The Magic Is Wearing Off President Obama

Published by at 8:50 am under All General Discussions

I missed the speech last night. I could not stomach listening to someone promise everything in the world as if he had a magic wand. It is not so much the wild, fantasy promises – but the fact Americans are buying them that really turns me off.

Anyway, I am not sure how well this is all going over. I don’t believe in the tooth fairy and I know that all those TV shows and movies where they pull a hat out of a rabbit is not real life. And I think (though I cannot know for sure) most people are realistic enough to know when they are being snowed.

Polls are starting to show more degradation in Obama’s support – which is now on par with George W Bush. Obama is not instilling confidence. In fact, America is more and more bleak on our future as a result of the liberal democrats run amok:

A new national poll indicates that nearly three out of four Americans are scared about the way things are going in the country today.

Seventy-three percent of those questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Monday say they’re very or somewhat scared about the way things are going in the United States. That’s six points higher than in an October poll.

It seems they have lost HOPE with all this radical and reckless CHANGE we have seen. And there is a backlash rising:

Bailouts, bailouts everywhere, and not an end in sight.

So what do Americans think about all these bailout requests?

Given the choice between federal bailouts for the auto companies, the finance industry and financially trouble homeowners or no bailouts for any of them, 54% say no bailouts period.

Just 26% support bailouts for all three, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. Twenty percent (20%) aren’t sure which course is better to follow.

The problem is DC is not bailing out those who kept their nose clean, their expectations reasonable and their greed in check. They are bailing out the fat cats, not America. The Santelli revolution is still building steam. And in modern day politics, where it takes years to see a shift in attitude (or a calamitous event), we are seeing a surprising fast slide in support for Obama:

For the first time since Gallup began tracking Barack Obama’s presidential job approval rating on Jan. 21, fewer than 60% of Americans approve of the job he is doing as president.

This may be nothing, but to be not even 100 days in and seeing the country upset with the direction of the country and starting to lose support of all that HOPE and CHANGE is impressively bad. That 10% point drop means 14% of his supporters bailed on him already. If he has a similar month going forward he will be down below 50% with nearly a 3rd of his supporters gone. It could be nothing, and it could be a real disaster in confidence coming.

Obama will get a delay in the bottom dropping out because of the denial factor – the refusal of Americans who supported him to admit they were wrong. But as the economy continues to slump (it doesn’t have to get worse, just not get any better) the patience will wear out and that denial will turn to righteous anger.

It will be an interesting 4th of July around DC.

I wonder how the stock market is going to do today. It went up 250 points in anticipation of Obie’s speech.

That universal education program all the way to college should have already been a red flag to all Americans. But I guess not.

Juan Williams said that the reason for the downtick in Obie’s approval ratings is because he lost the Republicans that voted for him. He is still keeping many Democrats and most of the independents that voted for him.

He says that he is allowing the Bush tax cuts to expire for the top 2 percent. Anyone willing to bet that the top two percent will find ways to lower their salaries to the point that there won’t be many top two percenters?

Then he’ll be forced to lower that top percent to maybe five percent, then ten percent. Nobody is going to want to earn that much money.

    The ends justifies the means.

You may want to read about The Cloward-Piven Strategy of Orchestrated
Chaos – a tome written by two radical Communist professors in
    conjunction with Saul Alinsky.

Here’s the Cliff Notes version: This strategy is a method by which
the quick fall oc Capitalism can be brought about by overloading the
system of government with so many seemingly valid requests that no
response is possible and financial collapse and chaos ensues, after which
the frightened population will turn to anyone offering a fix.

We now have a plurality in this country of citizens who perceive their bread to be buttered by government, not by the private sector. The “stimulus bill” is about buying yet more allegiance, adding to the numbers of those who will be forever beholden to government. This is how the One got elected, and it is why it is wishful thinking on our part to believe his poll numbers are going to go much lower than they are now.

The left has already succeeded in establishing the words “rich” and CEO as pejoratives, and the media have convinced 75% that the credit crunch was created by private sector greed, instead of government intervention into the markets. The majority of dissatisfaction with Obama is borne of ire from some who feel the government should be helping them instead of someone else, NOT the fact that government is meddling where it shouldn’t.

Our only hope is that things will get so screwed up that people will begin to realize that the private sector is the fount of all wealth, and that government is the problem instead of the solution, to quote Ronald Reagan.

