Clumsy Clinton Continues On

Published by at 10:04 am under 2008 Elections,All General Discussions

Boy, what part of “the Clintons would do anything to win” do people not understand?  Clinton must have been really tired and worn out to let slip one of the worst political gaffes in history – saying one reason to stay in would be just in case some nut assassinates Obama:

SICK. Disgusting. And yet revealing.Hillary Clinton is staying in the race in the event some nut kills Barack Obama.

It could happen, but what definitely has happened is that Clinton has killed her own chances of being vice president. She doesn’t deserve to be elected dog catcher anywhere now.

Her shocking comment to a South Dakota newspaper might qualify as the dumbest thing ever said in American politics.

Her lame explanation that she brought up the 1968 assassination of Robert Kennedy because his brother Ted’s illness was on her mind doesn’t cut it. Not even close.

We have seen an X-ray of a very dark soul. One consumed by raw ambition to where the possible assassination of an opponent is something to ponder in a strategic way. Otherwise, why is murder on her mind?

Yeah, well we also have a designated chain of command in government just in case the President is assassinated.  The planning for catastrophe is not evil or ugly.  And only the most fanatical would claim Clinton wants this to happen.   Brings back echos of the far right and their lame hit-squad claims from the Clinton years in the White House.

But all kidding aside, this could be make some nut case think assassination is preferable, and one way to get Clinton in office.  She should be chastised to some degree for the mistake, but most of what I am seeing is way over the top.  The ever-righteous glass houses are out in mass throwing their superior morality stones (how many ridiculous and controversial claims have emanated from the loons at MSNBC?).   But don’t think this will stop Clinton – it won’t.  She has nothing more to lose to stay in, and possibly the Presidency to win.

The fact is the liberal nuts on the left who are overreacting to this gaffe are the ones doing the damage.  Most Americans know about slips and mistakes.  Most have uttered something that sounded horrible, and did not represent their heart and soul.  And most women will give Hillary the benefit of the doubt considering the pressure she is under.  The Democrat base will shatter and lose one of its primary elements, either women or African Americans.  And if the screw up really well, they could lose both.

This left wing  hand wringing and emoting reminds me of drama-queens from high school – where every little event is a disaster of major proportions.  One thing the left is NOT demonstrating right now is a lot of maturity.

Yea, the self-righteousness of the left is interesting. You’d think she really goofed, as in saying there are 57 states, plus one more or something really insensitive such as that. From all the news stories, apparently she has said the same thing previously and it wasn’t a big deal then, but now that they all want her to quit they are breathing fire. At least the libs are giving us something to laugh at.

I think it was a stupid thing to say and I am not defending Hillary, but I am not sure she was trying to get the man killed or anything. It was just a dumb thing to say.

Sure they are.. ..about as mature as the h2s from an over late egg.

This is one I am going to cut her a break on, just like I did with the Obama gaffe of being in 57 states. I am quite certain that Clinton was only pointing out that previous primary campaigns were still hot and heavy in June.

There are 57 States in the Organization of the Islamic Conference.

Basic tenant of communism”The ends justify the means”!

A disciple of Saul Alinsky would have learned this basic tenant of the movement and she’s certainly expoused some pretty “mean” means here.

She may not have meant to utter it, but she’s certainly thinking it, there’s no denying that.

I would be highly offended where I Obama just in case some dirtbag tried to fulfill her wish.

What would you expect from Clinton scum after all she didn’t THINK he was a Muslim, or drug dealer. B.S. she either thought it or wanted others to.

I don’t think she’s very high on Obama’s VP list anymore.

It is too funny to watch the media go after one of their pet democrats. Too bad for her that she is not the candidate de jour. Usually we watch while the media destroys a republican for some icky statement or other gaffe but here they are, no holds barred, out to destroy one of the royal Clintons. Whatever happened? Is this sort of like Camelot breaking apart?

  10. dhunter says:

No, No, and No, Camelot is NOT breaking apart the mainstream media just has a brand new Clean, Articulate Prince to escort to the ball.

The Clinton water was getting way too heavy for them to carry, way to many skeletons in that closet and assorted graveyards.

So here is what I think Hillary was saying:
I do not want to be Obama’s Vice-Presidential candidate.
    Her calculus:
I probably will not get the 2008 nomination. Obama will but he
will lose to John McCain, failing to take all those big states that
i rather nicely won. I can try again in 2012, on the I Told You So
platform, but I can only do that if I stay off the 2008 ticket. Once you
lose a general election, you become like Kerry-Edwards – losers.
So I need to stay off the 2008 ticket but I can’t say that out loud because
that would shatter the hopes of all the dream-ticket believers. I can’t
actually say I think Obama will lose. I need to find a way to so annoy
Obama that I am safe from being choosable. I just did it.
