Repulsive Display By Surrendercrats In Congress

Published by at 1:47 pm under All General Discussions,Iraq,Sadr/Mahdi Army

Well, it looks like the Surrendercrats in Congress have decided to be manipulated by the agents of evil in the Middle East again. It really is a repulsive spectacle to see our leaders carrying the water for fanatic Islamist extremists. They are simply puppets be choreographed by with the help of the SurrenderMedia. Here is something [note: the link is down, probably due to traffic] our leaders should have noticed on the run up to the hearings this week on Iraq and the testimony of General Petraeus and Ambassador Crocker:

At least 52 rockets or mortar bombs hit the heavily fortified Green Zone in Baghdad in the past week, Brigadier General Qassim Atta, spokesman for the Iraqi army in the capital, said on Tuesday.

Atta said another 90 mortar bombs or rockets struck various other places in Baghdad over the same period.

What does this tell us? It tells us the terrorists were executing a media event to influence the Congressional hearings. And being the dutiful dupes they are, the SurrenderMedia and Surrendercrats played their roles in this media campaign to the hilt this week. Sadr and his Iranian backers used a barrage of death and destruction to hand talking points to what can only be called their allies in the US Congress. It is a sick cycle that has been repeated every time Congress holds hearings on Iraq with pledges to surrender Iraq to the extremists at the first opportunity.

The facts on the ground paint a grisly and very different picture than the talking points meant to influence our ‘leaders’:

“We’re scared,” admitted Abu Muamel as the sudden blast of a mortar round fightened the baby in his arms to tears and set US and Iraqi armoured vehicles racing through Sadr City’s smoke-choked streets.

“It’s too dangerous to stay here,” Abu Muamel added as he and his family of eight on Tuesday fled the sprawling district in eastern Baghdad that is the theatre of raging battles between Mahdi Army militiamen and security forces.

“A mortar landed in our street, killing a boy. I’m taking my family out of here. We’re going to stay with relatives in Mansur,” the 42-year-old artisan said, referring to a relatively safe part of western Baghdad.

As he spoke another two mortar rounds slammed into a nearby neighbourhood. The explosions drowned out the whine of US Stryker armoured troop carriers and the relentless clatter of Apache helicopters, which have been blasting away at mortar and rocket teams with Hellfire missiles for the past three days.

Jihad really loses its romantic appeal when seen close up and personal. What I have been reading from Sadr City is the Shiites are not rallying but running. And they are running from the launchers sprinkled through out their homes by the radical Islamists. This cycle of bloodshed for headlines needs to be ended. But it will only end when Surrendercrats stop being useful idiots and playing their role in the propaganda campaign. It will only end when the media reports on why the bloodshed has happened – because fanatics are killing US and Iraqi people in order to break our resolve. That IS their intention, there is no reason not to report it and defuse it as a propaganda weapon.

As I said, this sick dance of death between the terrorists and their enablers here in the West is disgusting – and it is not lost on America how this dynamic works and how it can be stopped. If need be we just need to marginalize those ghouls who use death and mutilation for their own political purposes. Political power should not be won upon the corpses of the innocent.

Addendum: More here on the attacks from Sadr City that had to be dealt with because of the casualties they were inflicting for news headlines and liberal blogger fodder:

Coalition forces are increasingly focused on destroying enemy rocket and mortar teams following attacks on two Baghdad sites yesterday that killed three U.S. servicemembers and wounded 26 others.
Rockets rained on Baghdad’s heavily fortified International Zone around 3:30 p.m. yesterday, killing two and wounding 17, military officials said. Several hours later, mortars struck a forward operating base in the eastern section of the Iraqi capital, killing one and injuring nine.

“We’re definitely going after the mortar and rocket teams. They don’t just hit us, they kill innocent civilians and governmental employees, and it’s basically one of our focus areas right now,” Army Lt. Col. Steve Stover, a Multinational Division Baghdad spokesman, said today. “Over the next several days, as long as they keep trying to do this, we’re going to keep going after them.”

Military officials said those perpetrating the attacks are criminals formerly aligned with Shiite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr. They are in violation of a pledge by Sadr renewed last week to cease violence against coalition and Iraqi forces, officials said.