Surprisingly, even the BBC published my post.
Their “Have Your Say” Bulletin Board is fully moderated.
Most often difficult to get past the moderator. They were
asking, though I am not sure why it matters to Britons,
“Did Obama Hit The Right Note?”

    I replied

His name might be Obama and he might be the President,
but there’s a good chance neither is true. Why else does he
refuse to release his birth certificate?
Regardless of oratory, the USA now faces the very real possibility that all government spending bills are illegal, and that once the fraud of the fake Presidency can no longer be sustained, every single dollar spent illegally will have to be
recovered by the administrators. This will affect us too, even though you won’t publish this. (they did)

    Dave M.

I know that on this blog, this sort of stuff is filed under
“Birth Certificate Nonsense” but an encouraging number of military officers,
up to the rank of Brigadier-General, some retired but some still on
active duty, are signing up with Dr. Orly Taitz to file a new lawsuit,
based on the argument that the military do have legal standing to sue,
and do not have to obey an order from an illegal usurper prez-o-dent.

Their profiles at usual prefix defendourfreedoms dot us

I’m not sure I’d want to call their careers, “nonsense”.

    Obama is full of crap.

He will trade our dependence on Saudi Arabia’s oil for an enormous debt to China. Really, is one better then the other? To make sure we will all make the transition he will penalize all who use energy.

Bush spent hugh amounts on education, everybody complains the republicans spent and spent. But Obama wants to spend more, from pre-school through college.

We supposedly have 45 million people medically uninsured. To solve that problem we will insure all Americans through the government.

Mr. Obama we have run out of money. If we are going in debt to China, lets buy the fundamentals of life.

Why is Obama unbelievable, and full of crap? Our world is ordered in a series of natural progressions. The rising of the sun follows the setting of the moon. Spring follows winter. Spring not only follows winter, but there are certain things that happen in winter that make the re-birth happen in spring. Without getting too technical we know something seems to be true because it follows a known natural pattern. This known natural pattern gives the individuals that inhabit this planet a feeling of stability, discipline, and order.

So the country’s bad policies, greed, and thinking that we can have something for nothing has come crashing down on our heads. We are out of money, what is the natural progression that must follow? As individuals we go back to the basics, we reduce our spending, by turning out the lights when not needed, we wear a sweater instead of turning up the heat, we by groceries on sale, in every aspect of our life we are more thoughtful and ask the question, “do I really need this, can I find it for less”. We give everything we have to keep our job, we help those around us who have fewer options.

So what does our government do that will help? Well it extends unemployment insurance and helps people keep medical insurance. We know that our banking system must be made solvent no matter how badly they have behaved. What our government does that is not helpful, that is totally disconnected from the natural progression of things, that is not believable and is crap. We shelve our own sources of energy for a pie in the sky of what might be in 20 years and billions of those same dollars that we don’t have. We sacrifice jobs that we do have to retrain some for jobs we might have and might produce energy in 20 years. Why not keep the jobs we have trained for, that would keep money in the Country and also look to the future.

We spend even more money on an education system that the President says has failed millions.

Health care insurance is not affordable for all, but it is for a vast majority. And we have programs in place to help those who can’t help them selves.

What would be believable from the president is if he told us we will reduce the spending of the government just like you need to reduce your budgets at home. We will expand to help those in desperate need, we will follow the logical of rebuilding, just like you are doing at home.

Why doesn’t Obama get it? I think it is because Obama has lived a fairy tale life that has not followed the logical steps of bottom up building, of spring following winter. His whole life has been a series of happenings that have propelled him into the spotlight and a position of leadership that has no foundation, no grit, no home, no family, no personal accountability, no hard work, few consequences, and alot of adulation for a silver tongue, an attractive man, and certainly intelligence. He is governing in a series of happenings, just like his own life has been.

  7. kathie says:

Dave M….yes organized chaos, that is just what we have.

  8. dave m says:

    Kathie,
    Obama does get it.
He knows what you say is true.
But he doesn’t want your good to blossom.
He wants to end your sense of freedom, your spirit,
    your belief in the individual.
He wants to surrender America to islam. The surrender to communism is a stepping stone.
He has no good will for anything you believe in.
Kathie, if he could call up Strategic Command and order the targeting of
all American cities, he would have destroyed them by now. He knows
he can’t. The military would rebel. He is doing as much as he can.

