President Bluffs With Abysmal Hand

Published by at 11:29 am under All General Discussions

President Obama says no to a short term debt ceiling deal and no deal at all without huge tax increases.

OK, call his bluff – because the polls are damn clear on this. The people want cuts not tax increases. The Obama administration has wasted nearly $5 trillion dollars in additional debt since coming into office – without any positive economic results. DC can no longer be trusted with our money and it needs to be shrunk back down to size. If Obama is dumb enough to think America has not turned the corner after the shellacking in 2010, so be it. The 2×4 will continue to be applied until he does get it.

This is a no brainer. Time for the spines to get stiff and for the GOP to pass a resolution they prefer – and dare the Dems in the Senate to defeat it (they won’t – trust me). Then dare Obama to veto it (he will, he is that politically ignorant).

Then start passing budgets which fit to the current funds available. Do the right thing and the American people will lay the blame at the steps of the White House.

I don’t know, AJ. There’s a part of me that wants the Republicans to give Obama a tax increase.

On Democrats. And only on Democrats.

And he really needs to get off the soapbox about people paying their fair share of taxes — I don’t need a deadbeat telling me what my fair share is.

There is one tax increase I would agree with and that is a tax on anyone living in this country and not paying any income taxes. Calculate the per person cost of running our country as a starting point and if you don’t have the money then you should donate your time (can’t be that busy if you aren’t paying taxes) to offset the cost of these government services. And then maybe we will be able to differentiate between needs and wants.

Only when people are held accountable and have to make a sacrifice out of their own pocket or calendar will we get a reasonable approach to government. Riling up one side to rob from the other is neither presidential nor morally righteous.

he is clearly bluffing … and for what ? Tax increases ? really ?

    I do think he’ll sign a smaller/shorter package …

as it goes thru the House/Senate the media will trump about the deal being done for days … no way he can veto it …

Some men bluff because they look at the situation and see a way they can win that their opponents have missed – Bill Clinton was a master of this move.

But other men bluff simply because they’re too stupid to understand the risks and too unimiginative to be able to think of anything else to do.

I think I know which type of man Obama is.

Maybe this Four Flusher of a pResident has decided that if he can’t have huge tax increases and he knows he and his Demrats won’t approve ANY entitlement cuts, then he might as well take the next best thing which is a line item executive machette to spending.

Can you imagine the subsidies and tax incentives to Republican leaning industries he can gut?
Oil, Coal, gas, farm, military, airline?

Maybe he thinks this allows him more social engineering by cutting ungreen, environut unfavorable industries.

Hand the control freak the knife and bet your ass no union funds or Green energy get cut.

Kinda like the auto dealers that got shut down, all republicans.

He already shut down NASA and the latest fighter how about Ford and toyota next.

  6. kathie says:

RCP has Obama at 46.3…….lowest ever!

Maybe Obama doesn’t think that the general public has a clue about spending, the debt, new taxes…….but he is wrong. We know that he has driven this country into the ditch and has plans to drive it even further.

We will stop him. He and his government don’t own us as human beings, he and his government don’t own what we earn. And he and his government will not tell Americans what is fair to keep and what we must give to Obama and his hair brain schemes.

Send this silly man back to Chicago, please.

Drudgereport now reports that Obama is repositioning himself as centrist. Hopefully, the majority of Americans have gotten smart enough to vote against him.

  8. crosspatch says:

Hey, AJ, got a few minutes to visit a bit sometime in the next few days? I’ll be in your neck of the woods. I think you have my email address.

  9. lurker9876 says:

“I’m only talking about raising taxes in 2013 or 2014.” Same as what he said during lame duck last December.

That should kill his re-election chances but then some lefties still believe in him.

Although there’s that one American Thinker article that implies that the left’s support of Obama is starting to erode…not radical enough for them.

Kathie…46.3%…. is not really that bad, and not bad at all, considering how crappy the economy is. Given the fact that about 30% of the voting public, the moderates, centrists etc will vote which-ever way the wind is blowing, or for who ever is the most smooth talking, that places him well within striking distance. 36% well that would be cause for concern for O.

Lurker, unfortunately the majority of Americans never “get smart” His move to the center will fool enough rino type centrists.

It’s too early to count him in our out. I am happy Bachmann is polling first in Iowa.

  11. MerlinOS2 says:

This isn’t just about the debt limit debate he is now in full campaign mode and that is obvious.

  12. dhunter says:

OBlahBLah knows full well he cannot muster the votes to cut any increases, and thats’ what we are talking about here, cuts in already allocated borrowed money, for SOCIAL programs.

His democrats and a few RINOs will not allow any paring back of already allocated, borrowed, and promised funds for increased welfare,…. entitlements.

He is merely posturing knowing full well a deal can’t be reached and attempting to make himself look the reasonable Won when he in fact caused this problem by tripling the debt and raising the yearly deficit to 1.5 trillion.

NOW HE WILL RELISH GETTING THE BUDGET CUTTING CHAIN SAW OUT WHEN A DEBT INCREASE DOES NOT PASS AND USING IT TO CUT DOWN ONLY REPUBLICAN TREES.

He will attack business incentives and private sector susidies all the while leaving Union and entitlement programs to grow and to hamstring the private sector and taxpaying citizens.

IT IS WHAT SOCIALISTS DO. FORCE SOCIALISM ON AN UNWILLING, UNWITTING POPULACE!

OBlahBlah is Union Inc. with the full force and thuggery of the mob backed unions behind him.

THIS oughtta be fun, but it has to happen, else we just go down without a fight and a wimper.

  13. Frogg1 says:

Brilliant, AJ. Sometimes the best thing to do …..is to just do the right thing. However, didn’t they alredy pass Paul Ryan’s plan?

  14. lurker9876 says:

    So…is Mitch smart or what?

Ya think Mitch pushed the punt back on obama’s lap?

Obama and the Dems were so unwilling to do the right thing and compromise so there….make sure that the mainstream media had no ammunition to put the blame on the GOP.

    Whadda think?

  15. oneal lane says:

Given the megaphone of the MSM, Obama is sitting pretty. He is out scaring SS recipiants now about their August checks. This is a tough act to beat. Scaring entitlement voters always seems to work well.

    Will the GOP cave?
