Change Policy Or Else More Attacks

I agree with the reader at Powerline that news reports regarding a recent letter from UK Muslim leaders to PM Blair and other UK leaders basically says “change your ME policies, or else”:

Dr Bari, secretary general of the Muslim Council of Britain and one of the signatories, said: “As Muslims we condemn attacks on civilians wherever they happen.

“We hope the government will do more to ensure its policy doesn’t allow people to believe that the lives of some civilians are worth more to it than others.”

The letter attempts to equate the policy of the UK with terrorist attacks such as the one just foiled in the UK. It claims all attacks on innocent civilians are bad, but then only demands changes from the UK. The Letter starts off with what would seem to be a call to challenge Al Qaeda and all its blood-thirsty variations:

As British Muslims we urge you to do more to fight against all those who target civilians with violence, whenever and wherever that happens.

But no, it is not a demand to stop Al Qaeda and their ilk who ONLY target civilians because, in their quest to die for their cause, they are unwilling to die facing Western Military forces – so they target civilians in markets, mosques, hotels, airliners and weddings. Iraq is actually not the mess the media is pointing it out to be. Iraq is a tough situation because the terrorists are so fanatical. It is not a failure of policy that keeps the violence up there. If the terrorists really wanted to die for Allah and avoid civilian casualties they would confront our military posts and receive a quick trip to heaven. But that is not the end of their cause. They must kill massive numbers of people when they martyr themselves. And that has left them to kill Muslims.

What people fail to take from Iraq is how much worse it will get if we let off the pressure. These animals are killing fellow Muslims at an unbelievable rate. They make Saddam and his psychotic sons look like pleasant in comparison. Their version of a good life is violent oppression on as many people as possible. We are the only force holding them back and their desire to enslave the entire Iraq nation.

If these animals are this tough when back on their heels and facing our forces in their own backyeard, how tough do people think it will be to eradicate them from our own cities? The UK Muslim message was to stop attacking our innocent brethren (who chop of heads of people for their snuff films – they must really like those flicks) in the ME or we cannot do anything to stop the mindlessness from coming here.

Interestingly, if we can stop them in the ME we have more hope of stopping them here in the West – not less. The propaganda experts are out in full force and the useful idiots who fantasize the world is not dangerous are lapping it up. Which means the test of resolve lies with those who know we can only see this through to a successful end or we will see a long painful surrender.

Update: The Blair government has responded to the letter and calling the premise “foolish and dangerous”. No kidding.

Why we can not listen to ME complaints—-because so many in the ME have not evolved past teen age thinking. Any one who has raised teenagers will recognise the thinking. Who me, it’s not my fault, because of you bla, bla mentality is so typical of the thinking. Dictatorships act as parents who do not help their children take responsibility for their actions. We need to keep reminding these people that there are consequences to abhorrent behaviour. This country will go anywhere, at any time and remind those who need reminding that there consequences for their behaviour. This is why Iraq is so difficult, it is messy and difficult to raise teenagers.

When I listen to ME men rationalise their behaviour I can’t help think of how difficult it was to raise 2 teenagers. They had an excuse, rational and a blame for every bad decision. The only way to help them take responsibility for their behaviour was to help them meet the consequences, fast, sure and swiftly. I could never let up, vacillate or hesitate. Until the ME grows up we must be ferocious, swift and deadly. Never give up or give in. This is going to take a long time because teenagers are not fast learners.

    AJ,
I agree we must stop them in the ME to prevent the terrorists getting a hold in the West.

Unlike Kathie,I am not ready to dismiss the ME apologists of terrorism as immature and irresponsible. The problem seems to be more malignant. The militant variation of Islam and its enablers are a threat.
