What Is Edwards Thinking?

Published by at 5:02 am under 2008 Elections,All General Discussions

John Edwards has really stuck his foot in his mouth with his speech that terrorism is not all that bad and we need to get over it. 9-11 was THE WORST single attack on this country in its history. In a matter of hours 3,000 good souls lost their lives. Edwards goes as far as to remind us terrorism was around well before Bush took office. This is an apparent attempt to go back to the ignorance of the pre 9-11 days when we pretended there was nothing to fear. The level of denial here is stunning, and reflects poorly on the far left in this country. Their frustration with Bush has led them to the point of wanting the whole war on terror to simply be a bad dream that we can pretend is not that bad. Edwards needs to take a trip to ground zero for a refresher course. Al Qaeda wants to destroy us. They make that clear every day. We cannot let them win. It doesn’t matter that the dems cannot win seats because their base is so far in denial about terrorism. That is their problem, and they created it for themselves. Edwards wants us to risk our lives and pretend it is not a dangerous world so he has a chance at winning an election. That is what I call gross desperation for power.

Only way they can win is if we all go back to 9/10. They can’t win on corruption, they can’t win on taxes, they can’t win on many core issues at all. Can you imagine how much of an ass beating they would be getting if there was an impartial media? I’m not saying a right wing or left wing media, just one that reported the facts and didn’t turn everything into an op-ed for one party or the other.

He’s thinking that if he can get his hands on the money that is being spent on the various wars he can implement his domestic policies.

I listened to President Bush today, he sounds like the only sane person in a sea of fools, not only on Iraq, but on immigration and taxes.

I listened to that same conference. I agree with about 99% of what Pres Bush does and says, but he is totally missing the boat on immigration. What he wants is NOT what the American public wants. While I don’t believe in governing by polls, he should at least know about the results of them, such as one that says 91% oppose this Amnesty bill.

Ok For, no Amnesty, then what?

Lets take the non examined alternative.

Which is DO NOTHING AT ALL.

If they (all nationalities) can cross the border at will and stake their claim to the job market or whatever, no matter how you look at it at some point that is really hard to define, the situation will eventually reach a point of saturation. Heck we may already be there. As many have said , a lot of the illegals were employed by the housing industry, which really is having a headache right now.

Beyond that it hits the wall of diminishing returns, giving less incentive for others to follow the bait. In effect, becoming self regulating.

It is a symbiotic relationship, their success depends on our success.

If the market gets flooded then wages for all are held down and may even diminish. Remember illegals are not subject to even a new revised clean and fresh minimum wage.

This all falls in with that old saw supply and demand stuff that passes over way to many heads.

Which is exactly why the dems support some sort of bill to be passed.

It is the only way they have a chance of getting some or whatever percentage of the group they can rope in as voters.

Otherwise they can recruit them as voters and when it gets big enough even they can’t hide the fraud.

That is unless you believe Bush caused 9/11 and all the 2 X 10 to the 26th participants kept their mouth shut and nobody leaked the plot to the press.

Then also we have to deal with the reality that even if border crossings stopped tomorrow due to Area 51 foreign fighters patrolling the borders with 100% effect that the pool of illegals are breeding faster than the job market can adsorb, even without additional inflow across the border. Again this will hit up against the old supply and demand thing.

The dems can read the figures on job markets and worker availability as much as anyone else who wants to can do.

It just to dry for to many people to build an interest.

That is the reason they are willing to jump on the band wagon at this point in time.

They realize that saturation may almost be there and if so, that their position will be undermined as the reality becomes more known and demonstrated.

In short they have the itch to move on the issue before it slips from their grasp.

I mean the dems have such a great track record.

Look at the “War on Poverty” , the only reason it hasn’t crashed under it’s own weight is hundreds of trimming the sails of that ill fated ship that have kept it breathing to minimize the damage it has done, rather than just leave it alone to suffer a well deserved death.

Don’t even get me started on programs like “Head Start”, by now we should have after all these years achieved the nirvana of equal performance in education. Maybe I missed the press release.

Not to mention Hillary just came out with the “we need your four year olds” at only the minimal cost estimate of 10 billion to do more social engineering.

I have total faith that she can make it happen with good success as all those other endeavors have had.

Oh and how many post offices did Hillary name in her notable tour as Senator of NY.

Gotta love this stuff, you can’t even make it up.

Stupid is as stupid does, or something like that.

Speaking of which, whatever happened to Carol Herman?
