More AP Exaggerations

Published by at 12:38 pm under All General Discussions,Iraq

In a country of 20 million, one would see the protest of a few hundred people as something well below ‘underwhelming’. But not the AP and other propaganda outifts. They exclaim that protestors are taking to the streets in protests in response to Saddam’s hanging. The pictures tell the story. Here is one that shows a hole three people protesting. Wow. Here is a close up of maybe 40 people. Here is another close up of maybe 100 people. Another shot shows the lack of depth in the crowd. Clearly the signs of Saddam are there to hide the empty square behind this massive outcrying. One poor guy could only round up about ten protestors – requiring a real close up! And if there are not enough people, then you can always fill the shot with a picture of poor, misunderstood (wish he was still in power) Saddam. But the reality is there are probably less than 100 people out here bemoaning poor Saddam. This shot shows the insignificance of the crowd. As does this one. But that is not the one being used to make the case Iraq is up in arms over Saddam. The Palestinians put on a much better demonstration than the Iraqis (now this is a crowd).

Update: Seems Dafydd over at Big Lizards also pounced on this idiotic story by the media.

The AP, ME, and Suicide Bombers prove that inbreeding works…

Meanwhile – in the REAL world:

The body of an Associated Press employee was found shot in the back of the head Friday, six days after he was last seen by his family leaving for work. Ahmed Hadi Naji, 28, was the fourth AP staffer to die violently in the Iraq war and the second AP employee killed in less than a month. He had been a messenger and occasional cameraman for the AP for 2 1/2 years.

We’re making REAL progress in Iraq! Let’s talk about the successes!!
