Anti War Liberals Take A Big Hit

Published by at 11:06 am under All General Discussions

The United States Supreme Court has just decided in a unanimous decision that colleges cannot restrict or bar military recruiters. This is an enormous blow to the anti-war folks who have tried to close their academic fantasy world off from the reality they exist in America – and are a small marginal voice in Americ to boot!

By a unanimous 8-0 vote, the Supreme Court has ruled that if colleges or universities take federal money they must allow the U.S. military to recruit on campus. Some law school professors had raised objections because of the Pentagon’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy on gays, which they view as discriminatory.Chief Justice John Roberts wrote the court’s opinion. “A military recruiter’s mere presence

on campus does not violate a law school’s right to associate, regardless of how repugnant the law school considers the recruiter’s message,” he wrote.

By federal law, colleges and universities forfeit any federal money if they do not give military recruiters access to their campuses.

So, let’s see how firmly these colleges believe in their principles. Are they willing to sacrifice money for principle? Don’t count on it. More on this news at Stop The ACLU and from Michelle Malkin.
