1400 Militants Killed? 600 Detainees In US Custody?

Published by at 10:58 pm under All General Discussions,Pakistan

I have no idea what to make of this report because the numbers are staggering:

Pakistan on Friday said that a total of about 1,400 people have been killed in over 100 military operations in South and North Waziristan Agencies and asked the international community to extend over a billion dollars for development schemes to win hearts and minds of the people against war on terror.

NWFP Governor Lt Gen (retd) Ali Mohammad Jan Aurakzai told the participants of the Pakistan Development Forum here on Friday that Pakistani forces had killed over 600 militants, including foreigners, and handed over to the United States an equal number of persons involved in acts of terrorism.

These numbers would be stunning if true. More later this weekend if I get a chance to investigate more.

what’s staggering is the complete idiocy of the US contemplating putting money in this taliban controlled territory. is there anyone who seriously thinks that this money will not go directly to the taliban? i mean find me one person who’s that naive. pakistan even admits, behind closed doors, that they cannot police the area. that’s why they came up with their supposed “peace” plan late last year.

you cannot buy off radical islam………..

    Very important point CP.

Based on recent news report of 30 to 50 at a time losses this would seem to be a total recap of since 9/11.

I have seen to many dribble news items about 6 or 7 to give it credit this is last month’s box score.
