Scientists Rebuke Global Warming Hysteria

Published by at 7:54 pm under All General Discussions,Global Warming

There is not scientific consensus on the source of Global Warming because all that exist are unproven theories and conflicting evidence. The fact is there are no facts yet. But there are indications that the current warming is tied to solar activity and not CO2 (since the warming is NOT tied to CO2 levels but does track really well to solar brightness):

The current debate about global warming is “completely irrational,” and people need to start taking a different approach, say two Ottawa scientists.

Carleton University science professor Tim Patterson said global warming will not bring about the downfall of life on the planet.

Patterson said much of the up-to-date research indicates that “changes in the brightness of the sun” are almost certainly the primary cause of the warming trend since the end of the “Little Ice Age” in the late 19th century. Human emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), the gas of concern in most plans to curb climate change, appear to have little effect on global climate, he said.

“I think the proof in the pudding, based on what (media and governments) are saying, (is) we’re about three quarters of the way (to disaster) with the doubling of CO2 in the atmosphere,” said Patterson. “The world should be heating up like crazy by now, and it’s not. The temperatures match very closely with the solar cycles.”

Got that. The CO2 levels have doubled yet the temperature has barely moved (a degree is not a big movement on the global scale). The media can barely add 2+2, let alone grasp the complex mechanisms of climate which the top brightest scientists have yet to unravel. So listening to these HS science drop outs is pretty useless.

Just about all of the “warming” that has happened since the 1930’s happened in one single year … 1998 … and it has been cooling ever since.

Basically what happened was this … temperatures warmed from the end of the Little Ice Age to a peak at about 1933. From about 1935 temperatures cooled until 1976. From 1976 to about 1990 they quickly rose back to almost what they had been in 1933 and began cooling again. In 1998 the temperature in North America shot way up. took a huge jump, and then started back down again. In 06 it jumped up again but not as high as 1998.

Conditions are now set for substantial cooling. Both the Pacific Decadal Oscillation and the North Atlantic Oscillation are entering “cool” phases at the same time we are at solar minimum. Also today at Space.com it is reported that we are likely to stay at minimum for a while as it looks like solar cycle 24 is going to be up to a year late in starting.

They are going to be desperate to get legislation in place and their candidates elected now because in a couple of more years it is going to be impossible to hide any longer that the climate isn’t warming.
