A CIA Dupe Falls For Bin Laden’s BS

Published by at 10:56 am under All General Discussions,Iraq

What can one say about the former CIA head of the Bin Laden unit, who prior to 9-11 underestimated Bin Laden’s abilities, now taking each exaggeration and faux bravado quote by Bin Laden as gospel?

Nearly a month since Osama bin Laden published his message to “our people in Iraq”, it is worth taking a look at what bin Laden really said versus what the media, Western leaders and some prematurely mirthful pundits claim he said.

From al-Qaeda’s perspective, the war is over and Islam has won; Washington’s announcement last week that it intends to begin the withdrawal of 3,000 troops, as well as the US Congress’ recess without renewing war funding, will bolster this perception.

This is just laughable. Bin Laden is trying to salvage his image by claiming al-Qaeda being turned on and chased out of Iraq by their one-time Sunni allies – primarily because of all the atrocities al-Qaeda inflicted on their fellow Muslims – is some kind of victory. And Sheuer actually believes this?? One thing I can say is the CIA needs more brain power. From what I can see from Scheuer, Plame and especially the useful idiot Larry Johnson (not to mention the candle-watt power demonstrated by the VIPS) there is good reason for the CIA to be removed from leading the intelligence community. These people are all ego and no brains.

Is there nothing more pathetically delusional than some has-been claiming Bin Laden really is, truly, winning in Iraq? Please Lord deliver us from stupidity!

Earth to Scheuer: Bin Laden and al-Qaeda can continue to ‘win’ like they are doing right now in Iraq as far as I am concerned.

Did you know Scheuer’s first book contradicts his second book? Most people don’t know he wrote two books.
The guy is a piece of work!

I doubt that even Scheuer believes this twaddle – but it’s the kind of twaddle that the demographic that he thinks will buy his books want to hear. Crass political pandering disguises as “analysis”, when in fact he’s completely missed the boat.

Scheuer pedals his wares with all the sincerity of Paul Begalla who says things just for effect to keep the checks rolling in.

All you have to do is look at his face and his eyes when he is on TV and you see the smirky ‘boy I can get those rubes to buy into this one’ school of PT Barnum.

So his reasoning is that if we talk about bringing troops home and if Congress shows its ass, Bin Laden has won?

Well, when Bin Laden decides to do a victory lap in broad daylight in the middle of Baghdad I might believe that.

Unlike Merlin, Scheuer strikes me as sincere but sadly, badly naive — he’s in way over his head and doesn’t know it. Unfortunately, Clinton & his team at CIA left him in place, as they were negligent & derelict in their duties protecting our country.
(However, it’s not like the CIA has made great strides under Bush)

Most of us will never know how effective or ineffective CIA really is, but it seems to me it is a rats nest of Clinton appointees that were never cleaned out. Incompetents in the vein of Janet Reno, each protecting the others behind and trying to stick it to the Bush administration so that hero Bill may regain power. Lord help us, nitwits like this guy seem to confirm my suspicions.
