When God Talks To Pols

Published by at 8:54 am under All General Discussions

I just cannot fathom Lindsey Graham. Who else would claim God’s messenger told him to vote for a pro-choice liberal supreme court justice?

“It is called the Golden Rule,” said Graham. “‘Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.’ That is probably one of the most powerful statements ever made. It is divine in its orientation, and it is probably something that would serve us all well if we thought about it at moments such as this. “

This translates into government funded abortion? More likely this is a clear sign someone has been inflating their ego for way too long in DC and needs to step aside and let a fresh face take over.

Depends on what you choose as your God doesn’t it.

We need to apply an enema to Congress, all of it needs flushing.

Lindsey Graham is a complete fool. He has not been right since his unsuccessful prosecution of Bill Clinton’s impeachment.

  5. Rick C says:

The contradiction is staggering. Lindsey Graham must have come to the conclusion that his concept of God smiles on abortion.

I understand we must all compromise, to even stay in that horrible game being played out in DC. But this week was an all time low for the good of the nation. When it’s worse than Obama, it’s bad. I would like to send those 5 Pugs to XXXX.

He takes the worst stereotype out there of Republicans – that somehow they base their ideas on a perverse mixture of religion and politics – and then he not only reinforces it, he makes it serve the cause of left wing extremism! The GOP’s worst enemies couldn’t have designed a more damaging display than this!

And for it to come from one of the supposedly senior Republican Senators – disgusting. I know he’s in til 2012, but he should start talking to Sen. Bennet about how it feels to get the boot in your own party’s primary, cause that’s what he might be looking at in a couple of years.

    Term limits.

And Real Residency. Require members of Congress to sleep in their districts/states 183 nights every year and a lot of this will evaporate.

  10. Paul from Boston says:

Mike M., I’m with you on that one. Congress shouldn’t be in session more than six months of the year with at least six months between sessions. Right now they live in isolation subject to a Church of Scientology like indoctrination. I’d also like to see it required that bills reported out of committee in one session cannot be voted into law until it’s been available to the public for six months, minimum.

While we’re at it, end withholding on all taxes, even Soc. Sec, and Medicare. Let everyone see exactly how much is going out the door. That would change the public mind real quickly about the value of government.

Lindsay if I did unto you what you do unto the Republican party I’d be called gay and I’m not. Not that there’s anything wrong with bein gay, just sayin!

The left has something on him. And what is it about South Carolina that they act so religious all the sudden. Remember those idiots saying it was there sacred something or other that they lie about Nikki Haley?

Republicans have no guts. Republican senators let the dims’ choices for SC sail through with no problems while the dims fight ours tooth and nail and succeed in blocking many of them. It is really a slap in the face that they blocked Bork, who was if anything over qualified to be a justice if that’s possible, and pass the last two grossly underquallifed rubber stamps. Also, the dims tried their best to block Roberts and Alito who are way more qualified than those two NOW and Planned Parenthood representatives. Republicans said when Ginsburg was nominated that the president’s choice should be passed since elections have consequences. They are not there to make such a judgement. They are there to pay attention to the will of their constitutients and nothing else. The high road can get pretty lonely when you rob yourself of any power or will. Well, as they say, “no good deed goes unpunished” and “the road to hell is paved with good intentions”. I fear we will reap the consequences of both of these sayings.
