Dysmal Durbin Un-Repentant

Published by at 9:44 am under All General Discussions,GITMO-Durbin

We posted earlier on Dysmal Durbin’s outragous comparison of our military (and therefore us) to the most murderous despots of the last 100 years. Well it seems Sen Dysmal is not sorry at all for the comparison:

Sen. Dick Durbin refused to apologize Wednesday for comments he made on the Senate floor comparing the actions of American soldiers at Guantanamo Bay to Nazis, Soviet gulags and a ”mad regime” like Khmer Rouge leader Pol Pot’s in Cambodia.

”This administration should apologize to the American people for abandoning the Geneva Conventions and authorizing torture techniques that put our troops at risk and make Americans less secure,” Durbin said in a statement Wednesday evening.

OK Senator Dysmal – we want proof. If you are right, we want absolute proof (you know, the kind we would want for invading a country with WMDs and ties to terrorists who could kill thousands of our citizens). You don’t want to back down – prove your claims and promise to step down if you are wrong. We’ll see if you are one-tenth as brave and willing to sacrifice for your country as those on the ground in Iraq and Afghanistan.

UPDATE:

Thankfully this is getting the attention it deserves now. Capt Ed Morrissey chimes in. Right Wing Nut House has a more complete list of bloggers chiming in. And Buzz Blog distills it down to its essence: Durbin is an Idiot. Powerline calls Durbin Al Qaeda’s most popular Senator. Yeah, verily.

Looks like the blogosphere has awaken!

Ankle Biting Pundits jump in as well with links to moonbats supporting Durbin (which in turn helps the GOP cement the left’s anti-american, over the top image).
