Obama Throws Wright Under The Bus – Caught In Another Lie

Published by at 8:35 am under 2008 Elections,All General Discussions

Obama must realize the hits he is taking for his relationship with an anti-American, anti-white ‘pastor’ are crippling his support, because today Obama’s BS-Express went into high gear:

In appearance taped for airing this morning on “The View,” Senator Obama makes news by saying he might have left Chicago’s Trinity United Church of Christ if the Rev. Jeremiah Wright had not retired.

In a clip posted by ABC, Obama says: ‘Had the reverend not retired, and had he not acknowledged that what he had said had deeply offended people and were inappropriate and mischaracterized what I believe is the greatness of this country — for all its flaws — then I wouldn’t have felt comfortable staying there at the church.”

This is doubly bad for Sen Obama because it creates more questions and doubts. If Wright was that bad, why not denounce him now and get it over with? And if it was that bad, why wait 20 years to deal with it? And if it was that bad, what about the new pastor who is not that much better? And all this comment does is keep the story alive longer – smooth move there.

Fact is Obama just crumpled because he lost what little spine he has. And it will not be enough to move his skeptics, but it will be considered a ‘judas moment’ to the black community. Just more evidence Obama is not ready for the pressures of the White House.

Update: Reader Neo points us to this enlightening bit of news about the Obama-Wright saga from Christopher Hitchens:

It’s been more than a month since I began warning Sen. Barack Obama that he would become answerable for his revolting choice of a family priest. But never mind that; the astonishing thing is that it’s at least 11 months since he himself has known precisely the same thing. “If Barack gets past the primary,” said the Rev. Jeremiah Wright to the New York Times in April of last year, “he might have to publicly distance himself from me. I said it to Barack personally, and he said yeah, that might have to happen.” Pause just for a moment, if only to admire the sheer calculating self-confidence of this. Sen. Obama has long known perfectly well, in other words, that he’d one day have to put some daylight between himself and a bigmouth Farrakhan fan. But he felt he needed his South Side Chicago “base” in the meantime. So he coldly decided to double-cross that bridge when he came to it. And now we are all supposed to marvel at the silky success of the maneuver.

Well, that clearly indicates Obama has been caught in a red-faced lie to the American people. No one wants or will vote for a president who lies with ease to America. The thing about George Bush which has been so refreshing is he says what he means and means what he says – and then does what he says. It irritates the hell out of people, but to America it is one of his best qualities. We know what we are getting and where we are going. Liars are much less predictable. So, what else has Obama lied about? That is the question which will dog him for the rest of the campaign. I doubt the Clinton machine will miss any opportunities to emphasize his struggles with be honest and forthright with the country. Not that she doesn’t also have a problem with telling the truth!

I must have missed Wright’s apology, did anyone else hear of it? All I heard was he was cancelling speaking engagements because of , according to Wright, threats.

You are right AJ, questions remain. How could someone belong to a church for 20 years and not know what was being preached, did Obama never read Wright’s anti-Israeli comments in church bulletins or the remarks about the “garlic-nosed Italians?” What a guy, but, all is well, Wright stepped down so Obama can remain in the church. Now, what are the excuses for the new guy?

  2. VinceP1974 says:

I wonder how Obama missed the HAMAS charter in his church bulliten.

Don’t miss this selection via Christopher Hitchens‘ piece ..

Perhaps Obama didn’t hear those contraversal statements, but he certainly knew of them. What’s better is that we get to see how a “might” from a year ago slowly became he “would” a year later. That’s real decisiveness, a true mark of a leader.

    By the way,
have I reminded you lately that Obama really IS a Muslim,
the rev Wright thing is a smokescreen.

    Read this:

    http://web.israelinsider.com/Articles/Politics/12745.htm

    So what do we know?

    He isn’t “Black”
    He isn’t Christian
    He hates this country,

sounds like the Left’s dream candidate

Has anyone thought of asking him if he enjoys the occasional
    glass of Third World Chardonnay?

  5. dave m says:

Yeah, I guess some lefty is going to ask me
why can’t a Muslim be a President of the USA?

    Here’s the answer:

He can’t. Period. Not in this century. Maybe someday they’ll
reform their religion. Until that day, not a chance.

    Several remarks:

“And it will not be enough to move his skeptics, but it will be considered a ‘judas moment’ to the black community”

I believe Strata has just typecast the broad black community as
    racial nationalists.

“Not that she (Hillary) doesn’t also have a problem with telling the truth!

