“White House Insider” Turns Into Kooky Tin Hat Fiction

Published by at 9:02 am under All General Discussions

So, the GOP has won an historic election in the House of Representatives and in state governments across the nation. So what can a cornered and desperate democrat party do? It can trick the new GOP members into the lame game of conspiracy theories. It can lay out some poisonous bread crumbs that will bring out the inner ‘Birther‘ of the fringe in the Tea Party – and set the stage for another voter backlash. This time against the GOP.

I have been following the story of the ‘Washington Insider’ posts for a while, and they seemed to be legit – if not stubbornly useless (see here, here and here). One reason I was starting to believe this yarn being spun by a niche web author and a supposed ‘white house insider’ is because of the information I uncovered in the link listed above. I discovered direct testimony of President-elect Obama’s involvement with selecting who should take over his senate seat. The testimony is clear, unambiguous and from those directly involved – one who is his top adviser bar none. This testimony and what it represents is clearly a lever Democrats could use to distance themselves from Obama’s mistakes and missteps.

But these insider posts also could be misinformation, meant to trip up the GOP and send them down the wrong path. America really could care less about Obama’s birth certificate. The initial claims of forgery were completely and thoroughly debunked. The only thing that could save the Democrats right now is if the GOP goes off the deep end.

The latest installment of this cyber-mystery begins with such blatant nonsense – and has yet to produce anything concrete – that the folks behind it have clearly tipped their hand:

Ulsterman: …The birther thing? You heard something on that?

Insider: I sure as -expletive- did. And they said it came from Pelosi herself…

Insider: Well, she was at it again and then she says something along the lines of, “How about I just hand over the goddamn certification file. They want me to go there? Because that’s where they’re pushing me.”

Ulsterman: Certification file? What is that? Do you mean certificate file? Birth certificate?

Insider: Hell if I know – no…it was certification file – assume it has something to do with the whole birther thing – eligibility maybe? Just thought you might want to hear it. Just thought you might find it…interesting! It’s an odd thing to say, right? And it’s even odder that it was said like that period. The person who shared it with me thought so. … Something like that will get your ass killed. No joke. But there it is – call it a peace offering for my rudeness to you in that last email.

This is pure black-helicopter BS. No one takes this mess serious – no one is going to be killed for being foolish enough to buy into it.

Even if the ‘insider’ is real and is feeding real 3rd-person rumors, it is more gossip than anything else. To throw the ‘Birther’ crap into this mess is a red flag. It just destroys any implied credibility that had been building, and actually puts this little PR game into a serious credibility hole. Weeks and weeks of hints of some pending scandal that would bring down a sitting President and save the Democrat Party from its laughable left wing – and this is what we get?

So now we either have:

  • A shrewd insider ‘double agent’ pretending to lay out bread crumbs to an easily duped corner of the GOP and Tea Party so they can burn through their limited political capitol chasing ghosts, or
  • A complete fiction created by Ulsterman, or
  • A real scandal coming.

Checkout this snippet while sitting in the skeptics perch:

Those Republicans on the Hill? Oh yeah, those little -expletive- are gonna bring the hammer down on this. They are gonna break every damn thing open until they find it – and they are gonna get help from some Democrats along the way. And you know the president knows it.

Not without Democrats leading the charge.

If anyone is to believe there is something here after the last couple of posts, then there better be something damn tangible and solid in the next. Or else I am flipping the channel on this charade.

Addendum: LOL – it seems this installment is to set the stage for a huge -expletive- ‘never mind’!

Insider: … Hell, from my perspective, her staying on might very well signal a deal breaker. A goddamn deal breaker! But that ain’t gonna happen. No sir. Unless I’m wrong of course – then this thing is a cluster -expletive- multiple times over.

I strongly suspect Nancy Pelosi has certain information, or parts of information, that-that would be essential to helping certain investigations against the White House. Investigations that could lead all the way to the top. It was my understanding that Pelosi had decided to let this information be known to others, say members of a committee, in her…absence.

Ok, so if I’m being told this, being told repeatedly that Speaker Pelosi has had it with the White House, has had it with the president, is gonna help send them all packin’ away to political has-been street, and then she actually stays on as party leader, that means something happened. Something changed from what I am being told. Or somebody got it wrong – and either way, I can be -expletive- over on this whole thing.

It seems our brave, little -expletive- of an ‘Insider’ has been thwarted – by Nancy Pelosi! Anyone really think liberal Pelosi would turn on liberal Obama and help the more centrist Clintonistas regain control of the party???

The phrase “certification file” is pretty damn vague. When “ulsterman” asks ” what is that?” the answer is “Hell if I know.”

So everything past that point is pure conjecture / wishful thinking, and the interpretation is definitely conspiracy theory stuff. It could just as easily be certification of vote results in some election. (I’m just saying that to point out alternate interpretations, not because I believe in any particular one)

I’m not convinced that the “Insider” is trying to lead people astray as much as he is just trying to pretend that he knows a lot more than he really does and is covering that up by being a great storyteller. I’ve run into any number of storytellers in my life (I’m sure all of you have, too) and no matter what scale they play on, the basic techniques are the same. Give your audience a hook, get them to buy in, keep them coming back for more. It’s the same game, whether it’s the “Insider” spinning tales about Obama or Redneck Charlie bumming drinks down at the club with entertaining stories about why he can never keep a job.

