Strata-Sphere Performance

Published by at 8:09 am under All General Discussions

Folks, again sorry for the degraded performance of the site. We have never fully recovered from one of our Word Press upgrades. We hope to get a chance to fix things up this weekend. Also, my apologies for the light posting. I have landed on a project that is struggling on a massive scale. So it is consuming a lot of my time and I just don’t have the cycles to keep up with the news, let alone write about it.

Hopefully things will settle back down soon and maybe the new Congress will start doing something news worthy. I don’t expect a lot of breakthroughs given the Liberals’ strangle hold on the Senate and White House. The process of explaining how we can and should shrink government to fix our economic woes will take time and be fairly boring. Maybe we deserve a lull in dramatic news rush.

Go to YouCut site. The second sign that came out of the House is a new spending cut bill resulting from the votes at YouCut. This new spending cut bill is to defund the President’s Election funds.

This was one of the three offered by Eric this week. I voted on the second item, which is to defund the subsidies of the whaling studies. I thought this was more wasteful than the elimination of of the President’s election fund, which I thought it would be addressed in another week.

But I don’t care which because the goal is to eliminate or defund both.

Look how quiet the Senate Dems have been this week. Did they recognize that every argument that they come out with have been rebutted by the House Republicans? Or are they waiting for the House Republicans to make the first mistake? Are they working behind the scenes to regroup for a new attack?

And furthermore, are they NOT wanting the new House Bill, “Repeal of the JOB KILLING PPACA bill” to go on the floor for a vote?

What do you think is going on?

And I see that our politicians are working behind the scenes to find ways to handle state bankruptcies. This will favor the unions and hurt the taxpayers big time.

    What’s up with this issue?

We’re seeing positive reports on the economy; yet, there are many dangerous indicators that the dark days are ahead of us. Can you explain what’s going on here, too?

States are going to have to cut budgets. New rates are coming in. Our water bill went up 6%, because we were so good at conservation, the powers that be can’t pay their bills. Health insurance is up, electricity is up and of course gasoline is $3.05 this week.

I’m thinking people are going to want cuts big times as their bills go up.

this is not to make light of the work situation, and I do hope that it clears out and you can work through the problems soon. and of course I have no idea what you are working on, and shouldn’t.

but when you wrote: “I have landed on a project that is struggling on a massive scale.”

It suddenly struck me that you had just given a perfect descroption of NASA as a whole these days!

it seems that the only hope for the future of rocketry is either the Air Force (nice launch on the west coast, btw) or private. NASA is pretty much out of the picture for the forseeable future.

  5. lurker9876 says:

www, regarding NASA, I agree. It’s happening in JSC as well. Nasa’s future is very questionable.

Several problems with commercial space flight is that NASA is almost the only customer that could afford to pay them. I just don’t see any significant profitability among these commercial space flight while they are going to have to deal with liability issues.

So if the government wants to cut the NASA budget, there’s no way that the commercial space flight can survive without NASA.

I also heard rumors of cutting the NASA budget by half. I don’t see this in the DeMint/Jordan list but maybe in the Rand Paul proposal.

This may be exactly what Obama wants.

heh heh heh _olbermann is an ex-news host.

He’ll never have a regular hosting job again – no one will hire him. The reason he went down is that not even the lefties can stand to work with him! that must be a testament to what a fine person he is.

  7. lurker9876 says:

Olberman news is all over the place. And his contract cancellation is long past needed. What I don’t get is that the news are labeling him the top host of MSNBC with the highest number of viewers on MSNBC (but not the highest for all TV hosts).

The latest is that his contract was cancelled (fired) hours before the FCC approval of the merger.

And Comcast is more conservative than GE. So will Comcast eliminate more of the wacko TV hosts like Ed Schulz?

I never watched him but I read enough of his shenanigans and comments that I’m glad to see him go.

The rumor is that he will be back but not via TV. Something else…Internet vimeo or something?

“And Comcast is more conservative than GE.”

I’m not so sure about that, but it certainly is more conservative than Time-Warner (LOL)!

AJ – you need to write a post about WAPO reporter Dana Milbank’s inane Sarah Palin news boycott. This is hilarious because Sarah Palin is a news drug to them – they can’t help but write as much nasty stuff as they can get away with. Of course, I’ve already completed about 10 years of Dana Milbank-free news reading, so I suppose it cuts both ways.
