Poli-Implosion

Published by at 6:53 pm under All General Discussions

Want to see what happens when someone becomes so emotionally obsessed they cannot face or deal with reality anymore? Differences of opinions all of a sudden become a reason to destroy longtime relationships. Poli Pundit is not accepting the reality that his some times disturbing positions on immigration are not being accepted. So he his banning dissent from his reality. What a pathetic act of denial.

Sorry Poli, without your guest bloggers I see little reason to have you on my blogroll. Addendum: DJ Drummond discusses the fall out here, Lori Byrd here. No word on where Jayson or Alexander McClure landed. Polipundit the site seems to be off the air as well.

AJ, I hadn’t visited Polipundit in probably a year or more. Wow, what a meltdown!

There is obviously going to be a lot of discussion about the immigration issue between now and the election. I follow it on several sites, and I’m already starting to sense some consensus beginning to build between the Center Right and Center Left. The main bone of contention still seems to be whether a guest worker program should be one of the initial steps or whether the tide of illegals needs to be stemmed before a guest worker program can even be addressed. Of course there are still the extremists on the far Right that want to line up the semi tractor trailers and freight cars and begin mass deportations, but more and more people are beginning to realize that that’s just not realistic. The smug bastards on the Left, of course, are just sitting tight, not offering ANY solutions, trying not to offend anyone, and hoping this whole issue propels them back into power, and if a lot of Conservatives don’t climb back on the reality train in the next 6 months, that’s exactly what’s gong to happen.

Look at it this way, if we decide to do both at the same time, which Bush has … getting troops on the border can be done literally overnight. Getting a guest worker program is going to take at least a year to get running so by default, the border operations will happen first.

Well said Retired Spook, and I’m with you AJ on removing Poli from the Blogroll. I did it last night. I appreciate his right to run his blog the way he wants, so now he can talk to himself. This issue needs discussion, it is going to need cooperation and compromise. I say come on centrists of both parties and the moderate libertarians, do we really want to hand the reigns of government over to the looney left, the Kos Kiddies, and Nancy Pelozi, Dick Durbin, Harry Reid and Ted Kennedy? Because if you don’t wake up quick, that’s exactly what is going to happen and then I’m going to be mad as hell at you. So get a grip. Get on board and contribute meaniful discussion.

Hi, Mr. AJ, first of all I would like to thank you for your site and post today about all to be thankful for. When sane, calm headed people, not the fast food, toss it out folks, really sit down and really recall what we have been thru and especially President Bush over the last five years, I almost want to cry and almost pull my hair out. We are at war. It is shameful that sooooo many on the left and right have forgotten what happened. I lived in the Pocono Mts., Pa on that day and was watching FOX when it happened and to this day, loud noises, phones ringing make me jump. These crazies are still out there and are still looking to kill us and as many as possible. I am a news junkie and I have gone over there to the add/delete and I AM NO COMPETER GEEK, by any means and dropped Poli from my list.
You see all this tech stuff, I like, but, I am in the dark ages, I struggle and keep on trying to learn asap, but sometimes, I could stand on the chair and it would still go over my head.
thanks to you and Mrs. L and another pal Spook and mac too
    Jackie

AJ: The whole situation over at Polipundit is disgraceful. I guess his message to the others was they could carry his water for him but when it came to illegal immigration it was his way or the highway. Let’s see what happens to his site now as all the readers who traveled there daily no longer show up.

Lorie has changed the name of her site to LoriByrd.com now and DJ is at Stolen Thunder. Their traffic certainly picked up today and I for one hope it continues to do so.

Thanks for taking Poli off your blogroll. For me it is one less reminder of the far right wing of the party. Opinions are always fine, vitriol is never welcome by most.

Rage seeks to destroy. And that, it is doing.

I am sick to death thinking of how some people may treat Mexicans now…looking at them and thinking ugly thoughts…and accusatory stares…

An ugliness has overcome us…and shame on those for fanning those flames…of base emotion.

All of the above posts I agree with. I could not have said it better. Thank you for your insight.

It is people like you, AJ, myself and others that have to remind voters, our family, friends, etc. how important it is to prevent a Reid senate and a Pelosi house.

If the democratic party was not so radical, pathetic and willing to sell our national security for votes, it would not be as vital for the GOP to win in Nov. We can not lose this battle because with the donks at the reins, we will lose the war on terror.

This is an object lesson in what happens when hatred goes unchecked. Polipundit is discovering that once the demon is set loose, it consumes it’s host and everything the host cares about first. (in this case, a blog and a reputation he’s spent years cultivating) This is the exact lesson that the arab world is finally beginning to absorb – the jihadis wanted to destroy their enemies, but they have only destroyed themselves. At least now Poli knows how a jihadi feels the moment after he pulls the cord on his suicide belt.

Times like these and issues like these force everyone to face their own inner demons. You either defeat them or are defeated by them.

Roonent1, this is a VITALLY important issue of which the average person on the street is totally oblivious. If Republicans don’t exploit the Dems dismal record on national security between now and November, then I guess they deserve to lose. Better buckle your seat belts if that happens, cause it’s gonna be a bumpy ride. Having spent most of my Navy career dealing with security matters, this is one of my main concerns. The Dems proved, under Clinton, that they just don’t have a clue about how to, IMO, exercise their NUMBER ONE responsibility, to keep the american people safe. If we are not safe, not much else matters.

Many any of my more moderate Democrat friends breathed a collective sigh of relief on 9/12/01 that Al Gore wasn’t President. In fact, I have a couple pretty far left friends, and even they weren’t saying “Gee, we sure wish Gore had won” (Well, actually, they WERE saying Gore had won — hell, they still are — but at that point even they weren’t sorry that he wasn’t President) I’m sure many of you witnessed the same thing. That spoke volumes to me about who we want controlling the levers of power.