And actually, those people can be a lot of fun to be around as long as you never let yourself really believe anything they say. Those are the rules of the game. Now, every once in a while a bit of Truth *does* slip out of their lips (probably due to the law of averages) and this can be useful, so it’s worth a follow up. But never believe anything a storyteller says without very strong, independent corroboration.

And here, based on nothing but my gut feeling, is the kernel of Truth buried in this story, if all the storytelling is removed:

(my interpretation of the conversation follows)

Insider: Nancy Pelosi has a file of stuff that could really hurt Obama if it got out.

    Ulsterman: Really? What is it?

    Insider: hell if I know.

    (end fantasy transcription)

that much I believe, because it’s not much of a surprise. Of course they all have dirt on each other, that’s the world they live in. Will it ever get out? I doubt it. That’s the problem with blackmail info – it only has value as long as it’s kept secret. The person who lets the secrets out loses all of their leverage the instant they do.

    WWS,

Don’t forget two other games plaid here in DC. (1) the art of the bluff and (2) the real threat of MAD.

  4. WWS says:

I read the interview; “insider” predicted Pelosi would be out, and he’s wrong on that. Would she employ “mad” against Obama? She just might – but then again she held on to her power over the Dems, and that may be all she wants. And I truly believe that she never saw the loss coming until after it happened; when she “guaranteed a win”, it was because she absolutely believed that.

She is power mad and delusional. And she has total control the Dem’s congressional caucus. This is what I see as the biggest problem for the Dem Party going into the future – they are now controlled by people (Pelosi, Reid) who are going to be supremely happy to stay in the minority for the rest of their lives as long as they are allowed to personally “get theirs” and are never forced to compromise. This is how a party dies; the people in charge make a conscious decision to kill it in order to stay in control until the end. The congressmen in small, gerrymandered urban ghetto districts like Eddie Bernice Johnson are going to be very happy for their districts to stay that way, even if it kills their party nationally, because they have their private fiefdoms set up and that’s all that really matters to them.

Now as far as the other stuff “insider” alludes to about Obama: this is conjecture, but I can’t shake the feeling that sometime in the next two years *everything* will go haywire all at the same time, the proverbial Black Swan. I have no idea what the trigger will be, but one always shows up when the time is right. And I don’t mean just Obama – I mean everything, like the breakup of the EU zone, which will fall whenever they have to admit that all of the bonds from Spain, Italy, Ireland, Portugal, and Greece are bad. The denouement of our own foreclosure crisis here, which has been put off but never solved. The coming de facto bankruptcies of Illinois, California, and New York. And that’s just the top items on the list.

Of course, I can’t prove any of this – who can? But we are in this extremely weird and dangerous situation where *every* *system* worldwide is stretched past the breaking point and is being held together with nothing but financial duct tape, smoke, and mirrors. All it will take will be for any one of these systems to break down and the ensuing collapse of confidence will take them all down together – and I include Obama’s Presidency with them. I won’t say that I believe the world will end in 2012 – but I can’t shake the feeling that 2012 *will* be TEOTWAWKI.

What comes after that? Tell me what comes after a singularity, since that’s what we’re being pulled into.

(singularity: an event in which all known natural laws of a system cease to function in any predictable or discernible way)

On the other hand, things fall when it’s time for them to fall, so this remains my bottom line attitude towards things:

    1. Despite AJ’s best efforts to ignore the subject, the BC is an open issue. I am not saying he was born abroad, I am just saying BHO has something (printed on the BC) to hide.
Otherwise BHO wouldn’t have spent $2M to fend off all efforts to disclose it.
    2. There are meaningful differences in wordings regarding the first(s) state certification of candidacy for BHO and the last ones, the majority otherwise.
The certification papers was handled by the edmsheviks in Congress or DNC (no difference).
    Search the subject.

    P.S.
My posting has nothing to do with ulstermann…

It’s an open issue, but I suspect it is linked to the college records being suppressed as well.

That being said, it needs to be nailed down, then slathered in epoxy BEFORE being brought out in public.

There are other items that are more easily proven. Work those first…force the Dems to shoot their own rabid dog.

  8. WWS says:

I re-read that latest bit by Ulsterman and “insider”. What jumped out at me this time is the bit where “insider” says “If Pelosi stays as minority leader, then everything I think and everything I’ve been told is probably wrong.”

That pretty much nails the door shut on any of his predictions. He is just now realizing that he doesn’t know anything at all, and is probably scared s**tless.

Taking “insider” at face value, ie assuming he’s being honest, here’s how I read his tale: this is an old Clinton admin member, lower level, still loyal to Hillary and trying to find a way to get her back in. He’s smart enough to realize that this turn to the hard left is absolutely disastrous for the party; but he *hasn’t* been smart enough to realize before this moment that the hated right has been dead on accurate about the Dem Party – it has been captured lock, stock, and barrel by the Far Left and there is now no going back.

