Some Find It Hard To Believe AQ Lost Iraq

Published by at 1:32 pm under All General Discussions,Iraq

Some are having a tough time embracing the idea that Al Qaeda are on their heels in Iraq and are on the verge of complete collapse – but it is happening:

The U.S. military published late on Monday what it said was a captured al Qaeda document that showed the militant group recognised it was weak and unpopular in Baghdad.

…

Security experts reacted with caution and scepticism to its publication, noting a long-running public opinion battle between the United States and the Iraqi government it backs on the one side and Sunni Arab insurgents including al Qaeda on the other.

“I have a question mark to say the least,” said Mustafa Alani, an Iraqi senior consultant of the Gulf Research Center based in Dubai. “Who wrote this, we don’t know.”

“It is true that they (al Qaeda in Iraq) have problems but why produce such a document to highlight the problems?” he said.

“Why admit all the weaknesses in a written document?”

Well, if you are need of support or are preparing to bugger out you need to explain to your superiors what your reasoning is.  But the fact is the Sunnis are shunning Al Qaeda:

Alani said al Qaeda had lost public support in Iraq and was now also losing the backing of the domestic Iraqi resistance to U.S. occupation, which he said felt it had an interest in the political process, unlike Zarqawi.

“I believe we are now witnessing some kind of gradual divergence between the two movements,” he said, adding al Qaeda faced difficulties both with recruiting and logistics in Iraq.

Seems to me we are now only debating the pace and how far down the hill Al Qaeda has fallen.  But they are clearly falling.

The document published by the U.S. military showed the unknown author putting the strength of active fighters, referred to as “mujahideen” or holy warriors, at about 110 in Baghdad.

“These are very small numbers compared to the tens of thousands of the enemy troops,” it [AQ] said.

“How can we increase these numbers?”

Hmm, you blew up all your recruits in wasted suicide murder attacks, attacks which did not accomplish a thing strategically, and now you have run low on Human Bombs….  Can’t find anymore recruits…. Tough one.  Let me think about what your problem may be and get back to you on this one – OK?

All the terrorists can do is LOCAL terror! How do they do this? They take advantage of the fact that islam is based on tribe and family. You belong to the CULT. And, no light comes in.

That one group blows up another? And, you’re surprised?

Mosques hold guerilla’s, and you’re suprirsed?

The American military was told not to touch Sadr. (An illiterate ignoramous, by the way). So we steer clear of their holy sites, and their fakers.)

That’s why things are blowing up on the local stage.

That the sunni’s are angry? You bet they are! They were not only Saddam’s “peace keepers” … they belong to the saudi faction. As does the palestinians).

And, under the radar for most people, is the fact that ALL of the sunnis have been chased out of Baghdad. That’s one of the purposes of Sadr. If he can own the city, he can own the country.

Even though more intelligent Iraqis are beginning to notice America’ by and large flagging interest in them.

Well, I also don’t care what happens to the french.

Beats me why I’d have to care?

The Kurds are our friends. And, the Kurds in Iraq are doing well. Even the rumor mongers among the shi’ites notice this. While they choose to condemn the Kurds for getting along with the Americans. EVEN WHEN THEY SEE THE KURDS ARE THRIVING!

How will things proceed? Just as they do on our highways. Most cars use the artery to come and go. Getting on and off. But accidents still happen. The best societies provide clean up care. In other words, those who get hit can anticipate the police showing up. Followed by rescue vehicles.

In Iraq no such organization exists.

And, in Iraq when you try to build infrastructure the habits of the arabs show through. THEY TALK A GOOD GAME! They even tell you want you want to hear. And, they sign contracts. Their failure is in DELIVERY. Instead, they try to throw you over a barrel, and pick your pockets. All along the way. From the first stages, to the last. Delivery is not in their makeup. Why is that? Arabs, for some reason, feel superior when they can snooker “infidels.” When they can sucker ya, you make their day.

Lousy days up ahead for as far as the eye can see.

But a great learning curve for our military! If we should ever have to deal with insurrections in our own streets, we’re learning how to operate in the jungle.

The losses to our military have been very low. About 4% of the total. Where in WW2 it was closer to 10% in the loss department.

I don’t think Bush will withdraw.

And, I do think that there are some solutions; while not terrific, still are giving heartburn to Sadr. And, his ilk. You want better? It doesn’t get better.

Militaries do way better to have real experience, than what we had blowing up an island off the coast of Puerto Rico. Notice we don’t hear about that, anymore?

How long can conflict last? As long as we want to keep our military primed.

Oh, yeah. The donks keep losing altitude. But like in the old days, when doctors purposely lied to cancer victims? Do you know what changed? Doctors discovered their patients knew anyway. And, all lying corrupts is TRUST. Doctors, just like everybody else, learn the benefits of TRUST. Quite a two-way street, ya know?
