What The …?

Published by at 12:11 pm under All General Discussions

You are unemployed and cannot make your payments on your house loan. So what does brain trust in DC come out with as a solution to your dilemma?

The administration will begin a Federal Housing Authority refinancing effort to help borrowers who are struggling to pay their mortgages, and will start an emergency homeowners’ loan program for unemployed borrowers so they can stay in their homes, Donovan said.

Who the heck would qualify for any size loan WITHOUT A JOB!? Not with my tax money they won’t.  If I wanted to throw my money down the tiolet I can do it myself.

Read this part of Ben Stein’s article: (h/t American Thinker’s http://www.americanthinker.com/2010/08/nobody_here_but_us_400000_chic.html – Nobody here but us 400,000 Chickens)

“We have to wake up,” he said. “Those people want to hurt us. Then they want to build a mosque. Why? To hurt us more? And how come Obama always takes the side of the people who hate us? Isn’t this his country, too? What’s wrong with him? Doesn’t he know he’s an American? Or what is he? This country has to wake up and get rid of Obama.”

    I nodded. “I agree,” I said.

The man shook his head. “This country has to wake up,” he said again. “We elected Obama. We made a big mistake. Now we have to fix it. Stop him, then get someone else in there. Someone who is an American. Someone who works for us, not our enemies.”

So, AJ, how do you feel about IMF loaning a massive loan to Greece using our own taxpayer’s money?

    The World of Obama:

If you have no money and no job, you can borrow as much as you want!!!

But if you’re a small business who wants to expand and hire people – No Money For YOU!!!! Vee mussst raise your taxes NOW!!!

whatever you financially reward, you will get more of. Whatever you punish, you will get less of. Pretty clear where we’re headed with this bunch.

Question is, is he still stuck there or did he make the bar recede like the oceans have?

What is appalling about this is that it drives someone who is unemployed and already in debt — deeper into debt!! I mean they aren’t just giving them the money, it IS a LOAN after all! I mean our government would just GIVE people money for nothing….right???

It’s even worse than that, Arch. Think about someone who’s deeply underwater on their home loan, sure that they’re going to have to default sooner or later. This offers them a huge lump sum payment and all they need to do to get it is to quit making mortgage payments and quit their job.

It’s not that hard to figure out – if you pay people to quit their jobs, quite a few of them will.

Another problem – if you give this loan as a lump sum, then it almost certainly will be used for other things and not for the home loan for which it was intended. But if you disburse it one monthly payment at a time, the bureacratic paperwork entailed is huge, plus you then aren’t really helping the homeowner as much as you are just sending money directly to the banks and claiming that the indebted homeowner is even more indebted.

Anyway you look at it, this is one of the most perversely insanse policies one could possibly come up with.

Good….the more Obama comes up with policies like these plus Sebelius’ comments about re-education of ObamaCare (btw, No, thank you, Kathy, we don’t need re-education), the more he loses.
