Obama (and Dems) Losing America With Their Failures
It seems America is growing weary of the Democrats’ grand talk and failed policies:
Heading into a critical period in the debate over health-care reform, public approval of President Obama’s stewardship on the issue has dropped below the 50 percent threshold for the first time, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.
Obama’s approval ratings on other front-burner issues, such as the economy and the federal budget deficit, have also slipped over the summer, as rising concern about spending and continuing worries about the economy combine to challenge his administration. Barely more than half approve of the way he is handling unemployment, which now tops 10 percent in 15 states and the District.

Since April, approval of Obama’s handling of health care has dropped from 57 percent to 49 percent, with disapproval rising from 29 percent to 44 percent.Â

The erosion in Obama’s overall rating on health care is particularly notable among political independents: While positive in their assessments of his handling of health-care reform at the 100-day mark of his presidency (53 percent approved and 30 percent disapproved), independents now are divided at 44 percent positive and 49 percent negative.

Obama’s approval rating on his handling of the deficit is down to 43 percent, as independents now tilt toward disapproval (42 percent approve; 48 percent disapprove).
Rassmussen today has Obama hitting the 50-50 point with voters:
Overall, 50% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President’s performance. Forty-nine percent (49%) disapprove.
Yeah, well failing miserably can have that kind of an effect on one’s credibility. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice …
I wasn’t fooled once.
Neither was I. When it comes to magic beans, unicorns, and promises of candy-showering rainbows that will remake the world, there’s no excuse for gettting fooled the first time.

Out of curiousity – how are Republicans doing in those polls?
Are there any national Republicans with a higher approval rate than Obama?

If the WaPo/ABC poll has Obama’s approval on health care at 49%, I wonder what a more objective polling company would conclude. WaPo and ABC tend to oversample Democrats, don’t they?
You raise a good argument, Guy. But please keep in mind not all of us on here are “wingnuts”. There were poll results on Fox news showing that if the ’12 elections were held today, Obama would lead Romney by 2%, or Palin by six points. In both instances, however, Obama’s total was below 50%. Poor showings for the first Democrat since Carter to win a majority. The latest polls I’ve seen have Republicans leading on I believe eight out of ten issues. Unfortunately, however, this is more due to people losing faith with Democrats rather than gaining faith in the GOP. Now if the GOP would ever publicly issue their own policy ideas instead of opposing everything, they’d be doing better.

I am not a Republican and most of our readers are centrists. What you should be worrying about is how the Dems are repeating the mistakes of the far right.
