More Democrat Futility

Published by at 2:12 pm under All General Discussions

Dems will need to read up on their Constitution and learn about separation of powers – because they keep wasting time (and making fools of themselves) with subpoenas which will be ignored by the administration. The democrats are already proving to be incompetent and incapable of passing anything of merit. The less they accomplish and the more they waste America’s time on these partisan witchhunts the less likely they will be able hold control of Congress in ’08. So far they are batting zero and getting worse.

You know how much I hate bursting your bubbles, AJ, but under what theory of law are Karl Rove’s e-mails not subpoenable? Executive privilege applies only to communications between Rove and George Bush. Certainly, e-mail sent outside of official government systems – like his RNC e-mail accounts – cannot be conisdered privileged.

Rove will produce or be held in contempt and possible detained, and teh Sergeant at Arms of either the House or Senate has the power and authority to arrest and hold Rove.

Maybe I’m missing something, but um what was illegal about the mass (8) firings of the U.S. Attorneys? I always thought their jobs were dependant upon the President. If he wanted to fire one or all (WJC) he could.

  3. crosspatch says:

Its a TV show, it isn’t government. Okay, what is the WORST thing they could find in those emails? Lets say they didn’t like the brand of socks those US Attorneys wore and decided to fire them. That is STILL in the President’s mandate. He can fire them for ANY reason. There doesn’t even HAVE to be a reason.

There is nothing to be gained from collecting these emails. There is absolutely no crime in any possible way with the firing of those people. What they are hoping to find is something ELSE and they have no idea what else, they just want to look at the emails to see if maybe they can find something else.

And it is also about appearing to be dominant over Rove. It is theater. They want to make it appear that Rove submitted to congress over something, anything.

Always love it when the Democrat Stalinists try quoting the constitution – a document they more than likely have never read.

Actually I would like to see Pelosi or Reid try to have the SoA detain and hold Rove…wonder if the WH would turn into a sanctuary since it is the Executive Branch and an equal power to the Congress…hmmm bet that would be a ratings hit for the MSM….

  5. ordi says:

What is next, will they subpoena the tag in his underwear?

  6. Soothsayer says:

NO ONE – left or right – wants an underwear tag from a guy Bush nicknamed Turdblossom.

    sooth:

I don’t know what they are after other than wasting the taxpayers’ resources on self serving crap that no one cares about anyway. They promised all sorts of things, from cheap gas to cheap health care and so far all they have done is harass the Bush administration about stuff no one cares about.

I hope the Bushies tell them to shove it.

  8. Terrye says:

    Jacqui:

Yes, soothie has the United States Congress confused with the Politburo. But then again, we are seeing the same kind of “show trials” the Soviets were famous for. What is next, the gulag?

  9. Jacqui says:

The admininistration should push back on these losers and they can – the Executive Branch has just as much power as the Congress – and anyway the election is next year. They can selectively comply for at least 18 months…Clinton did it for years. And Rice can push back on testifying – they can keep that in litigation as well. NBD

  10. ordi says:

Well, soothie I am happy to hear that you understand the underwear tag search would be “Fruit” less. LOL

I hope you and the other brown shirts in the Dem party soon understand your incessant witch-hunt is just as fruitless. To date it has been fruitless and we all know it will continue to be.

I know – I know – YOU see a room full of sh_t and you know there is a pony in there somewhere. But there is not and deep down you know there isn’t. Unbridle yourself from your imagined pony and get unto something else. Have you checked out the latest on what DiFi was up too? 1.5 BILLION – Now for her that was not fruitless. $$$$$$$$

  11. Retired Spook says:

I agree with Jacqui. It would be really interesting to see the Sergeant at Arms of either chamber attempt to arrest and hold Rove. Hold him where? In the House cloak room? As Crosspatch notes, it’s political theater, nothing more. Well, I guess it’s also mental masturbation by Soothie.

Not by a long shot, Ordi. She makes Duke Cunningham look like an amateur. Any bets on whether or not she’ll join him in the slammer? Of course not, she’s a Dem.

    No veto override!

It means that the Democrats should have come up with a clean defense bill in the first place. It’s their fault for failing to deliver a clean defense bill to Bush and not understanding the mandate of our votes. The Democrats never approved the funds for the US troops withOUT a timeline, benchmarks, and pork.

I think you may have missed the word NOT in my post. She definitely benefited from her position, so did her hubby and her aide.

  15. Retired Spook says:

No, I understood your post, Ordi. I guess mine was just not clear. I should stay away from double negatives. What I meant was that “not by a long shot was it not fruitless.” You and I are on the same page.

  16. ordi says:

I see said the blind man! Yes we are on the same page.

  17. Dc says:

Yes…lets just start frogmarching…or bumrushing the stage..of anyone who’s speech, loyalty or politics we disagree with…and declare it an excercise of our first amendment rights! (ie..stopping you from doing that..is violating YOUR right to free speech!!)

There’s a good patriotic democrat for you.

It is a shame you are such a predictable seminar poster.

Have you ever had an original thought?

  19. Dc says:

And so it is….MilBloggers, the people closest to the actions in Iraq. have been told to shut-up…stop posting their opinions.

Sooth would be searching for BVD to go with his BDS.
