Hezbollah And Al Qaeda Have A Long History

Published by at 10:25 am under All General Discussions,Bin Laden/GWOT

This is a very important piece of reporting – if accurate.

Intelligence reports, telephone intercepts, court documents as well as books and other open sources document a tactical alliance between the Middle East’s two most dangerous terrorist groups, Hezbollah and al Qaeda, which began in the late 1990’s.

The primary link, like in most of al Qaeda’s efforts, began on the personal front – with bin Laden, befriending and working closely with Hezbollah’s military chief, Imad Mughniyah, one of the world’s most wanted terrorists.

That relationship grew and led to training sessions conducted by Hezbollah for al Qaeda operatives.

There is much, much more. I have no idea if this site or organization is on the up and up, but they do list all their sources which would be easy to verify. The article relates the long history between Al Qaeda and Hezbollah, which makes the current conflict more than just a Israeli-only concern. And ithat ties back to the Al Qaeda connections to Iran and probably Syria. If this is true, then we need to ask why our vaunted media (just kidding folks – I know better) missed all these connections.

Addendum:Here is a Washington Post article from June 2002 confirming some of these ties. More here, here and here. Clearly I was not paying attention.

I have found Counterterrorism blog to be quite good. Notice the dates of this information 1998, 2000. So if 2,000 people were trained in Afganistan, who were they? I think leaders and foot soldiers from every group we see today causing such destruction. Be they Sunni or Shea, it does not matter, they have joined in common cause, and will fight it out later for land that they want to control.

AJ–You should see the video on lgf about Islam and the Nazis. It is quite remarkable.

    AJ,
You may be on to something here. Such a connection means:
    • An end to the myth that Sunnis and Shia never cooperate.
    • That this terrorist connection predated the Iraqi War
    • More proof that al Qaeda wasn’t limited to Afghanistan

This connection just like the al Qaeda-Iraq connections, exposed by Steven Hayes, needs illumination so the media can’t blur the relevance.

Ditto on Kathie’s comment — I haven’t checked the LGF video yet, but I’m aware of the Islam-Nazi connection, and it goes back to the 1930’s rise of Hitler, that is, the FORMAL agreements.

Mark Levine had some commentary on a recent radio broadcast, he cited the Tell the Children the Truth site for full transcripts (I’ll check for the site address, don’t recall it offhand, but I do recall it as having solid info), with something I didn’t know: Arafat changed his name back in the 1950’s to side-step general awareness of his close familial ties to Hitler’s mufti, al Banna (Hussein; Google “banna nazi” or “nazi banna” — I’ve forgotten which — if you’re not familiar with what that means).

The bummer in some of this is that we — CIA following the old OSS, at the instigation of UK’s MI6 — did some serious cultivation of the Muslim Brotherhood post WWII to get a leg up on KGB and the Soviets. What we didn’t know at the time, was that the entire caper was steered to and through MI6 by Kim Philby. Some of the Doctor(s) Frankenstein were on our payroll.

You might want to look at the transcripts and trial testimony of Ali Mohammad from the 1998 East Africa Embassy bombing trials. In it (as part of his allocution) he claimed to have provided security for Hezb’allah members during their meetings with OBL in Khartoum. Another source might be Cofer Black’s testimony to the 9/11 Commission.

Sorry don’t have a links handy

Here’s a link to the “childrenthetruth” site, and they have links and sources listed. Lot’s of material there.

I didn’t know Saddam Hussein married his first cousin? Think that explains anything?
