White House Takes Back Iranian Invites to July 4th

Published by at 4:11 pm under All General Discussions

The Obama administration has recinded the invites to Iranian officials to join in the U.S. celebrations of the 4th of July. But they are not recinding those invites because they are showing support for the people of Iran or to show that they do not condone these acts by the Iranian officials. Instead, according to the White House they are taking back the invites because no one has RSVP’d:

“As you all know many weeks ago the administration extended an invitation to celebrate the freedom that this country enjoys. not surprisingly based on what we see in Tehran, no one has RSVP’d,” said White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs.

“Understand that July 4th allows us to celebrate the freedom and liberty that we enjoy. I don’t think it’s surprising that no one has signed up to come given the events of the last few days. Those invitations will be no longer extended.

Oh, so rude………they didn’t respond in a magnanimously positive way……… you’re kidding, they didn’t respond? Cross off those guys forever.

Too late, Obama. You retracted the invitations only because you were under great pressure to do so; you have NO principles to know not to extend it in the first place.

And the fact that they did not accept the invitations does not excuse them for extending the invitation to the Iranian delegates.
