Hagel’s Idiocy

Published by at 7:46 am under 2008 Elections,All General Discussions

Word is Chuck Hagel claimed Bush needs to surrender Iraq to al Qaeda or face impeachment. Hagel is a fool with delusions of granduer. He might as well switch parties now, he has gone as low as he can in the GOP. The man is the kind of whimpering appeaser Bin Laden bet was the core of the American soul. Hagel is the guy who would have responded to 9-11 with plans for subsidies and treaties to keep from being hit again. The guy is pathetic.

Ed Morrisey nails it, particularly in this comment:

This is just another example of Congress trying to abdicate its own responsibility on Iraq. Congress could end the war in Iraq tomorrow by cutting off all funds for the deployment. They do not need George Bush to take that step. However, it would then put the responsibility for everything that follows squarely on the shoulders of Congress, and the Representatives and Senators there largely want to avoid that. A handful of them would rather initiate an unconstitutional impeachment adventure, which would leave Dick Cheney in charge and result in no policy change whatsoever anyway, than accept the responsibility of their own actions. (emphasis – mine)

I can’t, in my wildest imagination, believe that Hagel still has presidential aspirations. He shows up in presidential polls as *other. What amazing to me is that, other than his moonbatery on the war, he has a solid conservative lifetime voting record.

Yeah, right – Hagel – with two Purple Hearts and a chest full of ribbons from serving in Vietnam gets slandered by draft-dodging cowards like fat Ed Morrissey – who – get this – comes by his Capt. nickname because he was a Trekkie with a crush on Captain Kirk.

Cheeses K. Rist, I’m sure gonna listen to tough talking cowards like Morrissey slander a genuine Republican war hero like Hagel.

    Soothie,

Stop reading the conservative blogs if it bothers you. And all the medals in the world will not make Hagel any less an idiot today.

  4. Retired Spook says:

Sooth, you’ve refined the “don’t like the message — destroy the messenger meme” to an artform. Ed Morrisey’s credibity notwithstanding, if you look back at Hagel’s rhetoric over the last couple years, compared to his own military credentials and overall voting record, you get a big, fat “DOES NOT COMPUTE”.

  5. Soothsayer says:

On the contrary – if you look at Hagel’s statements in the last few years, they evidence a growing discomfrot with the incompetence and failure to plan of the Bushies, and a true concern for the troops placed in harm’s way from someone who has actually been there and done that – unlike the covey of draft-dodging cowards now avoiding prosecution or impeachment by huddling in the darkened bowels of the West Wing adn hiding behind executive privilege.

I can clear up this little problem for Sooth. Hagel went off the deep end over the 2000 election. He was my favorite to rag on for a long time because he was such a sore loser. He was McCain’s right-hand man until he was replaced with Lindsay Graham. Hagel jabbed, jabbed, jabbed. He hates George W Bush, never forgot they lost and never passes an opportunity to jab again. Look at his face. He has stayed in a continual pout face since 2000.

    A self description, I’m sure.

Graduated high school; matricualted college; 4-year 2-S deferment; graduated college; classified 1-A; took physical at the Federal Bldg on E. 12 Street in downtown Cleveland; passed with flying colors cause I didn’t tell them about the ACL; nailed the exam; was offered OCS; got my lottery number; was never called.

No draft-dodging activities from this loyal American. No multiple deferments, no hiding behind family connections in the TANG.

  9. Aitch748 says:

I don’t give a damn HOW many Purple Hearts, Medals of Honor, etc., etc. a Congressman has. John Kerry is supposed to have received three Purple Hearts (never mind that HOW he got them looks a little iffy), and it wouldn’t surprise me if Mad Jack (“redeploy them to Okinawa”) Murtha has a chestful of medals in a drawer somewhere. I wouldn’t trust either one of them to run the war. Certainly I wouldn’t trust them as a replacement for the guy who “only” flew fighter jets (as if that were a perfectly safe job for people too cowardly to get shot at).

Amazing. You managed to pack 3 talking points into two sentences. The Dems only had to ‘fire the bullet’ and their MSM Army took it from there.

They sat back, enjoyed the show and now you quote the bullets. After all, this is now your established history. So they got caught? So what………just change it to ‘fake but accurate’ and the Dem’s MSM Army marches on. As Rather said….it doesn’t change the story.

Back OT……Hagel is one of the orginal Bush haters.

  11. Sooth your ann ass,
We have a saying in the Sanitation business.

You are as good as your last load. Neither one of you two has done anything worwhile for humanity lately,

Both of you are shooting blanks full of a slimy white substance.

  12. Webloggin says:

Senator Hagel Puts The 'R' In "Foot In Mouth"…

Thanks to Mr. Hagel we can once again lift liberal spirits with the hope that somebody, anybody, will lead the charge to impeach President Bush for the War in Iraq. Note to Senator Hagel, are you high?

    ……

So now I’m bein’ criticized by friggin’ garbagemen???? I can’t tell you now much that hurts my feelings.

  14. Aitch748 says:

At least garbagemen have a useful function in life.

  15. Can’t we just vote Hagel off the island?…

The Senate’s least republican Republican gives the moonbats what they’ve wanted all along. A Conservative open to the possibility of impeaching the President. But, get this, it’s not because of High Crimes or Misdemeanors!