And Maliki is not backing down, and nor should he. Unlike the Surrendercrats he showing resolve in the face of horrible human atrocities:

Iraq’s security forces were ordered Tuesday to collect arms from ordinary people and political parties in Baghdad, while Shia cleric Moqtada al-Sadr postponed a planned protest against US presence in Iraq. Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki ordered security forces to enforce the ban on gun ownership in the next days, General Qasim Atta, the spokesman for the Baghdad operations, told reporters.

Medium and heavy guns, explosives and all kinds of rockets will be collected to remove all military appearances in the capital, Atta said.

Baghdad’s Shia-dominated Kazimiyah district was declared a weapons-free area in accordance with a government order to demilitarise Iraq’s holy cities, according to Atta.

Kazimiyah, which houses a shrine of Shia Imam Mussa al-Kazim, is one of the strongholds of the Mahdi Army militia loyal to cleric Moqtada al-Sadr.

To ensure further bloodshed only takes whimping out and allowing the bloodshed to dictate our positions. It is a simple equation. If it works to the terrorists benefit they will keep doing it. And all those who make it work to their benefit are responsible, in a major way, for the continued use of dead bodies as political points.

Update: More here on the carnage Sadr’s thugs were inflicting in order to manipulate the Surrendercrats to push for our surrender in Iraq. So much bloodshed on the behalf of myopic liberals in America – just sickening.

As usual Strata fails Logic 101. Advanced masters of (in this case , failing)imperialism usually do, that is when they are not prevaricating.

    Quick correction:

52 blasts hit Baghdad Green Zone last week: Iraqi army

    What does this tell us?

It tells us that after five years, America has failed to sqaush insurgency of both Shia and Sunni in Iraq. The fact that
after five years insurgents could do what they they did and not when they did what they will do until America leaves and after, is the point.

    hard2take,

No, what it shows it liberals obey their terrorist masters when faced with dead innocents. Nice puppet that you are you did your part for the propaganda effort. Did America force the terrorists to shoot rockets? Of course not – they do that because they like to see you dance for them. Nice puppet that you are!

  3. Hey AJ: I have a Brilliant idea, I know how to make all the problems in Iraq and the Middle East go away, OVERNIGHT!

    Ready……?

    LET’S SURRENDER!

Yeah, that’s it…..that will cure everything, instantaneously!

Hurry up, all together now, LET’S SURRENDER!

  4. norm says:

aj…sadr is not a terrorist as you state in the post, and if you were honest you would say so. if you have to make misrepresentations to support your argument then how valid is the argument? sadr is involved in a struggle for power in his own country. maliki started this latest uprising in a bid for that same power. you are all for the united states military policing this ongoing civil war…extremists like you enjoy nation building. in the meantime iran is supporting both sides and at this point is the winner…hands down. and it’s not because of surrendercrats or puppets or any other of the cute words you use when you can’t come up with an answer. it’s because this occupation has been a blunder from the beginning. my guess is that you know that…but you have to much invested to admit it.

  5. truthhard2take says:

I believe that you should develop a conspiracy theory that Bush
and the occupiers are purposely aiding and abetting the “terrorists” such has been their abject failure to squash ” a few dead-enders.”

  6. truthhard2take says:

Maliki stymies al Sadr rally by force and Strata accuses al Sadr of lacking followers to attend it. Typical.

  7. 75 says:

So suddenly, Maliki is capable of “stymie” by force”? Those Iraqi forces sure got up to speed, quickly, huh?

  8. truthhard2take says:

Iran is the only force which can stymie or advance either party.

  9. 75 says:

Oh, I apologize…how silly of me…I interpreted your comment “Maliki stymies al Sadr rally by force” to mean Maliki stymies al Sadr rally by force. How silly of me not “assume” you meant Iran.

Must be nap time over there on the left.

Now that Blackwater’s Iraq contract has been renewed, I wonder when Strata will call for its disbanding in Iraq, seeing as how it is a private militia with far less approval ranking from the Iraqi population at large than the Mahdi Army?

Al Sadr’s speech today was patriotic, unifying, and doubtless increased his appeal to many Iraqis.
