Democrats Retreat On Iraq

Instead of forcing America to retreat from Iraq, Democrat Senators retreated en mass themselves on the call to retreat from Iraq in another blow to the ‘cut and run’ and the credibility of the left in this country:

The Senate overwhelmingly rejected a call this afternoon for withdrawal of most American combat troops from Iraq by the end of the year as the debate in both houses of Congress mixed high emotion with calculated maneuvering. The 93-to-6 vote came after a maneuver by Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the second-ranking Republican, who introduced a measure that he said was taken from a proposal by Senator John Kerry, Democrat of Massachusetts, calling for President Bush to agree with the new Iraqi government on a timetable to withdraw most troops by Dec. 31.

This really destroys the left who scream at the base for immediate withdrawl but vote just the opposite from the political leadership.  It is clear elected democrats are simply trying to hide the views of their base and their media partners.  And they are doing a really poor job of keeping the truth hidden.  93 to 6!  that is 5%, where 20% of this country is rabid liberal and anti-war.
