Good For NBC

Published by at 10:45 am under All General Discussions,Trayvon Martin Case

In what should be a normal occurrence when any news organization evidence of misinformation in a story (see RaThergAte), we are now living in a day and age when we find the rooting out of liars a rare and special event. With so much bias and filtered news out there (filtered to hide the full story, or all sides of the debate, or miss the fact pronouncements of ‘truth’ are standing on foundations of massive scientific uncertainty, etc – all lies of omission) it truly is a spectacle to behold when a fraud is canned in today’s news business:

NBC News has fired a producer who was involved in the production of a misleading segment about the Trayvon Martin case in Florida.

The segment in question was shown on the “Today” show on March 27. It included audio of Mr. Zimmerman saying, “This guy looks like he’s up to no good. He looks black.”

This guy looks like he’s up to no good. Or he’s on drugs or something. It’s raining and he’s just walking around, looking about.” Then the dispatcher asked, “O.K., and this guy — is he white, black or Hispanic?” Only then did Mr. Zimmerman say, “He looks black.”

If there is positive evidence for George Zimmerman in any this mess it is this segment of the 9-11 tapes. He does not appear (as of yet) to even know if Trayvon is black or not. The ‘looks’ caveat in his off-the-cuff response indicates uncertainty. Hit does not sound or appear to be laced with anger (yet – that does come later in the call when he starts to chase Trayvon down).

I applaud NBC for its quick and decisive action. One wonders, then, how buffoons like this keep getting paid millions of dollars to spout similar misinformation:

The news media has a long road back to ‘respectable’.

Here is another analysis of the NBC News Friday night nameless producer dump, via Breitbart.

  2. Redteam says:

thanks for the link, jan: From that link:”With their Friday night “nameless producer” dump, NBC News has only disgraced itself more, and still the network insists that the malicious edit was an “error” and not done deliberately, which of course is absolute nonsense. ”

NBC only gets credit for being the most biased news organization in the USA. We’re going to learn that they are lying. They did not fire anyone and they have not apologized to Zimmerman.

As stated above, every person in the world knows that NBC did not commit an error, they intended to do exactly what they did. They just didn’t expect the liberals that love them to call them on it. They figured the libs would think it was great to stoke the racial fires in this incident.

So I only will only wish NBC continued dismal ratings and poor viewership.

That Breitbart article really does put it into perspective. This scandal isn’t over yet.

  4. jan says:

I even read the Breitbart piece to my husband, and he felt it was a great analysis of the whole sordid NBC affair.

Like the article brought out, how do people even know the producer was dismissed, if he/she remains nameless? And, like someone carrying a virus, they can blightly go out (if, indeed fired) and infect another media event with their bias, undeterred!

I have yet to see any evidence that Zimmerman “chases” anyone down. As far as I know, he lost sight of the guy, reports the guy’s last known location and direction of travel to the police and then starts walking back toward his truck. At this point he is apparently attacked and beaten by Martin.

  6. crosspatch says:

He apparently took quite a beating from Martin, too, before he finally shot him. His head was beaten into the sidewalk, he cried for help, then he shot him. The story reported to the first responding officer and the stories of two witnesses has not changed since the first interview with police. I am convinced that Martin attacked Zimmerman, not the other way around.

  7. phaedruscj says:

hmmm NBC is not the only one who is convinced of Martins guilt right mr strata

Hows your so call ed voice expert Owens holding up to scrutiny aj?

  8. AJStrata says:

    CP,

You seemed to have missed a lot of evidence. The incident happened between too apartment buildings in the common area, away from the street. Apparently Trayvon either ducked off the street to get away from Zimmerman and/or was heading to where he was staying.

This REQUIRED Zimmerman to get out of his truck, grabbing his gun, and go after Trayvon behind the buildings.

There are also indications that the fight scene was not close to any concrete path.

For all you Zimmerman supporters wishing to wait and see the evidence, suggest you start practicing your preaching 😉

I wouldn’t necessarily call anyone a ‘Zimmerman supporter.’ What I have read here, along with my own bias evolvement (veering away from it was Zimmerman’s fault to seeing Martin being more in the mix of his own death) is a skeptism of what really happened.

Basically, what Zimmerman has testified to, backed up by 2-3 witnesses, doesn’t jive with how the rush-to-judgment MSM and black community is interpreting this event. That is problematic for me. Neither you nor anyone on this site was present that night. So, you are corrct in saying “to wait and see the evidence,” something people have mostly failed to do from the onset of this tragedy.

