democratic approach in Iraq. Since Maliki probably can’t get enough votes to stay on the job. And, nobody knows for sure what the People will pick. Including the rump end of the sunni’s. Since lots of them have been chased OUT. That’s why JORDAN’s so upset! And, eygpt. They see the handwriting on the walls of FATE.

    Israel just sits tight.

And, oil at a $150 a barrel? Excuse me. China belly up’s first.

What America has to do, through our navy, is keep the Straits of Hormuz open. (Probably not an impossible job. Because Ahma-nut doesn’t trust his military. They’d sooner turn on him, than the American fleet at sea!)

And, even the Saudi’s wouldn’t mind popping Tehran! Don’t forget we have sold the Saudi’s jet planes. And, while the Saud’s are the terrorists, they’re the terrorists that don’t want to go out-of-business, due to the nut in Tehran. Or even putin. In russia.

China? You think she could take the financial hit if she could export nada? Really? You didn’t know that trade is a commodity you don’t want to lose?

Besides, once oil prices skyrocket COMPETITION gets keener. It gets there by definition. Because the harder it is to retrieve from shale. Or however ELSE it could get sucked up, the price, itself, could be a noose to the Saudi’s?

OR? What we think of something that can “run out?” Who knows? What if this stuff fill up from the “liquid” center as we rotate?

One thing for sure, though. The arabs are not at their finest when it comes to science.

And, Ken Lay got to lay there like a lox, when his company got in trouble. And, he thought he’d speed dial the White House for a bailout.

Sorry. No parachutes are available to thugs. And, even the House of Saud “could” shake in its tent, if Bush feels about those princes, on about the same level, that he thought of Ken Lay.

hitler, crosspatch, is buried in a parking lot. He had one dozen years. And, his major accomplishment was killing unarmed Jews, with state participation. Teaching Jews, at least, that a government is worthless if it can’t protect innocent citizens.

What did the germans get in return? By the time Patton peed into the Rhine, and then crossed it, you couldn’t find a nazi in germany at all. Most buried or burned all their memorabilia. And, those were just the living. There were 10-million dead germans.

    Madmen can do that.

But the accounting system? Seems to belong to Ken Lay.

  18. crosspatch says:

Might have a look at this article in the Telegraph.

  19. conesplif says:

And, oil at a $150 a barrel? Excuse me. China belly up’s first.

There’s a great idea – with China belly up – who will make your clothes, washer/dryers, and every other piece of crap you buy from Wal-Mart? Plus – if China isn’t selling – they can’t continue to finance Bush’s gigantic deficits – the dollar crashes – and the US is insolvent.

    It’s a global economy, kidz.

  20. For Enforcement says:

    conesplif(Ken)
you sure don’t understand the market. If there is demand, there will be supply. We’ve only been buying from China for a few years, we bought it from other places before that. China sells cheaper, so we buy from there. If China bellies up, we still get it from other markets. Russia would be very happy to supply us. Look, who’s dumb? China ships us hard goods, we give them pieces of paper. The longer that goes on, the more of their raw materials are in US and the more pieces of paper are stacked up over there. The bigger the stacks, the less incentive China has to want something bad to happen to that ‘paper’. Now you understand who the dummy is? Remember a few years ago when Japan was going to own 90% of the US real estate in a few years. Now they own practically none. The US isn’t going anywhere.

Let’s say you have cash, stocks, etc worth millions. You have a house, car, real estate, lots of things, toys etc. which is worth more if the cash becomes worthless and the stocks crash? You can still live in your house and eat and have toys. the “paper” wouldn’t do much for you, Doesn’t taste good.
