Dirty Bomb Risk Still High

Published by at 8:38 am under All General Discussions

The Litvinenko incident may be the first sign of a serious new threat, one which has only once come close to being realized when Chechyan Islamists left a dirty bomb of nuclear material in Moscow in the mid 1990s. The nuclear-based dirty bomb (as opposed to chemical-based) is the lower tech answer for terrorists who want to strike long term fear into a population. And now we hear that this threat is still too high because not enough steps have been taken to control the core material of these devices which have common uses throughout society:

The Energy Department has not done enough in Russia and in developing countries to secure radioactive material that could be used to make a so-called dirty bomb, congressional investigators said Tuesday.

A report by the Government Accountability Office said that over the past four years security has been improved at hundreds of sites containing radioactive material in 40 countries but “many of the highest-risk and most dangerous sources still remained unsecured.”

You think? With someone trailing Po-210 for a month around London, Hamburg and Moscow I cannot imagine what in the world clued them in.

I thought Po-210 had only a 3 month shelf life?

Perhaps, they’re trying to make lead?

As to what the perps can do, they will continue to do this crap until they get the shit beat out of them.

My guess? For the europeans it will be hand-to-hand combat.

Not to be taken lightly, though.

Even in all the WW2 stories you’ve heard, you’ve never heard of the germans who didn’t “get to go home, again.” Because farmers knocked the living daylights out of the fleeing bandits. And, then fed the “remains” to their hogs.

You think not? Then you’re unfamiliar, as well with the frenchWhile there are plenty of perplexed GOP voters, who wonder HOW this BUSH ventured so far off his ranch, that he got lost in the democrapic thicket. And, they don’t like him there, either.

About time a pendulum came and struck that moron where it hurts.

Any questions? Need a decoder ring? North or South Dakota? (Da’coder.) propensity to take their kings, and other assorted aristocrats , and use the guillotine as public entertainment. Again. It was done “hand-to-hand.” Not impossible. We’re just not there, yet.

As to “dirty bombs,” who knows what harms will prevail in the future?

There’s still always Chernobyl to think about; when it comes to how the russians totally lack quality controls.

I’ve also noticed that the “huge mosque” that was gonna be built to show Londoners a thing or two about the Olympics; has died on the vine. Will it be turned into a giant parking lot? Disney’s lost interest in buildilng “parks” over there. And, land that’s unoccupied usually becomes “something or other.”

As to what happens? Oddly enough, the Litvinenko character was a BAD GUY. He dies early in this movie. And, for all intents and purposes, you still don’t know “how.” You think you know stuff, because the “oligarth” with the russian money hired a PR agent, to fluff this story up.

Litvinenko could have been killed by anybody passing by his bedside. He was way to sick to talk. So someone was definitely making sure he stayed that way.

Reminds me of Oswald. Who was NOT in the safe hands of the Dallas police. Remember? Surrounded in the basement of the police department, he got shot on TV. It was just amazing. And, all that flowed afterwards? Lies. And, more lies.

The good outcome? The incompetent Warren, a former governor of California, exited his lifetime appointment on the Supreme-O bench, to put together a DISHONEST report. All that produced, if you went to look at it now? Where it is FORGOTTEN. Is the infamy of our government doing a terrible cover up job.

Who killed Litvinenko? Be darned if I know. But whoever did it was very, very close to the body, when it happened. And, I’ll bet ya, the causes (which may have been multiple), never made it into the medical record.

Oh. And, he wasn’t tossed out the window, either. I guess his room wasn’t high enough up for everything to just go splat.

Put nothing past lying government officials. You’d be surprised what you can buy if you’ve got the money.

Oops. That was a post that got screwed up!

The da’coder ring failed, I guess.

He’s another attempt at a cleaner copy.

It’s how you KNOW the word “barracade.” It’s what the french peasants climb when they get very angry, every few hundred years, or so. And, go mad at their officials.
