Pardoned Terrorist In Morroco Turns To Bombing

Published by at 1:23 pm under All General Discussions,Bin Laden/GWOT

The good news in this story is Morroco avoided a suicide bomb, but that crazy part is one or two of the suspects had been pardoned of previous terrorism charges. And it took ineptitude to incover the plot, not surveillance:

Police have arrested 13 people allegedly linked to a man who blew himself up in a Casablanca Internet cafe and found bomb-making equipment on Wednesday, an Interior Ministry spokesman said.

Like the bomber, at least one of those arrested had been in prison on terrorism charges before being pardoned, ministry spokesman Abderrahman Achour told The Associated Press.

Abdelfettah Raydi died when explosives hidden on his body went off in an internet cafe in the Casablanca slum of Sidi Moumen, injuring Raydi’s accomplice, Youssef Khouidri, and three bystanders.

Goes to show you what happens when you show a terrorist any mercy.

Here is a list of the world 50 poorest countries:

Afghanistan, Angola, Bangladesh, Benin, Bhutan, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Kiribati, Laos, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Maldives, Mali, Mauritania, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nepal, Niger, Rwanda, Samoa, São Tomé and Príncipe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Somalia, Sudan, East Timor, Togo, Tuvalu, Uganda, Tanzania, Vanuatu, Yemen, Zambia.

Take a quick look at that list!

Tell me, how many Jihadis, or Homicide Bombers, or Plane-flying-into-Building producing countries on that list, do you see?

    How many from Haiti?

If “poverty” was the genesis, we’d see Homicide bombers, and Jihadis, out the yingyang, from Haiti?

    Ever hear of any?

How about how many from Vanuatu?

    East Timor?

    Soloman Islands, anyone?

    C’mon….Laos???

Now, take a look at that list, and tell me the countries that DO produce Jihadis, Homicide Bombers, etc.:

    Yemen…..

    Afghanistan…..

    Bangladesh….

    Hmmmmmmm…….

What do they all have in common?

    I wonder……??

Hell, when we get Jihadis from the Carribean, they only either come from the Muslim communities on Trinidad & Tobago, or are converts from Jaimaca!

EVERY country on that list, that produces Jihadis, etc., has one, and one thing ONLY in common:

Salafiyyah Sunni Islamic Theology, or Apocalyptic Shia Theology, or both!

Either the country is completely Muslim or predominantly Muslim, or has a Muslim population, or a propensity for producing Muslim converts! (Richard Reed was from Sri Lanka, for gosh’s sake!)

The ONE common factor: Islamic Theology!

Put that in your pipes, and smoke it, Leftist Bozos!!

Merlin/Gents; thanks for all the kind words; not sure I deserve them.

Certainly Michael Yon is someone I admire, and would like to meet some day.

Sorry about your friend Scott. R.I.P.

    S/F

    Dale

Michael Yon has his own website and many conservative bloggers link his posts to their respective websites.

wow, both Dale and MerlinOS have been everywhere. I’m willing to bet the same on RetiredSpook, too.

I remember reading something recently…perhaps in one of Robert Spencer’s book, maybe one of Bat Ye’or’s articles…that right after WWII, many people agreed that the truth and facts about radical Islam will never again be taught in our school systems. Whomever wrote this disagreed and thought that our young children should be taught the truth about radical Islam in our public school system.

I used to think that religion should not be taught in our school systems.

My mind was recently changed. Now I think that the school curriculm should make religion courses mandatory.

The other thing is how the Western World is no longer embracing Christianity. Will this be a lost cause for the West as more and more people lose touch with Christianity?

“I still to this day remember his buddy Scott Helvenston, another local guy, who was killed in the early days of Iraq and was so badly trashed with all the reverence of the Kos guy statement of “screw them”.

Just like 9/11, that sentiment will never be forgotten.

There are some things that are just right.

    Scott my man, RIP. ”

I’m sorry to read about Scott. I expand my condolences to Scott. Rest In Peace, Scott.

I read a post tonight somewhere that these countries used to be Christian.

And yesterday 9 Buddhas were executed. Islam Theology is trying to wipe out Jews, Christians, Cops, Buddhas, Hindus, etc. Zoroatrians have been virtually wiped out. The remaining Armenians are in USA (at least most of them).

PS: if you go over to Bill Roggio’s site; he has a guy named DJ Elliott who works and posts with him sometime, on the OOB stuff!

DJ worked for me on the COMIDEASTFOR Intel Staff, almost 20 years ago, onboard the USS Coronado, during the Earnest Will/Praying Mantis timeframe!

I was a young Marine Corps Capt; he was an IS1 I do believe!

DJ is a genius on OOB stuff!

