Callous, Uncaring NY Daily News Headline

What kind of jerk puts up a headline like this:

Ma, tot bridge victims laid to rest

MINNEAPOLIS – Family and friends gathered yesterday for a double funeral for a mother and daughter killed in the collapse of the Interstate 35W bridge.

“Ma” and “tot”? “Mother” and “daughter”, as the lede respectfully uses, is a much better choice of words than “ma” and “tot”. The person who created this headline deserves to be fired. How classless can you get? The “ma” was pregnant as well – so this is truly a callous act.

The MSM keeps getting lower and lower.

At least fighter pilots have the golden rule that the limiting factor is that pilots can only tie the low altitude flight record when a crash occurs.

    Does journalism require an education?

The Daily News is a Liberal minded NYC “Tabloid”. It’s like the national enquirer of news. The NY Post is no different (although conservative in overall pitch). Most New Yorkers (I’m one), have become callous to such things. It’s a daily occurance in our lives…entire families wiped out at intersections crossing the street, etc…”despite” it also being one of the “safest” cities in America…to see such headlines and lack of respect (for anything really)

Evidently, the main requirement is to have an agenda or cause.

Actually it does require an education, in journalism. A few decades ago reporters were regular people, often without a college education. Then came agenda journalism and a degree in journalism.

This is not so much a lack of education as it is bad taste.

I would say disrespectful even. And there used to be a time when such was part of any education.