  10. Redteam says:

I agree, I have not made up my mind (passed judgment) because I haven’t heard all the evidence, but I have heard enough to feel even stronger that there will never be an indictment. The DA (or in this case, special prosecutor) don’t like to be wrong, so it will all be put on the Grand Jury, where no indictment will be forthcoming. On the other hand, if the evidence were clear cut, the special prosecutor would ‘be happy’ to take credit, but will never do so because just the evidence that has been publicized, which ‘is not official’ is overwhelming in favor of Martin being guilty of assault on Zimmerman, but, right now, it’s all opinion. The Grand Jury is convening Tuesday and we’ll see what comes from that.
    Hadn’t seen this before,
“The incident happened between too apartment buildings in the common area, away from the street.”
but I have heard “There are also indications that the fight scene was not close to any concrete path.” but have not heard that it was on any police investigation report.
I’m looking forward to hearing the actual evidence from the police and special prosecutor, it’ll be interesting.

  11. Redteam says:

One caveat, the Grand Jury might actually indict from fear of a riot, but a conviction by a jury is very unlikely.

  12. WWS says:

this case is such a mess that there’s no way to know for sure what any of the evidence is. Which means it’s folly to buy into anybody’s guesses as to what may or may not have happened. Let the local authorities figure it out, and leave it at that.

And if they say no charges should be filed, then accept that they know more about the real evidence than any of us whose only access is slanted internet reports.

  13. jan says:

Redteam —> “the Grand Jury might actually indict from fear of a riot, “

We’re thinking along the same lines again, as that has been lingering in the back of my mind, too.

Much of the black community has already indicted Zimmerman. If a Grand Jury should come up with evidence that disproves their already hardened opinion of this case, they very well could take it to the streets, with the mantra “No justice, no peace” blaring, like what happened in the LA riots because of the Rodney King verdict. I remember those times, as I was here and the racial tension in the county of LA was incredible!

  14. Redteam says:

Just watched the video of the attack on the tourist in Baltimore. I’m sure the People of Baltimore are going to rise up and demand that these thugs be arrested and charged with a hate crime. What other possible reason could there be for what happened. And I’m sure that we are all expecting Obama to weigh in on it and talk about how his son might have looked like one of the thugs, no, wait, that’s not likely. Well, you get the drift……….

  15. jan says:

That Baltimore video was posted on polipundit, which is where I saw it. I can’t believe that no one helped the guy. He was completely humiliated by those thugs, and no one did anything! I kept thinking that if they changed colors of the people involved, how might the media have treated this? Would there have been outrage…or silence, like seems to be the case as it now stands?

  16. WWS says:

hey, that Baltimore thing was just the 99% going after the 1%, right? That’s what Obama’s all about.

  17. Frogg1 says:

AJ, the fight did take place between the buildings in the common area; however, there was a sidewalk that runs down the middle of that area. One witness interviewed by Ashleigh Banfield said that the part of the fight she saw was about four feet from the concrete sidewalk (she was one of the 911 callers — an ear witness for most of it). It’s not hard to imagine that part of the fight could have taken place on the concrete starting with the first punch. I think Trayvon could have possibly hidden in that area for a while before he appeared again. He could have either reappeared to defend himself (thinking Zimmerman saw him again); or, to confront Zimmerman. We may never know. I’ll leave that up to the investigation. He was also very close to his own home. Some think he even had enough time to go home and then come back to the fight scene based on the timeline. Who knows? But, either way, there was a concrete sidewalk feet away from the shooting site.

  18. Frogg1 says:

    About that Balitmore attack video:

I’m glad the guy was too drunk to remember what happened. And, I’m glad that people on the street the next day were embarassed/ashamed this happened in their city. I hope they catch the SOB’s who did it and put their arses in jail for a long time. It was shameful behavior.

Congressman on MTP Calls Out NBC and Lawrence O‘Donnell for Saying ’Nasty Things’ About Mormonism
    http://www.theblaze.com/stories/congressman-on-mtp-calls-out-nbc-and-lawrence-odonnell-for-saying-nasty-things-about-mormonism/

“Look at your own network. MSNBC, you have Lawrence O’Donnell just saying some really nasty things about the Mormon religion, about the founding of our religion, that it was based on some guy just waking up some morning and deciding that… he wanted, he had an extra-marital affair, and that’s how the religion was founded. There’s some really nasty things already being said by your own network, by NBC.”
