NFL Playoffs

Published by at 2:05 pm under All General Discussions

Now for something upbeat and fun and away from politics. I am rooting for San Diego and Green Bay today – probably because my political desires have bled over into sports and I would like to see change at the top. San Diego has the higher hill to climb. They are facing the best in the league on their turf in bitter cold conditions. But if anyone can beat the Patriots it is the Chargers. They have been great while the Pats have been coming from behind. But that is why the Pats are so hard to beat, the come from behind all the time. San Diego is going to have to get ahead and stay there for four full quarters. Green Bay has it easier since they have both home field and cold weather advantage. Anyway, hoping to break away from my 7 day-a-week work schedule of the last month to watch some of it.

I’m in total agreement with you on this one!

I learned about football from my father over 40 years ago when Bart Starr was leading the Pack. After now living in the Dallas area for over 20 years I am still a Packer backer and can’t bring myself to support the Cowboys.

Let’s hope it’s once again their time in their place…Go Pack!

well, I just hope your political picks do better than your sports ones.

    WWS,

I have no super powers! As you should note I only said who I was rooting for, not who would win! After a month of 7 days a week work it was a bummer evening to say the least.

Oh, I was kidding, I wanted to see GB go all the way, too. Watching the patriots go 19-0 looks extremely boring to me and I think anyone else who isn’t a hard core New England fan – and I predict pretty low SB ratings, since this is basically a NYC vs Boston match and the rest of the country isn’t going to care much. (NFL marketing hype notwithstanding)

I long ago decided the best reason for never gambling is that I can’t possibly predict who’s going to come out on top in these things, and no one else can either. (win-loss is hard enough, but play a point spread? puh-lease.)
