Want To Measure The Depth Of Liberal Denial On Iraq War?

Engineering and science are disciplines of measurements. We can measure the distance to the moon within millimeters using lasers. We can use radio signals to measure the distance the orbit of a satellite and predict its path for days into the future even with dozens of random and unpredictable forces perturbing the orbit path. So it is natural for us to look to find some measurement in order to predict future events. Well we have a new measurement of the depth of denial on of the liberal far left on the war in Iraq which is useful for extrapolating the amount of time it is going to take them to face up to want has HAPPENED in Iraq.

It has taken The New Republic 15 pages of agonizing rationalizations, dodging and weaving and just plain denial to say one simple thing: “We effed-up on our Iraq coverage”. There are about 25 sentences per page to get around to admitting a one sentence statement of fact. That is a factor of 375 to 1. By that measure it will take the left over a year to realize the Iraq war is over and won after it happens. That is one hell of a delayed response time – but that’s what you get with denial. I am sure it took Neville Chamberlain a long time to realize his mistakes with Hitler too.
