Kerry Was Tip Of A Foul Iceberg

Welcome Hugh Hewitt Readers! Hope you can take the time to peruse the site and find something of interest.

Kerry’s comments, as I an many other bloggers have catalogued, is not the exception, an outlier. It was not out of character for the democrat and the fevered supporters. This election was always about the fissures in the Democrat Party – always. People assumed it was about the Reps and Iraq, and there is much to ponder about Iraq as we face our fifth year coming up next March. But we know the decision to free the people and give them a good shot at democracy was the right decision. We are just hoping we can make it work.

But the fevered swamps on the left have a different view and have from the start. I pointed out earlier comments by the far left printed on 9-11 blaming us for the attack, claiming 9-11 was deserved for all our efforts in the past to contain the mad dictators of the ME. The left has been about tearing down America to build a socialist version. To end the freedoms and put everyone in line. To create purity of thought by mandate (thought police laws). And the biggest target of the left is our brave military. Drudge has two items which everyone should share with everyone they know which show the true ‘heart’ of the liberals. First there is this:

“There has never been an American army as violent and murderous as the one in Iraq”

Pulitzer-winning investigative journalist Seymour Hersh slams Bush at McGill address.

If Americans knew the full extent of U.S. criminal conduct, they would receive returning Iraqi veterans as they did Vietnam veterans, Hersh said.
“In Vietnam, our soldiers came back and they were reviled as baby killers, in shame and humiliation,” he said. “It isn’t happening now, but I will tell you – there has never been an [American] army as violent and murderous as our army has been in Iraq.”

Hersch is complaining that when attacked, our troops fight back. At least our troops don’t capture civilians and slowly saw their heads off for propaganda films. Then there is this on Kerry from 1972, which explains his slip on ‘the joke’:

n 1972, as he ran for the House, he was less apologetic in his comments about the merits of a volunteer army. He declared in the questionnaire that he opposed the draft but considered a volunteer army “a greater anathema.”

“I am convinced a volunteer army would be an army of the poor and the black and the brown,” Kerry wrote. “We must not repeat the travesty of the inequities present during Vietnam. I also fear having a professional army that views the perpetuation of war crimes as simply ‘doing its job.’

All Kerry learned since then is to modify the thought to “the poor, the uneducated, and the black and the brown”. As I noted in my earlier post, there was Ted Rall and Michael Moore. But why stop there? There is always the other Mad Gore (Vidal). The left has long believed the US commits War Crimes, and our military and intelligence personal are glad to participate.

The truth of the matter the election is a choice between protecting this nation from Islamo Fascists or going on a liberal orgy of investigations and witch hunts leading to impeachment. They vultures on the left will not be supporting our troops, they will be bringing them home to stand trial in standard Congressional theatre. They will find the next generations of uuseful idiots like Kerry to explore Abu Grhaib and every urban encounter. Our military will be brought up on charges here and across the ocean, as a lessen to George Bush and the Reps. The liberal fantasy is to prosecute those who prosecuted the war. Terrorists will be pushed into the courts here in the US. They will mingle with our hardened criminals, setting up all sorts of problems. The NSA will be shutdown and Bin Laden will rule in Iraq. And there is a really good chance Israel will be overrun. Because once the Democrats have our brave men and women testifying against each other in show trial in Congress and played out on CNN, the world will erupt. And the Dems have no ability or intention to do anything about it. They will be focused on impeachment.

Think about if folks. It is not a far fetched possibility. It is much more believable than the idea Bush and Cheney knew about 9-11 and made it happen. In fact, it is the belief in that ridiculous consipiracy theory that allows the left to rationalize there are no rules to politics anymore. In their fevered minds, if Bush and Cheney could pull off 9-11, then they too must fight down and dirty. I gaurantee you that the left intends to do what it takes to stop the evil they see in their BDS obsessed heads. Sadly, we Americans are that evil. In fact, some have already called for this to start:

There will be more in this intermittent series about the special extralegal rules the president has given the CIA, as well as additions to Mayer’s article. But I urge you to get this 80th anniversary issue of The New Yorker, and then insist that your members of Congress interrogate the top-level perpetrators of war crimes in this administration.

And as I said, this is the tip of the iceberg. More here. These are Pelosi Democrats.

    Now THAT’S scary!!!

Harold Ford seems to think that Kerry deserves a “second” chance. SECOND CHANCE? That man has had hundreds of chances to ruin his country and he continues until this day to do so.

And you want to talk about war crimes? Where is Kerry’s war crimes investigation? I mean the one where HE’S on trial. I am hoping that Col. Bud Day (Congressional Medal of Honor winner) and the other vets from the Vietnam War get their justice in the upcoming law suit. If anybody wants to help see this happen here’s where to go:

But, By G*d, we’ll be back on the straight and narrow path to socialism that Bush and his silly war interrupted. Koolaid in all the drinking fountains, spread the wealth, the Greater Good, and all that rot. We can all learn Kumbaya again to sing to the terrorists. Libs prolly figure the Jizya (infidel tax) is just another tax, and when have libs ever failed to embrace, even enhance, another tax?

How appropriate that Carol Johnson is the first to post in this thread.

On October 23rd, Carol posted the following:

Either someone at the RNC reads this blog or Carol knows some people in high places, because this ad was on Fox News this morning, almost verbatim. I hope they keep playing it over and over and over.

    Way to go, Carol!!!!

  4. Retired Spook says:

Well, somehow the blockquote of Carol’s post got lost in cyberspace. I’ll try again.