They are doomed, meaning “Insider” is just now realizing that all of his hopes for the revival of the Dem party are doomed, meaning all of his hopes for a future career with them are doomed. Maybe he’s clever enough to figure out how to latch on to the Republicans, but it won’t be easy. I doubt it – he’s damaged goods now.

Time for him to pass from the stage and reflect on what it feels like to be swept into the dustbin of history.

  9. WWS, I think you are right.

He was hoping that the 2010 midterms would get Democrats to see reason. Instead, they are doubling down on progressivism.

I think he was hoping to see something salvageable by 2016 – pretty much see the Dems lose the White House, but things go so bad, even with a repeal of Obamacare, that they re-take the White House and/or Congress. Instead, he is realizing that the doubling down will see him out of work for much longer – 2020, if lucky, if really unlucky, 2028.

  10. Fai Mao says:

    I agree with Mike.

The issue about the birth certificate pales beside the unreleased academic records. However, I believe that the two are possibly related.

How? What Jelly-Jar received a grant of somekind because he listed himself as an international student?

I don’t actually think that Obama graduated, or that he didn’t take or failed the Bar Exam.

In the last two years, we have been witnessing major events almost daily in the last two years and now you’re saying that the next two years we will see something quite unlike we’ve seen in the previous two years?

Ireland has just indicated that it needs a massive bailout. Spain still hasn’t recovered. Neither has Greece.

Top items on the list…excluded Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac…both unresolved. Social Security unresolved. Medicare/Medicaid unresolved.

I don’t want to bail out CA, IL, Michigan, New York….

Harold, whom are you referring to?

  13. Wilbur Post says:

I’m with you. When the Insider predicted Nancy was toast and she coasted to reelection as leader, that blew up any illusions I had that the “insider” was really a knowledgeable insider. Nobody who had any real inside knowledge could get something so important so wrong; it wasn’t just that he missed but that he missed by a mile. The early installments had the ring of truth and were easy to believe, but the author made the amateur’s fatal mistake of making a specific high-profile prediction that did not come true. As they say on the show, “Myth Busted.”

  14. AJStrata says:

    Dbostan,

I NEVER ignored the BC nonsense – I debunked it. It is a fool’s errand.

And it’s a free country, so you can spend your brief time on this world any way you desire.

  15. Frogg1 says:

As far as my reasoning goes….the birther issue hasn’t been debunked, nor has it been proven. The one thing I am sure of is that questions exist that have not been answered. The WH Insider, for the most part, blows off the whole birther issue (even in his implication about Pelosi). However, it should be said that if anyone were to know anything about Obama’s birth issue it would be Pelosi. Ulsterman’s interviews with the WH Insider sure do make for interesting reading. I think it very possible his source is real, and he is telling it as he sees it. But, I take it with a grain of salt irregardless of the birther issue. The birther issue has been around since before Obama was elected. It is not going to go away. The GOP hasn’t imploded over it yet; and, they are not likely to.

  16. CatoRenasci says:

This guy Insider reminds me of “Deep in the Hurtgen Forest” on the Free Republic years ago – turned out to be a complete hoax.

  17. dbostan says:

    AJ?
    You debunked it?
There are many people who invested way more time and resources into this matter and they say, they DO NOT KNOW what the truth is.
    And you debunked it?
Debunked what? Because there are so many unknowns.
The reason I do not say the BC is a true issue or not, is that I do not have time to invest in it and there are so many other documented issues that can take down this dangerous commie in the WH, I do not believe the BC is a pivotal issue.
But I do not disparage this issue, either.

  18. AJStrata says:

    LOL!

dbostan, the entire mess was started by an technically incompetent fool who went by the moniker “Tech Dude”. They guy didn’t know squat about computers, images, etc.

Obama’s birth records for HI are legit dude. 100% real and it was easy to prove from the scanned images. You can educate yourself here.

But, I do enjoy a good laugh, so keep pretending there is something vitally important there! It’s about as important as the 9-11 truthers.

Bunch of unqualified people pretending they know something about technology, physics, architecture.

This is how the global warming crap got started you know. Al Gore knows about as much about science and technology as Tech Dud did!

    LOL!

  19. WWS says:

Speaking of Al Gore – he now admits that Ethanol was an energy wasting crock, and he only supported it because it was popular in Iowa and he was running in the primary.

    http://voices.washingtonpost.com/44/2010/11/al-gore-i-shouldnt-have-suppor.html

Apparently he’s oblivious to the fact that he just admitted that he deserves zero credibility, since he’ll support whatever policy he thinks is politically popular at the moment.

  20. dbostan says:

I am not willing to invest one second in this.
People with a lot of resources and time already did.
They say something is not kosher.
But, as I said, I think there are many more threads that can lead to Zero’s demise, so, this issue is a secondary issue to me, at best.
