Sorry For The Brief Outage

Published by at 11:12 am under All General Discussions

Seems we had a lot of traffic today and the site was down for about 30 minutes – our apologies for the inconvenience. If folks would like to donate to the Strata-Sphere (see donation button at upper right) we will be looking into getting a dedicated server to avoid these occasional outages.

Cheers, AJStrata

Dear AJS – I promise to donate to the cause if you will help out with providing a steer towards where I can find a Slava poster (Aleksandr Chantsev), if they still exist. Forget what post you attached it to (appropriate I am sure). All the best to you and yours.

My apolgies terminus, I do not know anyone by that name. Good luck in your search.

Dear AJS – Let me try to fine tune a bit. Again, I forget the post the artwork was attached to which would probably make things easier. In any event, the art pictured three rats rowing a small skiff on a sea of sand (skiff was named Slava). Beady eyed apparatchik rats. My apologies for pestering you re: the matter, and really do enjoy your site. Best.

No problem terminus, here is the post (thanks for the hint, would not have found it otherwise). I ran across the site from a google search for an image of “rats leaving a sinking ship” (or some such phrase). That is all I know of the man and his art – that one link.

    Cheers, AJStrata

Hi AJ – I have a very fast server for my site at http://mensnewsdaily.com. Like your site, MND uses wordpress. When we get traffic bursts (anything over 300 simultaneous visitors), the site is bound to slow down because of the number of PHP calls on each page. The good news is that there is a nifty little plugin called WP Super Cache that automatically makes an HTML cache of wordpress’s PHP pages. It may help you when the big traffic hits.

Please email me. I would be pleased to communicated with you offline.