So does McCain, eg. bragging on two different occasions about the safety of Baghdad when he was highly guarded. And accusing Iran of helping Al Qaeda in Iraq, which even Lieberman worried was too transparent and quickly “corrected” him.

Missy appears to regard Israel as sacrosanct and Vince might not recognize Hamas’ designation as terrorist is America (and Israel) specific. Russia, China and most of Europe do not label it such and even American puppet Sarkozy has suggested dialogue with it.

  7. VinceP1974 says:

Iran is helping Al Qaeda. It defies reality to say that it does not.

And I don’t care what Russia, China and most of all the EU think about HAMAS.

HAMAS is an enemy of the United States , read thier charter dumb ass.

  8. Whippet1 says:

    Truth,

It sure is a good thing for the Democrat party to have brainwashed people like you to lead around…All the while preaching “Do as I say” and the liberals follow along. When the “not as I do” part exposes itself (which it always does) it just makes you all look like suckers.

It failed. I’m leaning to Nader.

  10. truthhard2take says:

I see nothing in Hamas doctrine that defines America as an enemy, except that it has supported, militarily, financially and politically, Israel’s oppression of Palestinians. Since I consider American imperial intervention in the Middle East on the side of anyone, something neither ethical nor in America’s interest, this doesn’t bother me in the least, but it might bother elements of the Military Industrial complex, the Zionist Lobby and oil-i-garchies.

  11. VinceP1974 says:

You reveal your ignorance once again. I didn’t say their “doctrine” (thought thier doctrine is against us too), I said their charter.

    You know nothing.

  12. KauaiBoy says:

This train wreck is getting better by the day. On one hand, we can look with some hope at half the democrat party finally telling the Clinton’s to get lost but then only having an inexperienced, American Idol wannabe for an alternative. Obama is bringing the America haters out into the open where they can be counted, identified and then ignored once more.

How can McCain not win? Unless the OJ jury actually shows up on election day.

  13. Terrye says:

    Truth:

If you think Hamas is not a self proclaimed enemy of the United States then you need to pay more attention. They not only hate the US, they are damn proud of it. If they do not deny it, why should you?

And I think it is rather arrogant of you to speak for the entire black community. In fact I am sure many of them are ashamed of him.

  14. ivehadit says:

    Great posts here..especially Vince!

Evil never comes dressed in a red satin suit with a long tail and a pitch fork. No, evil comes dressed in a gray suit with a Harvard degree and a slick tongue that lulls the public into believing the” just slightly shaded” truth..like “I would have left if the pastor hadn’t resigned.” Or Hamas really isn’t a terrorists organizaton…

    Riiiiight.

Such intellectual dishonesty…and a shameless attempt (once again) to get us to doubt our reality. AIN’T GONNA HAPPEN, LIBS. NOT EVER.

  15. ivehadit says:

And Barack Hussein Obama, YOU ARE NO MICHAEL STEELE.

  16. VinceP1974 says:

B Hussien Winfrey is your typical trojan horse demagogic Leftist… like a Castro except this one with Muslim-affinity.

  17. Whippet1 says:

Obama appears to have a history of dishonesty and the typical leftist political games. Funny how the New York Times and the rest of the MSM doesn’t report what’s been available to them for years…

  18. truthhard2take says:

    http://www.mideastweb.org/hamas.htm

again, there is nothing in the Hamas Charter which identifies America as an enemy apart from its support for Israel.

and it was Strata who “spoke for” the black community, not me.

  19. VinceP1974 says:

    You are so ignorant.

Try reading Article 22.. The United States is the current “office holder” of the system they cite as the force behind Israel.

If Israel is the epitome of all that is wrong in the world.. then the force that is behind Israel is even more evil.

You Leftists are so braindead that you’re incapable of thought and analysis. Unless someone spoonfeeds you your talking points you have no ability to dicern what the Islamists are actually saying.

    Parts of 22:

“For a long time, the enemies have been planning, skillfully and with precision, for the achievement of what they have attained .. With their money they formed secret societies, such as Freemasons, Rotary Clubs, the Lions and others in different parts of the world for the purpose of sabotaging societies and achieving Zionist interests”

How of many of you knew that Rotary Clubs and Lions Clubs are in the HAMAS charter, specifically mentioned as being the agents of Satan?

  20. truthhard2take says:

You proived my point. Nothing in the Hamas Charter can be interpreted as anti-American except insofar as it supports Israel.
Were we to cut off aid to Israel and force a vacation of the West Bank and Samaria, the olive branches would come out.
