America Rejects Mad Madam Pelosi’s
Wow. CNN has released a stunner poll. Only 25% want the bill passed, while 60% say they want Congress to go back and get it right.
Fifty-nine percent of people questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey say lawmakers should continue working on the legislation, a rise of 6 points since August. But only a quarter say those bills should be passed pretty much as is, with a third suggesting that Congress should make major changes.
I am serious here, any democrat who votes for this and who doesn’t live in a bullet proof liberal district is going to be out of a job in one year.

MoveOn Threatens to Push Primary Opponents to Dems Voting Against Health Plan

A civil war is threatening to erupt within the Democratic Party as liberal advocacy group MoveOn.org looks to punish moderate Democrats opposed to the sweeping health care overhaul proposed by party leaders. MoveOn has reportedly raised more than $3.5 million in contributions to fund primary challenges against “any Democratic senator who blocks an up-or-down vote on health care reform with a public option,” according to an e-mail sent to group members on Thursday. The e-mail warned that any Democratic House member who joins Republicans to filibuster the health care reform measure will “face an enormous backlash from the grassroots.”

They passed the bill. One Republican voted for it but I can’t really blame him in this case. He is in a Democrat district and only got the seat on a fluke because Dollar Bill Jefferson was convicted on corruption charges.
His constituents probably were in favor of the bill so he is one of the few members of Congress today that voted their district’s desire and not their party’s desire. I have some respect for that.
A member of Congress is there to represent their district, not their party.
