They Got Compooters In Loozy-anna? Whodathunkit?

Published by at 6:40 am under All General Discussions

The liberal media is watching their political dreams crash down around them. Their arrogant fantasies about how simple it all would be to create Nirvana here on Earth – singing “Kumbaya” every night in blessed socialist peace – is crashing against reality. Their simpleton policy plans are failing, and they can see that America is now realizing the left is completely incompetent. No one believes anymore that Obama and Pelosi are the grown up version of the tooth fairy. Obama is not capable of installing an ‘Easy Button” in every home and pay everyone’s mortgage? We are all going to have to fix this ourselves and it is best of the morons in DC were not involved.

It all looked so easy on the boob-tube as words (just words) were spouted from the telemprompter. When it came to turning words into results, it has been a disaster.

Some of the liberal myths busted by reality under Obama-Reid-Pelosi include:

  • The government can’t stimulate the economy by going into massive deficit spending – duh. The government is a leach off the general consumer-driven economy. It sucks revenues and incomes from the economy to do things (like national defense) which are not part of private enterprise. Money and innovation is the economy’s energy source. You cannot suck MORE energy out of the economy, waste it in bureaucratic delays and losses, and then send less energy back into economy and expect an increase in economic growth. It defies all logic (as most liberal policies do). When you suck energy and stifle innovation out of the economy life begins to really suck.
  • The government cannot reason with evil. You cannot say to murderous and suicidal madmen that if we don’t talk about you, you don’t have to kill us. Even that one doesn’t work on the boob-tube! There is a cancerous madness infecting Islam, not much different than the cancerous madness that has infected humanity many times before. It is not like Hitler’s racial hatred, it is a religion-based hate. But it exists and not talking about it doesn’t make it go away. Will the next phase of the liberal plan be holding our breathe?
  • Health care was not broken in this country, but it sure is now. No sane person would claim our nation could add 40 million people to insurance plans, remove all cost caps, support all pre-existing conditions and not raise the cost of insurance. Except of course our fantasy-driven community-organizer-in-chief. To him 2+2+2+2= -1. If there is to be no cost increase, then the only option is rationing and getting a hell of a lot less for the same amount of money. That is not what people wanted and it will be rejected en masse.
  • Mother nature is one tough bitch and not easily swayed by mere humans. I would have guessed if you believed human produced CO2 can control the global environment you should also see that this Gulf Oil spill required immediate emergency action, with all hands on deck. But the Obama non-response seems very at odds with ‘normal’ enviro-wacky group think. In this warped world we cannot burn the oil off, chemically disperse it, drop the Jones act to get help sucking it up nor build sand berms. These are environmentally dangerous acts or against bureaucratic due process. Therefore the oil must come ashore and destroy life on a massive scale. Is that making any sense to anyone not deluded with liberal-progressive brain washing?

Two stories today illustrate how many on the left are still walking around in their liberal daze – unwilling to come to grips with the real world results of their long desired fantasies. America is in a quiet, but red hot rage over all these faulty promises. But instead of admitting they screwed up, the left just keep fantasizing:

So it comes as no surprise that Democrats are girding for a tough November.

They should be. The economy is slowly recovering but remains on its sickbed, and most signs still point to a rough cycle for the party. Political analysts expect Republicans to make gains — possibly significant ones — in Congress in November, threatening to retake the House and maybe even the Senate.

But digging deeper, beyond the national numbers, reveals at least a few glimmers of hope for Democrats — still fairly distant and faint, but bright enough to get campaign strategists scanning the horizon and weighing the odds.

That is because different parts of the country are recovering at different rates — and, in a bit of electoral good luck for the Democrats, some of the areas that are beginning to edge upward more quickly, like parts of Ohio, Pennsylvania and New York, happen to be in important battlegrounds for the House and the Senate.

Oh Lord, the folks at the NY Times are drunk with desperation. Let’s assume jobs start to come back in the fall, is anyone going to cheer Congress and Obama for the turn around? Of course not. But the fact is there is nothing on the horizon that will show vast improvement in the job markets. And the oil disaster will still be with us, as will the rising costs of health insurance as Obamacare starts kicking in.

Some liberals have even gone so far as to rekindle the wars of personal destruction, as we find with the federal judge who stopped Team Obama from its dumbest move yet – a halt on 31% of our oil production:

In issuing his ruling, Feldman said that the moratorium was faulty because there was no “rational connection between the facts found and the choice made.” While there is often debate about the merits of judicial decisions, seldom does the criticism focus on the integrity of the judge. Right after he issued the ruling, Feldman came under attack as a tool of the oil industry. Media outlets reporters noted that the Judge held stock in oil and gas companies and implied that his decision was based on his own personal financial considerations. Such a personal attack is unfair and completely unwarranted, especially for Feldman, a distinguished judge known for his commitment to the law and a jurist who has earned the praise of people throughout the legal community.

Much of the sensational reporting on Feldman’s investments was based on outdated information. The Judge was blasted for owning stock in Transocean, Ltd and Halliburton, two of the major companies involved in the Deepwater Horizon disaster. Feldman owned those stocks in 2008; however, he sold those shares long before issuing his ruling this week. In fact, this updated information will be released in the next report on his stock holdings.

If Feldman held financial interests in any of companies involved in the lawsuit or the Deepwater Horizon rig, he would not have been allowed the take the case. The 5th District Court uses a sophisticated computer system to check whether judges have a conflict of interest in any legal proceeding. This system automatically determines whether a judge needs to be recused from a particular case. In this lawsuit, Feldman was allowed to take the case because he did not own any stock related to the parties involved.

