US Election Year In Iraq
The news violence is spreading in Iraq in the run up to our elections this fall is only news to the leftward fever swamps who contiously incite the violence as they call for the US to pull out of Iraq BECAUSE of the violence. Violence has increased every election year in the hopes it will make the US cry ‘uncle’ and leave Iraq to Al Qaeda. When will these lefties learn they are killing people with their calls to cut and run? I would hate to think they just don’t care about people in Iraq dying, as long as they can win some congressional seats…..
Problem is, leaked CIA Reports say US occupation is
CAUSE not CURE of violence. Al Qaeda can be better dealt with
by the local population. Al Qaeda, according to the reports and
to such as Mike Scheuer, is recruiting many more worldwide,
as a result of Moslem anger at the occupation, enough to
fight us both THERE and HERE. We are dealing with Vietnam
only worse in Iraq. Inevitable defeat, and the neocons can’t
seem to grasp it.

Vietnam and the neocon adventurists are worse than the
hawks in 1972 who clamored to stay in Vietnam, refusing to
accept defeat.

That would be the same Scheuer who has been covering his butt for all his mistakes leading up to 9-11, of course. He ran the Bin Laden group in the CIA. The one that screwed up.

I wish I had some swamp ground to sell you. Tell me, if Bush really thought that a report like that was accurate and he could bring home troops and bring violence down, why wouldn’t he? It could only him politically to accomplish both of those goals.
In truth I expect there are terrorists all over Iraq rooting for the Democrats, after all they have the same goals. Iraqi failure, Bush failure and an end to democracy in the Arab world.

And I suppose Ken, that being in Iraq now has a back to the future quality as the hatred has been building for over 30 years….and the WTC1 was just a love note…as were the bombings of our embassies in the ’90’s and the US Cole in ’96…no hatred involved with those…sarc off.
Answer this Ken, WHY DO THE *TERRORISTS* WANT US OUT OF IRAQ? They wouldn’t be scared of a democracy there, now would they?

The problem with the democrats if that they not only have closed minds, but they do not understand either economics or that for every action there will always be a reaction or several reactions. All this talk of bringing the boys home is all about votes. If they can bring the boys home now, we would have failed in Iraq. But better than that George Bush’s presidency would be a failure. That is their only goal. Never mind the failure and non safety of the US. It is too bad the neurotic left has such a loud voice in the media.

It’s clear that you learned the wrong lessons from Viet Nam. By recklessly abandoning South Viet Nam, and halting its funding, the Left brought about a massive slaughter there and in Cambodia. As Barbara has observed, the Left has much to answer for in the Viet Nam period.

The only people who defeated America in Vietnam, were the American
leftists, Jane Fonda, Walter Cronkite, Ramsey Clark, the new york times, and the other leftist media. The VVAW, with support from
the American Communist party, Moscow, Hanoi, and the leadership
of John Kerry, who appeared in front of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations on 22 Apr 1971 and announced that he had met with America’s enemies in Paris and agreed with their surrender terms. Then the Democrats cut all funding for South Vietnam and the American left had won. North Vietnam generals commented
after the war that they would not have continued to fight after their losses during Tet 68, except for the support from the American left.
Just like Vietnam, the American military will win in Iraq, but the American left and their media supporters seek to defeat America.
Inevitable defeat is assured if the American voters vote for the
party of defeat, the American Left.

Scheuer says on FOX that his unit told Clinton many times that he should kill Bin Laden and gave him chances to do it.
Scheuer feels we have to have more troops and fight a lot more viciously and kill a lot more people–ie really crush them mercilessly.
He feels that the terrorists fight us because of our policies in the ME, tho’ he underscores that he is not saying these policies are wrong.
Scheurer and some others think it is laughable that they are portrayed as liberals. He votes Republican, he said on TV and is conservative by nature.
He has been critical of both Clinton and Bush.
He says the solution is to make a much bigger committment. I think that the CIA people and others did worry that this war would be more than the public would want to deal with and that half-measures might just make things worse.
