Obama Pulls An al-Gore
Yes, that is a deliberate typo on “al-Gore”. Combining the propaganda BS of a Baghdad Bob (which the SurrenderMedia just couldn’t stop believing or reporting) with the ability to exaggerate and self-fantasize, Barrack Obama has pulled one of the dumbest al-Gore stunts I have ever seen (H/T Lori Byrd)
I wasn’t going to post anything on it, until I heard the comments about the “surge.” Charles Gibson told the candidates that there is real evidence that the surge in Iraq is working. (Yep, you read that right. I wrote Charles Gibson. Of ABC News. It shocked me, too.) They showed a short piece about some of the improved security in Baghdad and the dramatic drop in U.S. casualties. He asked the candidates if they were wrong to oppose the surge. Predictably they all said the surge is a failure because there has not been political progress made. Obama said that much of the progress that has been made was due to agreements made between the tribes in the Anbar Province and that those were made (not because of the surge, but) because those in Iraq saw the Democrats win back the Congress in 2006 and decided they would be pulling the troops out so they had to step up.
If Obama did say something that stupid he just breathed new life into Hillary’s campaign. The Anbar awakening began well before the November elections and well before the Dems admitted publicly their view of change in Iraq was to go all out for American defeat. But regardless of all that, the Surge and the Awakening (where Iraqi Sunnis decided to fight al Qaeda) required each other to succeed. The fact is, without US military protection the Awakening would have died out (as it had before).
Obama’s ‘logic’ is really stupid. The Iraqis would never have risked the lives of the families and tribes if they thought the US was going to bolt and run. It seems Obama is trying to be just like al-Gore when he tried to claim credit for the internet. Dems claiming credit for victory in Iraq is so laughable it calls into question whether the man is sane.
The Dems caused the Awakening! What a crock. Does Obama have any other tall tails he wants to share with America?
We had a debate double header gathering in my home theater last night and for the Dem debate I had buckets of nerf balls for people to throw at the plasma if they needed to.
I had one guy who when Obama uncorked that one was ready to go out to his car for either a paint ball gun or a 45, not sure which.
We convince him that was outside the ROE for the debates. He took it VERY personal as he had done two tours in Anbar as a Marine on the ground and always talks about all the work they did long before the awakening to bring the tribal sheiks around to our point of view.
Yeah AQ blowing up everyone in sight and killing families and such was not a factor, they just wanted to join the Dem bandwagon.
Had to be the most totally clueless statement of both debates…but I have to admit I still gave Paul and E for Effort.
David Warren said it well in his most recent column, regarding Obama and Huckabee: “Both persist in making childish and ignorant statements on foreign policy; neither has shown an inclination to rise from the condition of being a pathetic, inexperienced novice. Richardson was the most honest on foreign policy. He said what the Dems all think but none have said. He said there is no way that we can stay in Iraq with the amount of money it costs and have national health care, college education for all, I can’t remember the other give-me’s. The Dem’s care little for the consequences of leaving Iraq or the war on terror as we are fighting now. They don’t mind dropping a few bombs from on high, but spend the money to fight using the military, too expensive. Clinton reduced our military because he never wanted to fight a battle again. Look at Europe. The Dems like that model. It is all about money.
The change they are talking about is, where is the tax payers money’s going to go. Keep it at home, make the middle class so dependent on the government that they can’t live without the Dems.
There are alot of people who love that model and will take many deaths even on American soil to get some of that money. And then complain about what did the President know and when did he know it.
How is America going to show we are open for business? Put ourselves in the same pathetic national security position as Old Europe. Then we will both know we can’t do anything about Islamic Jihad. They will love us because we will both be crippled in the same way.
The candidates say they will bring this country together. Bull! Bush tried over and over again. There are those who are willing to make sacrafices for the long view and those who want everything now because it fills good and the long be damned. I think that Bush has done a pretty good job of satisfying both points of view. He has fought the good fight and because he lowered taxes he has keep unemployment low and money circulation. Is it perfect for everyone, no but it could have been a hell of a lot worse. Any democrat who thinks that all they have to do is tax those who earn over $200,000 more, bring the troops home and all will be just like the 90’s is in for a rude awaking. Everything is different, pretending that George Bush is the only difference is a very big lie. The dems are trying to convince the public that our only problem is Bush. Oil prices and radical Islam are not going to go away.
May have been that Obama said something this stupid…however…Hillary saved him from loosing points to her by promising that the very FIRST thing she would do would be to issue executive order for a withdrawal from Iraq to start within 60days.
It’s like watching them shoot each other in the foot.
PS: The democrats are at war with America and Americans. No all of the….just “you”. That’s what they want to change. And that’s the only enemy in the world….”you”. They don’t want to change, nor confront, terroism, nor Russia helping to build an arm Iran, nor China and it’s pollution and contributions to soaring energy prices. To them, that’s just the ‘politics of fear” to even discuss it. No..the real enemy is “you”. And people like you…and your children.
Their view of terroism is that “we” are the terroist. If we just withdraw overseas and leave “those” people alone …they won’t be mad at us or have reason to harm us. It makes me sick. A dog eats a baby..and all they can talk about is…how nice the dog was, and the baby must have done something to the dog to set it off.
Obama speaks softly on this…but his message is exaclty the same. They all agree…that we must change. By that, they mean..people like them..are seeing change to isolate themselves from you…and that “you” must change, that “we” must change….(no mention of others in the world changing), republicans must be limited in power and scope as they currently are getting nothing done on these issues (forgetting that THEY have controlled congress since 2006). Bah.

Nope, it does not matter what he says but the Voice that he uses. The only thing that might wake up some of his crowd would be if we get hit again. God forbid. It’s as though Obama’s crowd has returned to their pre-9/11 world.
So how is this possible? MSM. They have decided we are no longer at war. After all these years of front page, they have established into the public’s brain that Iraq was George W Bush’s mistake and we have lost the war. You will never see 365 front pages (think Abu Ghraib) that it ain’t so. So Obama marches on. Terrorism? No longer exists in their world. It is not just in the Dem’s world but also what I have watched with the Pugs. After all, if they had their way they would bring all the troops home and patrol that southern border.
Did your friend really do that? So glad to know that most of the military are seeing through those Democrats. Amazing how CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, etc, keep trying to find anyone in our military that opposes or opposed what we’ve been doing since 9/11. They should be far and between.
