Iraq Is Turning As al-Qaeda Is Decimated, But Dems Keep Bloodshed Alive

Published by at 2:02 pm under All General Discussions,Diyala,Iraq

Politicians who want to end the Iraq war need to read this post to the end

So all the armchair experts in DC and NY are not omnipotent, nor do they have the ability to experience the reality of Iraq from half a world away. No big surprise there. It is just a shock how many people, in this modern age of realtime reporting through the internet, still listen to the NY and DC talking heads. Peter Pace, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, has seen what is happening in Iraq and notes the ‘sea change’ in Iraq (something I have been saying for weeks now, but then I read local news sources and don’t listen to Dan Rather clones and Pols out pandering for votes):

RAMADI, Iraq In his most optimistic remarks since the U.S. troop buildup began, Gen. Peter Pace, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said today that parts of Iraq have undergone a “sea change” in security in recent months, and this will influence his recommendation to President Bush on how long to continue the current strategy.

After conferring with Maj. Gen. Walter Gaskin and other commanders in this provincial capital west of Baghdad, Pace told reporters he has gathered a positive picture of the security environment not only here but also in Baghdad, where he began his visit on Monday.

He was asked whether this would inform his thinking about whether to continue the current strategy, with extra U.S. troops battling to secure Baghdad and Anbar province.

“It will because what I’m hearing now is a sea change that is taking place in many places here,” he replied. “It’s no longer a matter of pushing al-Qaida out of Ramadi, for example, but rather _ now that they have been pushed out _ helping the local police and the local army have a chance to get their feet on the ground and set up their systems.”

Mop-up and secure. That is where we are at with those areas that were once the location of 80% of Iraq’s violence. Diyala, Babil and other locations (not originally on the Surge prime list) are close to cleared and ready to graduate to mop-up and secure status.

Yes, there are some roaming Islamo Fascists still around trying to kill as many Muslims as possible because the US Congress and the US Media have trained these killers that that is the only way to garner attention and find any hope of stopping America. If the liberals had said “given these brutal massacres we have no choice but to finish al-Qaeda” the fascists would have received a different message and possibly not gone on a massacre spree. But no, the liberal opportunists decided it was in their best interest to use the deaths for political gain. Which had the obvious result of signalling al-Qaeda to kill more and more for the attention they so crave. So this is what the Surrendercrats and SurrenderMedia have trained the fascists to do as much of as possible in order to keep hope alive someone will stop US forces before they completely decimate al-Qaeda:

Dozens of Shiite villagers in the north were massacred by Sunni extremists, two officials said Tuesday, while a car bomb exploded across the street from the Iranian Embassy in the heart of Baghdad and killed four civilians.

Police Col. Ragheb Radhi al-Omairi said 29 members of a Shiite tribe were massacred overnight in Diyala province when dozens of suspected Sunni gunmen raided their village near Muqdadiyah, about 60 miles northeast of Baghdad. The dead included four women, al-Omairi said.

I said it before and I will say it again – the reason political disputes need to end at our borders is so we don’t allow mad killers the opportunity to use massive death and destruction to influence our strategies. When the Surrendercrats break with Bush they send a signal to al-Qaeda to ramp up the killing. The only silver lining in this is al-Qaeda was so excited to keep the PR images rolling theywent too far and brought the Iraqi street out of their stupor. Now Iraqis who once sheltered and allied with al-Qaeda have taken up arms against them or are turning them in. And this is resulting in the decimation of al-Qaeda anyway:

The top target for al Qaeda in Iraq south of Baghdad was killed July 14 in Arab Jabour by precision-guided munitions, the Excalibur.

Shortly after 12 p.m., 1st Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, received a call that Abu Jurah and 14 anti-Iraqi forces were meeting at a house in Arab Jabour.

Abu Jurah was an AQI cell leader and was responsible for improvised explosive devices, vehicle-borne IED and indirect fire attacks on Coalition Forces in Arab Jabour.

At approximately 1:12 p.m., the house was positively identified allowing 1st Battalion, 9th Field Artillery Regiment to fire two Excalibur rounds destroying the meeting house.

An unmanned aerial vehicle observed persons leaving the house, loading injured individuals into a sedan and fleeing the scene.

An AH-64 Apache helicopter engaged the sedan destroying it.

The Democrat’s lame all-nighter tonight will once again try and snatch a victory for al-Qaeda out of their current string of defeats. It is the wrong singal to send to these murderers. al-Qaeda thinks if they stack up a couple hundred dead Iraqis it will help Dems stop Bush from killing off al-Qaeda. This is what they think. We see every showdown with Congress preceded with relentless massacres across Iraq – to send a signal.

If Democrats and other Surrendercrats cared about the human toll in Iraq they would swear to stay in Iraq until the killing ended and all the terrorists were captured and Killed. Then we would see the end of the bloodshed because the proper signal would have been sent to the Islamo Fascists

Surrendercrats: see if you can untrain al-Qaeda. See if unity will end this by making al-Qaeda give up instead of Bush. Send the right signal if you really want to stop the carnage (verses just gaining votes).

Everyone please pass this challenge on to everyone you know. Dems have their all-nighter tonight, it is a good time to send the right signal to al-Qaeda.

The total disingenuity of this post; the accusations against Democrats; the mindless repetition of the “al-Qaeda is the enemy we face in Iraq” meme; the irrational and uncritical acceptance of any preposterous casting of Iraq in a favorable light does a disservice to the troops in the field: Quite simply – AJ Strata does not know what he’s talking about.

