Democrats Losing America’s Support

Is there anything more damniing than having a political party full of Chicken Littles that lose faith in America and our military men and women? Not damning to America, but damning to the poor saps of the political party who are screaming we need to surrender, cut and run from Iraq as soon as possible! LGF had a link to this Washington Post article which reflects well on the American people and their resolve to do the right thing, despite how hard it might seem at times.

Democrats fumed last week at Vice President Cheney’s suggestion that criticism of the administration’s war policies was itself becoming a hindrance to the war effort. But a new poll indicates most Americans are sympathetic to Cheney’s point.

Seventy percent of people surveyed said that criticism of the war by Democratic senators hurts troop morale — with 44 percent saying morale is hurt “a lot,” according to a poll taken by RT Strategies. Even self-identified Democrats agree: 55 percent believe criticism hurts morale, while 21 percent say it helps morale.

Well, that 21% that sees doom and gloom in the wake of all our success is surely not going to garner a lot of respect from the average person.

The results surely will rankle many Democrats, who argue that it is patriotic and supportive of the troops to call attention to what they believe are deep flaws in President Bush’s Iraq strategy. But the survey itself cannot be dismissed as a partisan attack. The RTs in RT Strategies are Thomas Riehle, a Democrat, and Lance Tarrance, a veteran GOP pollster.

Well, the problem is you cannot call something a failure when it is clear we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel (as I posted here, here, here, here and here).

The Chicken Liberals realize December is their last chance to create the illusion that Iraq is not the success it is becoming. Unfortunately for them, propoganda never works in a society with a free fllow of information available to it.

But even worse, when those who predict dire consequences and embarrassing loss are proven wrong through clear success and hope – their reputation is permanently damaged. The left will never recov er from the fact they spent three years trying to avoid success in Iraq. The left will be seen as the latest example of what Neville Chamberlain reflected in his surrender to Hitler in the 1930’s: weakness begets violence, strength begets peace and prosperity.

  1. Washington Post poll — 56% of Americans think Democratic critic

The Washington Post released a new poll which they say provides support for the contention that Democratic criticism of Iraq hurts the morale of troops. Supposedly, 70% of people say that criticizing the war by Democrats hurts morale.

  2. Democrats won’t want to hear this but…

There is a strong belief out there that the type of attacks being launched against the war and the President are being done for partisan gain, and HURT troop morale. Via the Washington Post:
