Islamo Fascist “Surge” Not Materializing

Published by at 8:51 am under All General Discussions,Bin Laden/GWOT

The SurrenderMedia is perplexed and confused. Yet again the Islamo Fascists have failed to bring on the quagmire. Again, they have failed to show they can withstand the focused efforts of the West. Again, they have failed to make the case they are too strong for America to stop:

The killing of the one-legged Dadullah is a major victory against the Taliban, which is trying to overthrow the government after being driven out of power in late 2001. Dadullah’s death could disrupt the insurgency over the next few months, although it’s not clear whether the movement will be hurt in the long run.

But his death, and the Taliban’s failure to deliver the sort of fighting promised for months, raises questions about what is happening with the movement. Although there have been pockets of harsh fighting in Helmand province and almost daily suicide attacks in Afghanistan, the violence has not been at the levels anticipated by many this year nor the levels vowed by the Taliban.

Only defeatists were expecting the Taliban surge. Only Surrendercrats were waiting – with palatable anticiptation – the spanking of America and her allies by these brutal fascists. But the reality is our position is one of strength, not faltering weakness (H/T Salon on noting the typos). Freedom does shine a powerful light that rots the support of these fascist movements. The Taliban, and al Qaeda, are finding brutality does not bring support – it brings out self defense. al Qaeda is penned into Diyala province and desperately trying to strike back. But their efforts in the face of up 7,000 trained and well equipped troops heading to the Province are tragically laughable:

The worst attack occurred in the Diyala province capital of Baqouba, 35 miles northeast of Baghdad, when unidentified gunmen in two cars opened fire on a police checkpoint, killing three policemen and two civilians, police said. Two policemen and four civilians were wounded in the 9:30 a.m. attack, which ended when the assailants fled the scene, police said.

At the microcosm level this is sad and tragic. In the big picture, though, having 5 police taken out of commission per day means it will take 3.9 years for the terrorists to work their way through the military forces heading their way. And the reason these faux brutes target police and civilians is they would be chewed up and spit out sideways if they went up against Iraqi or US military forces. It is not a question of ‘if’ the insurgents will be crushed. If the local population turns on al Qaeda in Diyala like it did in Anbar it will only be a question of ‘when’.

The SurrenderMedia has a terrible habit of seeing the brutality of the Islamo Fascists as the beginning of a resurgency, when the record shows that the violence peaks at the time al Qaeda is ready to lose control of a region. It is their classic ‘last ditch effort’ to retain relevancy. It happened in Anbar and it resulted in 200 Sunni tribes singing pacts to chase al Qaeda from Iraq. It is now happening again in Diyala as the local death squads try one final attempt at control:

he United States military surge in Iraq, designed to turn around the course of the war, appears to be failing as senior US officers admit they need yet more troops and new figures show a sharp increase in the victims of death squads in Baghdad.

In the first 11 days of this month 234 bodies – men murdered by death squads – have been dumped around the capital, a dramatic rise from the 137 found in the same period last month.

These men belong to tribes who were waivering in their support to al Qaeda. The foreigners coming into Iraq and killing the locals are not Americans – they are Islamo Fascists. The Arab/Muslim street does rise up when their own are being lined up and gunned down. And when they go public with their new war on al Qaeda it means a line has been crossed, one which cannot be turned crossed back over:

A newly formed Islamic militant group accused al-Qaida of killing 12 of its senior members in Baghdad’s Dora neighborhood in a statement posted Monday on its Web site.

The Jihad and Reform Front described Saturday’s killings as a “catastrophe that befell on us” and urged al-Qaida to hand over the culprits to be tried by its Islamic court, the posting said.

The group was formed by merging the Islamic Army in Iraq, the Mujahideen Army and some senior leaders from the Sharia Commission of Ansar al-Sunnah, according to the Front’s founding notice, posted two weeks ago. But leaflets recently plastered on walls in the western city of Fallujah said the 1920 Revolution Brigades had joined the Front as well.

“Twelve of our mujahideen, mostly field commanders from the Mujahideen Army, were killed in a perfidious ambush set up by some of our past comrades whom we did not expect to betray us in such a cruel and barbaric way,” the Front said in Monday’s statement.

Yes, there is civil war in Iraq. The one we wanted way back on 9/12/01. The Muslim community is taking sides and most are turning to our side. SurrenderMedia and Surrendercrats have no control over the bloodlust of the Islamo Fascists. And in the end THAT will be what turns this war to our eventual success. No amount of PR or message control here in the US or in the West can change the fight for humanity’s soul now raging in Iraq. Brutality will lose to self determination.

There goes Ken-Gil-Soothsayer and now Happywash taking over the thread again. I have said in the past that this guy was assigned this blog to disrupt and get out the dim mantra by repetition by the Soros people. There is no other reason why he has stayed on this site for so many years. He really cannot feel welcome. We deride him at every point. I wish everyone would ignore him. He contributes nothing to the discussion. I not only get tired of his garbage but I get tired of anyone holding discourse with him. He and all his rants are irrelevant.

As of last Friday, this petition [resolution] received the majority votes and on its way to some legal committee to ensure the legality of the petition [resolution] to be put to the floor for some final vote. It will not go to the floor for several weeks.

Also, the petition [resolution] was to be tied in with conditions, such as Iraqi police training, which is similar to our own benchmarks that Bush came up with.

I have also read that some of the voters that voted in favor of this petition are beginning to have second thoughts about it.

Also, the petition did not say that Iraq shall govern the timeline but rather requesting USA to come up with the timelines.

I doubt very seriously that this petition [resolution] would be final by now.

But, hey, it proves that democracy works and if this bill is enacted into law requesting USA to come up with a timeline, so be it. The fault would be on Iraq; not us.

Hhhmmm…I see that McNulty is resigning…

I wonder how much of a foot print Comey has gained by now…

But there’s an article over at Weekly Standard that we’re not going to see any changes…YET!!

My mental adjustment? I am still remembering when Clinton was president and yammering about Saddam and his weapons and the need to liberate Iraq…..for people who change reality with every president and every turn in events it is really funny to listen to the left lecture other people about dealing with reality.

Zarqawi was not weaving baskets when Saddam was in power, he was a terrorist…as were Abu Nidal and Carlos the Jackal and all the other terrorists he harbored. I know the left thinks Iraq would be a kite flying paradise today if not for Bush, but then the left never offers a viable alternative, never assumes responsibility for their errors and never does much of anything but bitch.

The Iraqi government has made it plain they want the US to stay as long as they need us there and no longer. That is what the US government wants too. The left is more afraid of ultimate success than failure and as such are constantly threatening us with the day that the Iraqis rise up in masse and demand we leave. But right now they seem a lot more interested in getting rid of the terrorists than they are the US.

In fact they want us to stay and rebuild the county. Fat chance that will happen if the soothie/happy/gil bitch and yammer club get their way. The only thing the Iraqis will get is dead.

Does anyone feel like Happywash and Southie are the same person debating himself?

I am always amused when the Stalinists say there was no Al Qaeda in Iraq before we got there. Al Qaeda was in ever country in Europe, Asia and the Middle East …but somehow it never got into Iraq until we got there. These people are either ignorant or pure propagandists.

  6. ordi says:

They are pure propagandists paid by megalomaniac Soros.

This would be laughable if it were not the definition of parannoid schizophrenia. Whine- whine – whine.

McNulty’s resignation is a big deal. How soon will he be testifying against Alberto Gonzales – the most corrupt Attorney General since the disgraced and imprisoned John Mitchell – who was – if memory serves – another Wimpublican weasel.

  8. lurker9876 says:

McNulty has already testified. He probably knows that Monica will say something against McNutly.

    Soothie,

This was posted by a freeper at freerepublic:
    From: http://www.macsmind.com/wordpress/

Back in March, Clarice Feldman wrote:

“Lost in the kerfuffle about the Gonzales firings of 8 US Attorneys is the fact that Chuck Schumer has a hidden agenda: acting not only as the Senator from New York but as well as the Attorney General of the U.S. He pushed for the appointment of a Special Counsel, wrote at least 2 letters to the Attorney General resquesting updates on the investigation and demanding action on the CIA referral letter respecting the public identification of Plame,. He obtained from Deputy AG Comey the promise to appoint a special counsel and looked the other way when one was appointed outside the statutory and constitutional framework for such appointments. Both Comey and Fitzgerald were well-known to him at the time having worked in the Southern District of New York.

If he succeeds in forcing Gonzales to resign , Gonzales’ Deputy will undoubtedly take over. That deputy, McNulty, like Comey and Fitzgerald, also comes from the office of the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York and is close to Schumer and his former colleage”

At justoneminute on their lastest thread, they are talking about how Schumer just got checkmated because McNulty was his boy. I also find it interesting that macranger at macsmind just posted a few days ago that his sources were saying Gonzalez and GW were taking the gloves off and prosecutions pending against donks were moving forward, i.e. Jefferson and the NSA leak case where a grand jury has been seated for about a year. I wonder if that is why Rockefeller has been real quiet for some time. It is important to note, that replacing Gonzales with McNulty could have tripped those investigations up or sidelined them forever.

  10. Soothsayer says:

    1. As we’ve learned from recent events, just because you’ve testified once doesn’t mean you can’t testify again.

    2. When Gonzales is forced out, and Bush attempts to name a replacement, confirmation will come at a high price – most likely assent in having a Special Prosecutor named to go after Gonzales, Rove and the others invovled in Attorneygate.

    3. macranger is a puerile moron. pass the kool-aid.

I am truly happy that I don’t have to wake up in the morning and see a certain sorosite in the mirror…or live with one.

And again I ask, how does this sorosite know so much about what “will” happen…hmmmm….

  12. roonent1 says:

    Soothie,

Your world is crashing around you. Gonzalez is not going anywhere, but Jefferson and Rockefeller might be getting fitted for a cell next to Randy Duke Cunnigham. Oh, let’s not forget Feinstein that profited 100’s of millions of dollars by steering contracts to businesses operated by her husband. Makes Randy Duke Cunningham look small time. BTW, who found discovered Feinstein’s activites? A liberal. Hahahahaha! She resigned from her post right away. I wonder why? Hahahahahahaha!

I trust macranger over you any day. He usually gets the facts right while you get them wrong.

Just like the dems are caving to GW on Iraq because some of them are starting to see things are turning around there, you are going to end up on the losing side with Pelosi and Reid, Ken (oh sorry, new moniker Soothie since Ken got banned here).

Me thinks, YOU protest too much, not to mention your failed attempt at projecting your mental health issues onto me. It is you that does NOTHING but whine – whine – whine on this site.

The following is just a small amount of the whining you do on this site:

Wa Wa Wa – Bush needs to be impeached – We are going to impeach Bush Wa- Wa – Wa

Wa Wa Wa – all republicans are dirty rotten liars

Wa Wa Wa – A Special Prosecutor is going to go after Gonzales and ROVE, did I mention ROVE!!!!

You and Little Chuckie are about to be awakened from your self induced FALSE reality! Say Hi To Mr Soros for us! And enjoy your Lefty Lemon Kool-Aid!

“Responding to an anonymous telephone call, police found dozens of spent shell casings on the ground at the altar near the bodies, which had been shot in the head at close range, state authorities told Reuters.”

“gunmen killed four policemen who worked as bodyguards for the family of the country’s most influential state governor.”

“At least 800 people have been killed this year.”

If you guessed Iraq, you would be wrong!!

“This is for everyone who messes with the Gulf Cartel. Welcome to Nuevo Laredo, bunch of assholes,” read the message, written on orange paper and taped to a wall near the altar, set up below a highway bridge.

I keep hearing how the world hates us, hates Bush…but the pro American won in Germany, Mexico and France and while AlQaida might be popular within the ranks of the Democratic party, it has little support elsewhere.

I can remember when Reagan was president and hundreds of thousands if not millions marched against his foreign policy.

Well, he was right and they were wrong and today those same people are yammering about Bush. I think they are still wrong.

  16. Soothsayer says:

    Counter-Surge IS materializing:

As the White House stood firm in its commitment to a troop surge in the Iraq war, statistics released this week show a key indicator of progress in Iraq trending in the wrong direction.

Insurgent death squads dumped 234 bodies around Baghdad in the first 11 days of May, a 70.8 percent increase from the 137 bodies dumped around the capital during the first 11 days of April, The Observer of London reported Sunday.

The new figures emerged as the commander of US forces in northern Iraq, Major General Benjamin Mixon, admitted he did not have enough soldiers to contain the escalating violence in Diyala province, which neighbours Baghdad and has become the focus of the heaviest fighting between largely Sunni insurgent groups and the US army, which has seen casualties increase by 300 per cent. Sixty-one US soldiers have been killed in Diyala this year, compared with 20 in all of last year.

Mixon, interviewed by The Observer earlier this year, has not made a secret of his frustration at the declining situation in Diyala and has already reinforced the area around Baqouba – the centre of the heaviest fighting – with additional troops.

Ironically, the violence in Diyala has been exacerbated by an influx of both Shia and Sunni fighters displaced from Baghdad by the surge and also from Anbar province who have relocated to Diyala to join a series of jihadi and nationalist groups already based there.

Mixon, who was speaking in Tikrit, said: ‘I’m going to need additional forces, to get that situation to a more acceptable level, so the Iraqi security forces will be able in the future to handle that.’ He was also highly critical of Iraqi government in Baghdad, charging that it was riddled with corruption.

Oh, yeah, the surge is going swimmingly – UNLESS you’re a US soldier – whose tour has been extended by a president who does not care if you live or die – as long as he doesn’t hve to get blamed for it.

  17. lurker9876 says:

You haven’t read anything after this article. Your own article is already outdated.

We’re sending more soldiers to Diyala. So is Iraq.

Bush cares more about the soldiers and Americans than you do. He cares more about our own country than you do. Why do you think our soldiers are far more willing to salute to Bush? Why do you think our soldiers continue to re-up for another tour? Each and every war saw extensions of our soldiers. There’s nothing to blame Bush for it.

  18. lurker9876 says:

I see that Monica Goodling just got amnesty / immunity. The timing of Monica’s amnesty and McNulty’s resignation tells some of us that Monica would be testifying against McNulty. McNulty’s resignation really means he was fired. McNulty was cc’ed on all of those emails and he falsified his testimony back in February. Funny Schumer and the Senate Judiciary Committee did not go after McNulty. Why? Because McNulty and Schumer are buddy-buddy-buddy.

  19. Soothsayer says:

He cares more about our own country than you do.

Horse-bleep. If he cared about them – why did he send them on an ill-advised misadventure without proper planning, numbers of boots on the ground, equipment and/or body armor?

Each and every war saw extensions of our soldiers.

Oh yeah. Prove it. It’s a flat-out lie.

  20. scaulen says:

    SS:
Your an idiot, he cares about the country, country re-read it. Sometimes what is best for the country is sending our troops over seas to fight and die for their country. We all understand that when we sign the contract. If we didn’t want to do it we wouldn’t join an all volunteer fighting force. Also reenlistment would be at all time lows making it impossible to keep the amount of troops we have in Iraq and Afghanistan, never mind to come up with more troops for the surge. It’s amazing how hypocritical Democrats are when it’s Rhodes Scholar in hiding President Clinton rattling a saber, and sending troops to possibly die.

Also as for how long troops stayed in combat in previous wars, ask a WWII vet how long their tours were. They were in until the end of the war plus X amount of time as seen fit by the war dept. Unless they died, or were physically incapable of fighting, at which time they we’re either released to civilian life, or put into a billet that they could perform their duty to their country.

Head out of ass sometime SS, you’re really missing a huge turning point in the war on terror. Get behind what we are doing and we can end it much sooner, drag your feet, pout and fight against it and all you are doing is causing it to drag on and helping to cause more deaths of our troops.
