Putting The “RAT” Into Democrat

Published by at 6:09 pm under All General Discussions

One thing is for sure, democrats and their MSM minions have lost all their credibility, and therefore their ability to pretend a smear based on vague inuendos will pass the smell test. But being blind to the fact they are in decline sometimes makes them think they are invisible when they muck rake in plain site, like this

The Westchester District Attorney pocketed nearly $12,000 in campaign checks from firms and associates with alleged links to organized crime, the Daily News has found.

A review of campaign and court records shows at least six donors with ties to mob families who’ve contributed to Pirro since 2003.

“Jeanine Pirro has prosecuted more than 100 made members and associates of the mob and has been a leader in the fight against organized crime,” said her campaign spokesman, Mike McKeon. “Any suggestion to the contrary is just ridiculous.”

Yonkers Contracting wrote Pirro a $500 check in July 2004. Prosecutors say Yonkers paid $50,000 a year to a corrupt union official of Operating Engineers Local 15,…Yonkers has not been charged with a crime.

This last example is obviously a victim of a shakedown operation. Maybe he is glad the corrupt union guy was finally stopped? I guess the reporters could have included the fact she had ties to other victims of crime too, since she prosecuted 10o mob members.

But not to be outdone comes Bob ‘I lost Another One’ Schrum on the NARAL debacle. Check out what the Rats are so upset about regarding NARAL’s false claims:

“Republicans don’t mind running an ad that’s entirely false, but Democrats have never learned, and I’m not sure many of them want to learn, how to play that kind of politics,” said Robert Shrum, an adviser to several Democratic presidential campaigns. NARAL had to pull the ad, he said, because “they weren’t getting support from any substantial quarter.”

No wonder the old guy has the longest Presidential losing streak. We all know liberals want everyone to think Reps lie, and they may need to think that to keep the faith. But what Schrum is saying is democrats are losing their ability to lie as well reps. What’s this Bob? People feel their honor and reputation regarding bold face lies is more important than politics??? They did not want to support proven falsehoods? Bobbie, we know you sold your soul to the devil politics – what in the world makes you think the rest of us want to?

What a joke [hat tip Polipundit].

UPDATE:

More fun with smears g0ne bad. Turns out some of those same contributors gave to democrats as well. That’s how you earn the name ‘ankle biter’.

Hey AJ—I have a theory: this is probably pretty far out but, you know, this is the right wing blog-o-sphere and we’re all crazy out here anyway, so… 😉

I see little to indicate that Pirro has any chance against Hillary for a senate seat. I’m a New Yorker and can say authoritatively that Hillary is loved through and through here, especially in the city.

Maybe Pirro has thrown her hat in the ring this early as a kind of test balloon. You know, give the Republicans a chance to do some reconnaissance on Hill’s campaign–how will her team go into action? What will their first moves be with an identified opponent? Who’s playing what role? Etc.

I mean, with just what’s happened in the first few days you could put together a pretty good brief on Clinton tactics and strategies.

    What do you think?

Oh think that is very much part of it. But watch Pirro. New Yorkers are not going to be supporting a smear campaign against Pirro when they partially elected Hillary as a response to the Clinton scandals. I think NewYorkers are the most tired of BS politics when you have isseus like national security to deal with. 9-11 is still in the minds of New Yorkers and they have been tilting right in all elections since.

Also, I think Pirro can gain enough up state to make a race of it. Interestingly enough Hillary is right at 50% in the polls right now. That means 50% are open to options. One slip and that support could drop further.

But you are right, this will give the reps a another good opportunity to measure Hill prior to ’08.