Glad to see him hooking up with Bill!

  10. DaleinAtlanta says:

Lurker: yes, they are wiping out the Jews and Yezidis and Chaldeans and Mandaens (John the Baptist followers!) in Iraq; they are wiping out several hold out miniscule pagan tribes in Paksitan; they are trying to kill off the inhabitants of Socotra, where the indigenous religion for centuries, has been a syncretic blend of Islam and Christianity, due to it’s isolation.

They’re bound and determined to wipe out the Copts in Egypt, and Syria, and the Jewish communities in Libya, Egypt, Iraq, Yemen, and Syria, and Turkey, have gone, or will go extinct, in our lifetimes.

The Jewish populations in Morocco and Tunisia are holding on, for now, but barely…

  11. MerlinOS2 says:

I know many probably never made the connection to what Kos made his “Screw them” comment about, so I will expand a little. I will awaken a memory that some may have put aside and forgotten.

But the truth of it is if you remember the early war reporting from Falluga when four contractors were burned alive in a car and then had their bodies strung up from a bridge, that was the event that consumed Scott.

He was a Special Forces Brother of Michael Yon.

In life or death we can have no other such bind.

I will leave it at that.

  12. DaleinAtlanta says:

Merlin: I didn’t know that that was Scott, or that he served with Michael Yon.

But Kos wasn’t the only one, by mistake last fall, I flipped onto a George Carlin special on HBO, I was on it just long enough to hear him make reference to the 4 contractors in Falluja, and his comment was “Fuck ’em, if they’re stupid enough to go to Iraq, they deserve to get their heads cut off…”!

He said a few other things, equating the US Military to murderers, and I turned it off!

Someday, I’ll run into the fucker, in an alley somewhere, and he’s chickenshit…

    I haven’t been everywhere.

I am only on my ninth passport.

    Give a guy a chance.

  14. Retired Spook says:

Merlin, IIRC, those were Blackwater guys. My nephew and I were discussing that event at Christmas. Blackwater Executive Vice President Bill Mathews was a fraternity brother of my nephew’s at Arizona State back in the 80’s. The image of those burned bodies lashed to that bridge is something I’ll never erase from my mind. IMHO, until we can give back what those guys endured, it will be very difficult to win.

  15. retire05 says:

Lurker, there is an old saying ” there are no atheists in foxholes”.
When 9-11 happened, church attendance in the U.S. skyrocketed. People were afraid, and in their fear turned to their religion for solace. Now we are becoming complaisant again as the memory of that horrible days fades. But when it happens again, and I truely believe it will, we will see a new resurgance of church goers.

Dale is right; this war is not about poverty. It is not about oil or American interference or our “evil” society or our desire for freedom. It is about one thing; the fact that we are viewed as a Christian nation and a nation of infidels and it is their purpose, as ordered by Mohammed, to conquer the infidels and subject them or put them to death. If it were about the United States being viewed as the agressor, why have we not had any suicide bombers from North Korea?
The Madrid and London bombings were a shot across the bow to those nations. It was letting them know that if they interfer with the Islamofascists and their war against the United States, they would suffer the same fate as we did on 9-11. The Spanish took the hint to heart and caved. Only the England of Churchill stood strong and even now, they are facing opposition to the war in Iraq and are beginning to cave. God help us when Blair retires.
Europe is all but atheist now. So they are not a religious threat. But we are since we are the most religious nation in all of western society. Even my beloved Ireland is not the Ireland of my younger days. It has become secular, to a fault.

We are in for the long haul. This is not a fight we will win in our generation. It will be fought by our children, and our children’s children. And unless we muster some spine, we will lose. America, as we know it, will cease to exist. America, as we knew it, ceased to exist on 9-11.

Read this link, it tells the story like only Mike can do it.

A friend emailed me from the United States this morning. He said ABC Nightly News and 20/20 had contacted him. Friday night, they will broadcast shows about the four contractors who died in Falluja last year. The public display of brutality by the killers prompted, in large part, the “invasion” of Falluja. My friend said that the killings have also led to political messes, and lawsuits back home.

One of those contractors, Scott Helvenston, was our friend. We all went to high school together. Played football together. We wanted to do something meaningful to remember Scott, and a scholarship seemed like the perfect way to ensure that his memory be a legacy for other kids who have the determination to make it to college but not the resources. Scott was all about giving people a hand up from a tough spot.

I implore you all to read the rest of the story.

It shows the best of a man that even Michael doesn’t realize or seem to admit he is.

His latest post I read still has the same humility when some compare him to the modern day Ernie Pyle.

But if you read the comments to his post, the answer is there.

    A fair exchange.

If only the rest of life could be like that.