Maliki must be grimly amused by the farce of his chats with Petraeus, Crocker and Bush. It would be riotously funny for him if the price of failure in his exploitation of gullibility were not so high.

And, yeah, right, the Surge is working. Wait until Petraeus says we need another 50,000 troops in September. It’s ESCALATION time. Next up: THE DRAFT.

  2. MerlinOS2 says:

If you look at the number of views of the Jihad PR videos on various net sites, you would be hard pressed to believe that they are all jihad wannabes or snuff flick lovers.

Seems like a lot of people need to keep feeding their frenzy level up to rationalize their withdrawal meme.

It is a major contradiction the the left worries about the “atrocities” at Abu G. , but shows no moral rage over the tactics of suicide bombers and human shield usage.

  3. MerlinOS2 says:

Sooth again repeats their unsupported gymnastics of climbing moonbeams and trying to claim its a stairwell leading to the enlightenment.

  4. Soothsayer says:

So, when Petraeus asks for another 50,000 troops in September you\’ll support his request?

In spite of the fact that we don\’t have 50,000 troops to send, absent a draft.

The wheels are coming off this train wreck, and AJ is up in the cab tooting the horn and singin:

She was comin\’ down the grade makin\’ 90 miles an hour/And the whistle commenced to scream/THey found him there with his hand at the throttle/He\’d been scalded by the steam . . .

  5. MerlinOS2 says:

For your information we could support another 100,000 troops if it was tactically necessary.

You seem to ignore numbers of total in Iraq v total manning levels.

However those kinds of numbers will not likely be necessary.

With all the news of the surge successes, one could question just whose wheels are coming off.

  6. MerlinOS2 says:

Sooth plays crash dummie again and invokes the “draft” boogyman.

Obviously not taking into account it would be drastically faster to recruit locals to augment force levels than the grand delay it would take to approve legislation for a draft , perform the draft, train the new inducties and add them to force levels.

Keep digging you dim bulb is showing.

Yes, the Left gets more viscious every day as their dreams are crashing down around them….

More of Rude, crude and socially unacceptable heading our way as the victories mount for democracy and freedom around the world.

It hasn’t been easy with the blame/hate America first crowd.

    G_d bless George W. Bush!

  8. MerlinOS2 says:

Sooth in the first post in this thread either called AJ wrong or a liar depending on how you read it.

    He’s banned others for less.

  9. Soothsayer says:

Well, Merlin, why don’t you run to Daddy and tell ’em what the bad man did! Call a WAMBULANCE, ya nancy-boy.

He’s banned people for saying he’s WRONG???

  10. MerlinOS2 says:

You can wipe your keyboard off now , that drooling you are doing on it will make your keys sticky.

What a useless tool fool you are. Yet you say you are a lawyer because of all the cases you have tried.

You are so easy that it’s not even a challenge to swat you, but go ahead I am sure you will have rationalized to yourself that you are winning.

  11. Terrye says:

It is really sad and pathetic that there are people on the left who think that bringing democracy and security to Iraq is the wrong thing to do.

I am honestly glad that there were not more people like sooth the spook back in 45, God only knows what Japan and Europe would look like today.

  12. Terrye says:

If sooth is a big shot lawyer with a high IQ why is hanging out here, bugging AJ and yammering about the Chimp etc. Sounds like a high school drop out in Mom’s basement to me.

  13. MerlinOS2 says:

It is worthy of note that Sooth only comes up with a link to some bit of snark commentary.

Guess it must be really hard to find data and proof that the surge is not having a positive effect.

But perhaps more pressing matters like putting on the Fitzgerald for AG Tshirt and watching the live feed of the Harry Reid slumber party he has to prepare for and make sure the Tacos and Pizza are ordered in large enough quantities for the house party they are convening tonight.

  14. AJStrata says:

    Sooth,

You can’t even use HTML tags, let alone understand the world outside your window. Stop screwing up your tags!

  15. MerlinOS2 says:

    AJ

I am surprised you haven’t had a post on the expulsion of the Russian guys over in England over the PO210 story.

Kind of a harsh step for a story that has been admittedly overridden by the attempted car bombings, but still hard to find new data points on.

  16. MerlinOS2 says:

To pull that strong a reaction out of the British government, you have to believe they have a lot of data to support their position that hasn’t even had a chance to see the light of day.

  17. Terrye says:

Yes, the slumber party . I bet Zawhiri will be watching CSpan from his cave, cheering on his buddies.

The sad thing is, no one should want to see America defeated, but her enemies. And no one should want to see the Iraqis deserted but theirs.

What do they think they will be leaving behind? And what do they think life will be like for the Americans who have to stay there after they have run up the white flag?

  18. biglsusportsfan says:

Excellent post. We jsut have to get this infor out. Despite Sooths strange tirade(there will be no draft) the sucess is there for any one to see. Bush has found his General Grant.

Read this article and it will explain in great detail how the surge can work but can only be defeated by a lack of will to move forward.

    History is repeating itself.

  20. lurker9876 says:

Merlin, Thought that General Pace was coming up with a list of options, including another troop surge, based on any new Bush policies? Not that Pace was actually recommending another surge.

But Pace also said that things are going well.

Did you read Thomas Sowell’s article over at NRO?
