Immediate Action Could Have Saved American Lives In Benghazi

Published by at 3:07 pm under All General Discussions,Obama's War In Libya

Some of the dumbest excuses I have heard about what went wrong in Benghazi was help could not make it in time to save our 4 brave Americans under attack.

That is pure BS.

We are  talking a battle that raged for hours and moved from one location to another. We are talking about tee-shirt wearing terrorist thugs with small arms.  We are talking about what a terrorist on the ground could do against the air power of America.

Would any sane person keep attacking in the open when a few of these arrived on the scene?

This is an F-22 Raptor, capable of extended hypersonic cruise. In other words it can get on the scene quick.  Shockingly quick. And its machines guns and bird’s eye view would be enough to disperse 500 ‘men’ on the ground with assault rifles.

Or how about if one or two of these showed up?

These puppies have taken out numerous Jihadis from incredible heights. Those 50 caliber Gatling guns would have sent the attackers in Benghazi running for the hills.

I am not alone in this view – by a long shot:

“I believe if we had been able to scramble a fighter or aircraft or two over Benghazi as quickly as possible after the attack commenced, I believe there would not have been a mortar attack on the annex in the morning because I believe the Libyans would have split,” he said. “They would have been scared to death that we would have gotten a laser on them and killed them.”

We did not need a huge show of force, just a rapid show if overwhelming force.  Either of these would have bought time for ground/security forces to arrive. Check out this video:

Of course, if the security was at the proper level in the first place….

This why whoever delayed taking action pretty much damned those Americans to death.  They were fighting back waiting for the cavalry they knew we had, and someone held the cavalry back.

“Our sources tell us that of the issues that will be cleared up tomorrow is whether or not Department of Defense was ordered to ‘stand-down,’ and by whom.”

No supporter of BHO, but it is useful to recall that the nearest F-22s were on another continent at the time, and the AC-130 lumbers along at about 300 kts. Of course other assets were available, and if Barry had the press that Nixon had, he would already be packing his bags. As it is, he is probably packing for another golfing vacation.

Source: Only President Could Have Made ‘Stand Down’ Call On Benghazi

“A source with intimate information about the events that happened on the ground in Benghazi the night the U.S. Consulate and the CIA annex was attacked by terrorists told Breitbart News that, ultimately, only the President of the United States, or someone acting on his authority, could have prevented Special Forces either on the ground or nearby from helping those Americans who were under deadly assault. “

We are all less safe due to this Administrations refusal to acknowledge that the enemy is radical Islam! Ft. Hood was not work place violence, Benghazi was not due to the exercising of first amendment rights in a You Tube Video, Boston was a botched national security disaster due to the Feral Govts refusal to investigate multiple leads and warnings. This is Liberalism putting us all at risk just as Gorelick and Clintoon ushered in the original 9/11 through their malfeasance and politically correct assumptions.
Our enemies know our leader is a eunuch incapable of making a decision, a puppet dancing to the string pulling of his Iranian Muslim handler, V Jarret! Impeach the lying POTUS and slap Cankels in cuffs. Jail was the answer for Scooter Libby and Martha Stewart, no less should apply for Obama and Hillary!

Idiots like Tregonsee assume that it was KNOWN how long the attack was going to last. in fact, Amb. Stevens and Sean Smith were killed in the first hour. the two SEALs who disobeyed the standdown order took two survivors back to the CIA bldg, where 30 Americans were. the SEALs were ncot killed until hour 9 or 10, as a result of sporadic mortar fire. it is only dumb luck that the towelheads did not press a vigorous attack on the CIA bldg at any time. there were over 100 muzzies with mortars, RPGs, and heavy machine guns. they could have likely have killed all the Americans if they had made an allout assault.
thus, anytime during the first 8 hours, a US response by air likely would have scattered the muzzies. am I piercing the void, Tregonsee??

There a some very damning details left out so far. The embassy had several dozen people there at the time the attack started. The four Marines from the nearby CIA outpost managed to go in and extract most of those personnel after telling the order-makers to go F’ themselves. This means that the administration made the decision that left nearly 30 people to die or become hostages. Those Marines, two who died in thier effort, reduced the overall death count to 4.

The President of the United States, perpetuated and condoned a lie to the American people.
You don’t leave Americans behind……at the very least you try.
That, Mrs. Clinton, is why it makes a difference, now and then.

It didn’t take much googling to find this: The idea that the military couldn’t get air support to Benghazi within a couple of hours (probably less) is laughable. Beghazi is about 1,000km east of Tripoli. It’s well known that navy assets were stationed off the coast of Libya from early last year. USS Stout and USS Barry were probably still on station both can embark Seahawks. They probably plopped themselves somewhere in the Mediterranean between Tripoli and Benghazi. Let’s say 750km. So then flight times are as follows: Seahawk – about 3 hours, AC-130 – about 1 and a half hours, F22 Raptor about 20 minutes (supercruising at Mach 1.8). Obviously, commands and airborne prep times need to be added. But it’s also known that special forces had already carried out operations in Benghazi last year as well. What I don’t understand is why no one in the Administration or State Department didn’t react within a couple of hours. WTF were they doing? Unless this is just another pure example of a royal FUBAR. Otherwise, I just don’t get it. But that’s all history now, what matters is the cover up perpetrated on the American people in order to save POTUS political ass. The cover up altered the outcome. If the vote were taken today, POTUS would not be POTUS. What really makes me sick is the media. They are tools.

I don’t know where the Mediterranean U S Navy Aircraft carriers were at the time, whether at sea or in port. If one of them were at sea, they could launch within one hour and have planes over Benghazi within a short time. They just didn’t want to get help there, or it would have been there