Here’s one possible ad: We see and hear a wiretapped conversation, with a terrorist revealing his worst plans to his associate – and, inadvertently, to government eavesdroppers, too. Then, when he’s about to spill the beans on when and where the next attack is going to come, the line should go dead, with a dial tone, with a machine voice saying “This wiretap terminated in the name of privacy rights by the Democratic U.S. Congress.”

  5. Democrats Insult Our Troops Now…

Tokyo Rose was tried for treason, the Democrats and left media will not be for one reason, because these soldiers that fight every day and give their lives in the name of freedom, give the Democrats and the media the RIGHT to spit on their fallen sol…..

  6. Same old commie Kerry, different decade…

Kerry’s comments about “uneducated and unwashed” troops isn’t the first, won’t be the last. The guy at least consistant:
“During a Vietnam-era run for Congress three decades ago, John Kerry said he opposed a volunte…

The Picture Seen Round The World (Except In MSM)…

The picture seen ’round the world is not in the Los Angeles Times, which is not only against Republicans these days, but news as well and the circulation it brings.
It did of course make the New York Post, which is winning the circulation war in……

  8. owl says:

Another reason Kerry is the Democrat’s true face? Charlie Rangel tried to bring back the draft in ’04 because he thinks our current military is exactly what Kerry described. Sure they both served. They also think the same about the the ‘trapped’. Rangel was all over FOX before the ’04 and spouting the same insulting drivel. These people will be in power if we do not vote.

Anyone see the current Dem leadership in front of any cameras until they were forced? No and Reid and Pelosi are still MIA.

  9. Retired Spook says:

No and Reid and Pelosi are still MIA.

Owl, Don’t you think that the reason for that is that ANY public comment they might make at this point would either upset their base or energize the GOP base (or both)? Reid and Pelosi may not be the sharpest knives in the drawer, but I think they both recognize a LOSE/LOSE situation when they see one.

Thomas Lifson over at The American Thinker had a humorous take on this yesterday:

At noon [today], he (Kerry) will be in Mankato with Democrat Tim Wal[z] at a “veterans’ rally.” …….

But Walz wised up and cancelled. So far as I know, however, he is not denouncing Kerry, only hoping that he will join Nancy Pelosi in a witness protection program. (emphasis – mine)

  11. The Real John Kerry, Redux…

I apologize for the light posting today, actually no posting. The wife and I decided to head down to San Diego and I am right now writing this from the Hotel Del Coronado. Couldn’t let this “apology” go by without putting my two cen…

  12. Anyone buying Kerry’s “explanation,” or accepting it as an apology, is an idiot.

He said exactly what is “seared, seared” and “crystal clear” in his mindset.

  13. The Macker says:

    AJ,
    Thanks for the intelligent analysis.

Today’s Left is the same blend of cowards and socialists with their cheering section in the empty media and degenerate entertainment industry that did such damage in the ’60s to our institutions and culture.

The difference, today, is that smart patriots can be heard in the “new” media.

  14. Kerry DID Mean What He Said….

Well Mr. Kerry, your true colors have finally shown through and it is representative of the Democratic point of view. After all he was their choice in 2004 for President….

    Strata

America did not “free” Iraqis but brought them, so far, four years
of anarchy. It did not give them ” a good shot” at democracy, but
a billion shots of assassinations, killings of innocents, shots of ethnic cleansings, rapes and kidnappings.

The Left blamed 9/11 on America’s attempt to fight Middle Eastern
“mad dictators?” Maybe some of the Left did, but others on the Left –and Right –blamed it on America’s SUPPORT for mad dictators like the Shah ;before installing him the CIA had killed Mossadegh,
a freely elected democrat. Others of us attributed 9/11 in part to the
one -sided support for Israeli oppression of Palestinians. Some might have mentioned running Saddam out of Kuwait using another Arab land as base from which to attack, after Glaspie told him we didn’t give a hoot about Kuwait. Then imposing an embargo which killed
enough Iraqis to inflame many Arabs who weren’t yet angered .

AJ, please don’t belittle Abu Ghraib as mere mischief when the International Red Cross found it incarcerated, long term, 70%
innocents. When the innocent got out many decided not to stay
so innocent, as well as other family members, which brings me to
    this:

Hersh and others might be noting that overkill at public intersections home invasions, etc. have added thousands to the ranks of the insurgency…that old Middle Eastern revenge thing , extending to cousins.

Strata, quit trying to pull off the deception that Iraq War opponents
are Leftist. Polls indicate Bush war support in the 30 percentile,
and there aren’t enough Leftists in America to fill half of the
70% in opposition, among them conservatives Will, Buckley, Buchanan. Only one thing more deceptive…your hysterical
prediction that Democrats winning the house equals bin Laden’s ruling Iraq. Bill Buckley et al ain’t buyin’.

    Ken,

Stop trying to act like you understand what your talking about. Rule one on my site – don’t tell me what to do. Just try and state your opinion as coherently as possible.

  17. Squiggler says:

Ken you really should get your information about Iraq from the Iraqis and from those who have boots on the ground instead of from the NYT, the mouthpiece of the terrorists.

The Iraqis are officially requesting we stay at least one more year. And polls of Iraqis run 70-90% in favor of the Americans. Even the Sunnis are in the plus category, albeit 70% as opposed to 90% of the rest of the country.

  18. Ken says:

Wrong. Squiggler. The latest poll shows a 64% approval rate among Iraqis for insurgent attacks on US troops.

  19. Ken says:

brush up on your polls, Squiggler. here’s the latest
somber study and everyhting you claim is wrong.

  20. Ken says:

Strata, I’m not “acting” like I understand what I’m talking about
when it comes to Iraq and Middle East policy. Are you? But thanks for the encouragement.
