Police Abandoned Bhutto Prior To Attack?

Published by at 11:28 am under All General Discussions,Pakistan

It seems police security in place at Bhutto’s rally left their post prior to the attack on her:

Perhaps more shockingly, an attendee at the rally where Bhutto was killed says police charged with protecting her “abandoned their posts,” leaving just a handful of Bhutto’s own bodyguards protecting her.

“Police officers had frisked the 3,000 to 4,000 people attending Thursday’s rally when they entered the park, but as the speakers from Bhutto’s Pakistan People’s Party droned on, the police abandoned many of their posts,” wrote Saeed Shah in an essay published by McClatchy News Service. “As she drove out through the gate, her main protection appeared to be her own bodyguards, who wore their usual white T-shirts inscribed: ‘Willing to die for Benazir.'”

Clearly unravelling what happened and who is behind this is going to take time – so anyone laying blame with confidence is simply speculating wildly at this moment.

    Telegraph

Here is a translation of the transcript of the alleged telephone conversation from senior al-Qa’eda leader Baitullah Mehsud to another militant said to have been intercepted after the assassination.

Maulvi Sahib (MS): Asalaam Aleikum (Peace be with you)

Baitullah Mehsud (BM): Waleikum Asalam (And also with you)

    MS: Chief, how are you?

    BM: I am fine.

MS: Congratulations, I just got back during the night.

BM: Congratulations to you, were they our men?

    MS: Yes they were ours.

    BM: Who were they?

MS: There was Saeed, there was Bilal from Badar and Ikramullah.

BM: The three of them did it?

MS: Ikramullah and Bilal did it.

    BM: Then congratulations.

MS: Where are you? I want to meet you.

BM: I am at Makeen (town in South Waziristan tribal region), come over, I am at Anwar Shah’s house.

    MS: OK, I’ll come.

BM: Don’t inform their house for the time being.

    MS: OK.

BM: It was a tremendous effort. They were really brave boys who killed her.

MS: Mashallah (Thank God). When I come I will give you all the details.

BM: I will wait for you. Congratulations, once again congratulations.

    MS: Congratulations to you.

BM: Anything I can do for you?

    MS: Thank you very much.

    BM: Asalaam Aleikum.

    MS: Waaleikum Asalaam.

I just heard this morning that the cause of death was actually from having slammed her head on the car (edge of the sunroof?) in an attempt to pull her in or her getting in quickly.

    CP

The detail I read was the lever that operated the sunroof. She got thrown against it by the blast.

The shifting storylines do not give one a great deal of confidence in the truth of any of them.

Scroll to bottom of story for pic of sunroof latch and seat blood.

Wow, those photos are really something.

This is when you need LGF to comb over all the photos for truth. All is never as it appears

  9. S says:

Very interesting the links to the photos are all gone at leats the several sights I checked. wonder why?

  10. S says:

Wow how convenient — no autopsy and then wa la a transcript with “proof” a some tribal dude executed the attack. this after “xrays” were released and the doctors talk about no autoposy request. How could you possibly buy this narrative. Just becasue facts are being trickled out, doesn’t mean they are authentic. Hangin on every piece of new information to color the narrative misses the point: the narrative is disinformation. Now we should expect some other transcendant event to occur so the pressure comes off or attansion is diverted to ventilate the situation. Haven’t we seen this play before. What are the guesses: massive strikes to capture the transcript dude? A reconciliation government that hands the Islamist more gains at the expense of stasis? Musharif is forced into exile?

One could envision this as right out of a CIA flick, but for the almost certaqin eventuality that it would be leaked to the Times. No such luck in Paki Dawn.

Shoot to kill orders issued to the military upon encountering rioting. Mush is walking the knifes edge. His deputy who is pro western and now running the Military could be the de facto go to with Mush thrown to the wolves.

Not a clue as to why pulled, but likely some objected to the blood on the seats pic as being in bad taste.

I have seen nothing yet to indicate the photos were bogus. As I said earlier I first saw them and the xrays in a slide show over at HuffPo but they did not link a source so it was just a hunt on the net to find them.

Other examples may still exist somewhere.
