Record Early Voting

It seems there will be a lot of votes to count, if the early voting tallies being reported are a prediction of today’s turnout. That would tend to favor the Reps, at least in that those polls which assumed a higher dem turnout will be wrong. In Florida’s Broward County it is clear Republicans were able to mobilize a higher percentage of their voters (Broward is deep blue). From New Mexico, to Arkansas, to West Virginia, the news is all the same. Both parties are getting their base out. This will be an interesting day.

Republicans are doing a bit better than Democrats on early voting and absentee turnout in Broward. Some 12.7 percent of the registered Democrats have voted early or absentee, compared to 13.4 percent of registered Republicans.

That’s nice. What were the percentages in 2004? Is the reporter an idiot, for not thinking to ask? Or were the numbers higher for the Dems in 2004, and therefore the reporter didn’t want to tell us the Reps are doing better?