    Do not be confused.
Obama is an evil man, an islamist, and also a narcissist, who believe
he cannot fail, with his “god” on his side. The monetary strategy is to waste
so much on nonsense, on alternative energy, on global worming,
on supporting terrorists at the UN, on taxing business and workers,
that the Ayn Rand novel, Atlas Shurgged, comes true and society
collapses. At this point the Communists think he will bring them to power.
They are wrong. He has a darker strategy.

You may say I am paranoid and mostly wrong. I hope so.
But I doubt I am. We shall see.

  9. kathie says:

Dave M, you sound paranoid because what you say to my ears sounds so unbelievable, that a person is capable of being deceptive beyond belief, is so absolutely evil that he would destroy us. Some things about his background that worry me. Why he wouldn’t produce a birth certificate, did the Saudi’s send him to school, the silence of the black power movement, organized chaos of our government, no attachment to family, shady attachment to anarchists, his narcissism, arrogance for what is real, bulling, I’m sure I’ve missed a dozen more worries. but I must say you make a pretty good case, but at this point a bit far out for me.

Bad news from “Gateway Pundit”, also Homeland security head didn’t mention terrorism in conformation speech.

On Drudge Report I see a picture of Iran’s nuclear plant nearing completion. There is no doubt in my mind that building will not exist very much longer. Israel will not allow it to go into operation.
Anyone want to make an educated guess on the demolition date?

I found this interesting on Fox:

Two of President Obama’s Cabinet members authored a variety of earmarks in the $410 billion omnibus spending bill the House is poised to pass Wednesday to keep the government running through Oct. 1.

Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood and Labor Secretary Hilda Solis were both House members when appropriators began to forge this legislation last year. However, a stalemate between President Bush and congressional Democrats forced the sides to punt the rest of the spending provisions until now.

New transparency rules ordered up by Democrats two years ago require lawmakers requesting earmarks to write a letter expressly asking Congress to dedicate money for a given project. And as one scours the omnibus spending bill, it’s easy to find specific appeals from people who are no longer in office, like LaHood and Solis.

And Sen. Byrd is complaining that Obama’s “czars” are taking control of things away from Senate appointed heads of departments allowing Obama to appoint people who report only to him and do not face Senate confirmation to run things. Putting Rahm in charge of the census and taking that responsibility away from the Secretary of Commerce is one example. By appointing these “czars”, Obama can avoid having any of these people answerable to or vetted by Congress. He is basically doing an end-run around Congress.

  12. crosspatch says:

“away from Senate appointed heads of departments”

Oops, meant Senate *approved* as in confirmation hearings, a vote, etc. None of the czars face confirmation votes.

Not sure you really missed anything AJ. The agenda for the communist rally is usually the same—make themselves feel good about what they are doing when deep down the little bit of them that remains American must be screaming—-kind of like drinking to forget. I think the whole purpose of such infomercials is to give MSNBC an opportunity to show themselves as the adulating sycophants they are. I would rather watch the Shamwow infomercial—at least that cleans up messes.

I didn’t miss the speech because I didn’t try to catch it.

Just 1,425 days until America’s experiment with communism ends. I think I’ll make it till January 20, 2013.

The hogs are lined up at the trough for another big spending spree. This time it is only $450 billion. That’s on top of the nearly Trillion they appropriated for themselves and their cohorts last week. It looks like Obama is going to turn out to be just another African Tyrant looting the national treasury and doing whatever is necessary to perpetuate himself in power for as long as he can hang on. I wonder if those 3 turncoat Judas Reps. will go along with this new raid on the treasury. Make no mistake about it. The Dems feel their power. They are systematically looting the treasury while they can, before the American people wake up and realize they have been had. I feel for the African American community who will bear the brunt of the fall out from Obama’s betrayal of those who trusted and supported him, only to realize that he is the epitome of every ugly stereotype of what white racists have ever thought about his race. Right now he hasn’t shown me anything positive. We have one huge raid on
the treasury with nothing to show for the spending and another one coming up. Anyone want to make bets on how soon the thrid and fourth raids will take place?

Ps folks… I don’t claim to be clairvoyant but about 8 out of ten times I am right.
