Now This Is What I Call A Late Term Abortion – Thanks To Government Run Healthcare

Published by at 9:32 am under 2008 Elections,All General Discussions

Well, there are late term abortions, and there are late, late, late term abortions so that financially struggling government health care can save a few coins:

Elderly people suffering from dementia should consider ending their lives because they are a burden on the NHS and their families, according to the influential medical ethics expert Baroness Warnock.

The veteran Government adviser said pensioners in mental decline are “wasting people’s lives” because of the care they require and should be allowed to opt for euthanasia even if they are not in pain.

She insisted there was “nothing wrong” with people being helped to die for the sake of their loved ones or society.

Lady Warnock said: “If you’re demented, you’re wasting people’s lives – your family’s lives – and you’re wasting the resources of the National Health Service.

Emphasis mine.  The question is, as with the case where babies who survive abortions are left to die, who has the final say – family or society? Here we have a bankrupt government run health care system trying to convince a nation it is time to put out their old folks for the benefit of all, and here in the US the liberals want to let babies die so they won’t be a burden (emotionally or financially).

Here is what is wrong with all this talk of “solving the problems” of life’s challenges – there are good people in those bags of bones and flesh:

Just words, just speeches, just people. America – which way are we going to head?

    Hi AJ,
I wouldn’t pay any attention to these crazed articles coming out of the UK.
Everybody knows the bbc is a communist led propaganda broadcaster.
Yeah, the government babbled on about that today, but the present
government of the UK has sank 28 points behind the Conservatives
in a swing unheard of in their modern election history.
The die hard leftys in their media will hang on til the end, but,
their government is a dead man walking. It will crash into the time limits
in 2010, and that will be that.

Haven’t we seen something along these lines before?

Didn’t Hitler have some of the same ideas about the elderly and disabled?

    Could someone refresh my memory?

When you start down the path of devaluing human life and making decisions on which babies will be born and which ones you will send down the drain pretty soon the pathway becomes a rather steep, extremely slippery slope.

I think the first person to take advantage of this program should be Lady Warnock. Look at the evidence – she’s absolutely wasting the resources of the NHS, not to mention wasting the lives of everyone who has to deal with her.

And her comments are absolute proof of early onset dementia. Case closed.

WWS – you nailed that one!

This is what terrifies me about government-run health care. It would combine the pinch-penny callousness of the worst HMO horror stories with the immunity from justice of a botched no-knock police raid. When the money runs short, the administrators will turn to murder.

And once you start killing the inconvenient, it’s hard to stop. How long would it take for someone like Obama to quietly pass the word that his political opponents and their families were to be killed if they entered a hospital? Years? Months? Weeks?