I gather elitist enclaves in Chicago, New York, DC and LA must not have these new fangled compooter systems. Else, how could they get so much corruption in their local government systems?

Did any liberal news media outlet (oxymoron, I know) think before rushing to judgement? I mean, Team Obama admits they forged the consensus claim! The fact the judge noticed this and called the government’s ‘thinking’ into question should be no surprise. The man is getting death threats for heaven’s sake! All for thinking cogently.

Everyone is questioning our current government’s thinking. It is OK to have some quaint fantasies and enjoy the mythical worlds on the boob-tube on occasion. But to actually view all reality through the liberal fantasy lens, crammed with caricatures and biases, is not admirable nor right. It leads to over simplification of challenges, which leads to dangerous, faulty results.

Remember, the lack of response to the oil well explosion is wiping out life on an enormous scale never seen in modern times. This horrendous recession is wiping out the dreams of Americans on a scale not seen since the Great Depression, and the debt the liberals have amassed will be the largest ever recorded – a debt that will impact generations of Americans. Health care restrictions will withhold assistance, damaging and shortening the quality and duration of life for millions. And the terrorists keep coming to kill us, whether we talk about them or not.

These are not issues that can be dealt with using sound bites off a teleprompter. These are life and death issues across generations, and probably best kept out of the hands of mindless government bureaucrats.

    Awesome AJ!
But I’m sure the big Government Socialists and Marxists have the answer to all their problems!

Legalize the 30 million or so illegals from third world countries to carry the demand for more “Gov’t Goodies”.

They need more voters who will demand more govt and I’m sure Pinnochio is up to the task of creating some “crisis” to get just barely enough fools to go along with him in the ultimate destruction of our formerly great country!
Sorry to be so pessimistic, but I have not seen the spine reguired by Dem or Repub or the willingness by either to honor their oaths of office and stop this DOMESTIC TERRORIST.

ANYONE with over two terms in DC should be gone! WE NEED NEW UNCORRUPTED BLOOD TO NOURISH THE TREE OF LIBERTY!

    Got you covered dhunter

I wouldn’t go quite that far, dhunter. It does take some time for a newly elected Congressman to figure out how to do things.

But I am an advocate for term limits…12 years in the House OR 12 years in the Senate, but no more than 16-18 years in Washington.

And you have to sleep in the district you purport to represent 183 nights per year. THAT will cure things. Most of these twits get elected, move to Washington, and are corroded by the rabidly liberal miasma inside the Beltway.

Not to mention that if I had my way, your retirement pay is contingent on your living either in the state you represented, or 250 miles from the Capitol.

  4. WWS says:

I like the way Texas does it – the Lege is only in session every OTHER year (and only for about half of that one) and they don’t get paid much more than minimum wage when they’re there. Guarantees a legislator has gotta be successful somewhere else than government, otherwise he only gets paid every other year.

And retirement is easy – just fix it so that retirement pay is capped at $2k per month plus SS benefits. If they need more than that to live, let them go out and find a real job somewhere.

Oh, and anyone caught taking bribes, payoffs, or other types of schemes should be publicly executed as 2 days after conviction with no appeal. This is one area where I gotta say that the Chinese have got it right. I think that multiple machine guns would make the best video, although I cannot deny the attraction of throwing them into a pit with a pack of rabid wolves. (Although Nancy Pelosi might just win that fight)

  5. Mike M. says:

WWS, have you no shame? What did those wolves do so evil to warrant feeding them Nancy Pelosi?

  6. WWS:

Being a rabid Texan, I also like the way we do it.

It would seem the founding fathers of my state figured that the less time these parasites could spend in telling the rest of us what to do, the better.

I often wish that they had followed that train of thought to its’ logical conclusion, but I reckon they considered them a necessary evil that could not be completely dispensed with.

I still think that is open to dispute. 🙂

Ain’t it interesting that a judge who rules contrary to the way the left and the media (Y, same thing) wants is villified and threatened for a conflict of interest that no longer exists, but that Congress clowns like Chris “Sweetheart of Countrywide” Dodd and Barney “Give me more power” Frank can vote on bills with one hand while taking all sorts of goodies from the “special interests” they are supposed to be regulating with the other…. and nobody notices?

Earlier this week Rassmussen published a poll that put Hillary and Obama at the top the list of those best qualified to run the country. Obama is still very popular.

We live in a very different country than just 10 years ago. We have reached and surpassed “critical mass” as far a ignorance and inattention of the general population. Us old timers judge our politicians very differently than the new crowd. As long he delivers “other peoples” money to their doorstep they will overlook his blunders. He is full of “good intentions” and that’s all that matters to the new majority.

I mentioned several months ago, here on this blog, Louisiana has already been through this political ordeal before. In the 1930’s Louisiana had a Governor turned U.S. Senator who was a dictator. Huey P. Long ran Louisiana like a little kingdom. His nickname was “The Kingfish” He used identical methods to gain power. Powerful speeches were he promised to deliver the wealth of the rich to the poor. His favorite whipping post, guess who? Standard Oil (EXXON of today) He ran every detail of state business and politics. Dare not get in his way! It did not end well.

If you are interested, and you should be, read:

“Louisiana Hayride,” the American Rehearsal for Dictatorship 1928-1940″ by Harnett T. Kane

    or

“Huey Long, a biography” by T. Harry Williams.

Huey Long’s legacy still effects our state, and to compound the insult, there is a statue of the rascal over his grave on the State Capitol lawn.

Elimination of Congressional pensions would probably take care of that by itself … and save us a lot of money.
