For the heck of, just to see if I could, I ran the Greenland ice data and reproduced the same results.

Sadly, why haven’t any of the journalists who cover science and the warming issue, done the same thing?

The significance of climategate has been greatly underestimated.
    1. the “progressive” movement worldwide, including political parties, is inextricably linked to the theory of man-made global warming.
    2. The Democratic party specifically is inextricably linked to the theory.
    3. The main-stream media, MSM, has been pushing the theory hard for over a decade.
When man-made global warming is finally recognized by the public to be false the credibility of all of these groups/parties/institutions will be severely undermined. Even NASA’s and NOAA’s credibility are in jeopardy.
The stakes in the battle over AGW are enormous, tectonic.

It’s important to note that this ‘hockey stick’ is not the same as Mann’s hockey stick. This true one, based on ice cores, started in the early 1800’s. Mann’s started in circa 1990. Remember they wanted the temps to stay low until very recently for the dramatics.
so they suppressed all those from the early 1800’s til 1990. Mann’s trick I think he called it.

But also note that even with the true hockey stick, the overall trend is still ‘down’, not up. That true trend is why there was all the concern in the 1960’s and 70’s about the coming ice age.
